Characters: Terezi and YOU
Setting: Infirmary
Format: Action!
Summary: Terezi is in the infirmary and it's ALL BLUEKAT'S FAULT.
Warnings: Terezi?
[Who knew being attacked by thorn covered vines could tear up your legs so much? They'd done a pretty good job of ruining her legs. Luckily, most of her cuts hadn't required stitches, but her legs were still bandaged up from ankle to thigh. She's refused to use the crutches they've offered her in a fit of stubbornness, so she's stuck on the bed.
What do?]

[His voice is raising a little, though he struggles to keep it and his facial expressions under control. He's got this. He can do this.]
no subject
Because you needed help. And I am fine, jegus.
no subject
[He can't hold that back -- his temper snaps out of control for a second, a biting reply that he's forced to reign in with a breath through his nose.]
no subject
What do you want me to say? Fine, my legs are killing me and I had to watch you die. Happy?

[This was supposed to stop when Kanaya dropped the bomb that wasn't meant to be dropped. He finally pushes himself away from the bed to look at her, needing the idea of distance between them to be physical.
He can't look at her when he speaks, and his shoulders seize up, but he forces it out.]
Look. I'm sorry. Alright?
no subject
[She stops when she senses him moving away, frowning at his apology. Way to be vague, Karkat.]
Sorry for what?
no subject
[He says it, but his back is turned, and he's a good distance away from her now. There's a soft crack of his knuckles as he clenches them.
Kanaya had always been a different breed in terms of his friends, but looking back on how they responded to his absence, he couldn't help but feel an immense weight of guilt on his shoulders.
After all of that, Terezi still came for him.]
no subject
Good. You should be.
[Her voice is much softer now, though, and she even smiles a little, though he can't see it.]
Thanks, Karkat.
no subject
Instead, he tries to change the subject entirely, opening and closing his mouth. It doesn't really work.
Same old Karkat.]

Are you going to stand all the way across the room the whole visit?

[SHUT UP THIS IS HARD FOR HIM, CAN'T YOU SEE HIS PRIDE SCREAMING UNDER HIS FOOT?]
no subject
[FINE she will just scoot to the edge of the bed SEE HOW PAINFUL THIS IS FOR HER?]
We are going to make a deal!
no subject
Are we?
no subject
No more lying to each other, or hiding things. Okay?
no subject
Yeah. Fine.
[Sure, he means it. But carrying it out will be another thing entirely.]
no subject
Promise?

no subject
I can't promise.
no subject
Why not?

[He was slowly getting used to this whole 'her knowing the truth about everything' deal.]
no subject
And you know I only get mad when I find out. What is the point of hiding anything?
no subject
[He's getting a little defensive, but he's obviously trying not to.]
Look, I didn't come down here to fight.
no subject
[There's a pause as she props herself up on her elbows.]
We're not fighting.
