Summary: Eridan was injured pretty badly in his nightmare world, and he's the Worst Patient Ever.
Warnings: Swearing and references to grievous injury likely. Otherwise, I'll edit it if necessary.

Someone bandaged his blistered wrists and put some kind of salve on his savaged back. The salves dulled the pain a lot, which was good, but Eridan knew it'd come back. He lay on his side, because lying on his back hurt too much, the blanket pulled up to his chin and his face buried miserably into the soft pillow.

He didn't know why the universe decided to dump all of the problems onto him. Why did he have to be the one sea dweller who was born into poverty, the only one from a world where sea dwellers were reviled instead of revered? Why did he have to be the one clapped in irons and whipped for something he never did? Why did Feferi have to be dead? The one light in his life, and she was gone.

Why did the universe always have to make him miserable?

Life was hard.

So hard.

And clearly no one understood.

[She seems doubtful, but he ignores that. He doesn't know Dualscar personally, only what he read in history books, and those were rare. A lot of positive propaganda about sea dweller leaders were purged after the revolution.]

I've... spoken to the other Sollux Captor here. Could you... explain your world to me in a bit more detail? When I told him about how most of my people had bright red blood, he reacted strangely... as though that was... special? To be honest, I'd like to understand why it is you all are judged so harshly. It makes no sense to me.

[ Pause. ]

I... hope it's not a bother, I merely wish to understand. I do not enjoy feeling ignorant of another culture's ways; my people live with many different races in one place, and we all get along fine.

You talked to my Sol, or the other one? [He frowns, not really sure how to explain it] Evveryone wwhere you come from has red blood?

I'm fairly sure it was the one that you know; the other one told me the opposite of what this one did regarding how your society works. But as for my world...

[ That question... well, she does suppose it would seem strange, to a troll, one race all having one blood color. ]

Well... yes. I haven't heard of any instance where either of my people had a different color than that, nor any of the other races I know of.

Okay, wwell that'd be pretty different, yeah. [he's sort of at a loss, but whatever] So in your wworld no one wwould be better or wworse based on their blood colour. But wwhat's so hard to understand about that?

I suppose I can't understand why anyone would find themselves to be better or worse than someone else? Doesn't everyone have their own good and bad?
