Signless pressed the button for the lowest level, and watched his moirail nervously as Psiioniic manipulated the elevator and forced it to obey. He leaned up and touched his friend's shoulder as the elevator descended, hoping that he'd be all right once he was disconnected.

When the doors opened, he withdrew his hand. "Psi, Taiki, stay here and guard the elevator. The rest of you, with me."

Boldly, he stepped forward into the corridor, alert for any signs of resistance.

[Signless, the Ψiioniic and the Condesce are already outside the elevator, waiting for the other three to arrive. The plan is simple, and almost certain to go sideways the moment they get inside, so Signless hasn't bothered to plan too far ahead. They'll get in using Taiki, hack the elevator using Ψiioniic, and then figure out where to go from there. He's brought a sack of ropes - made of sheets he stole from the infirmary - and his sickles, and some medical supplies. He has no idea if any of these items will be useful, but they're all safely inside his sylladex, ready to be deployed.

He's a little antsy, but excited. The weeks in the tower have been frustrating, and he's glad to get some action, to be doing something concrete to help himself and his friends, and all the other prisoners.

He's not pleased about the Condesce deciding to come along, though, and he hovers protectively near his moirail. He had only gone to tell her the day had finally come and he was on his way to try, and she insisted on coming personally. All of the arguments had already been exhausted, and now he's just lapsed into an irritated silence.]

Setting: Infirmary
Format: Either
Summary: Eridan was injured pretty badly in his nightmare world, and he's the Worst Patient Ever.
Warnings: Swearing and references to grievous injury likely. Otherwise, I'll edit it if necessary.

Someone bandaged his blistered wrists and put some kind of salve on his savaged back. The salves dulled the pain a lot, which was good, but Eridan knew it'd come back. He lay on his side, because lying on his back hurt too much, the blanket pulled up to his chin and his face buried miserably into the soft pillow.

He didn't know why the universe decided to dump all of the problems onto him. Why did he have to be the one sea dweller who was born into poverty, the only one from a world where sea dwellers were reviled instead of revered? Why did he have to be the one clapped in irons and whipped for something he never did? Why did Feferi have to be dead? The one light in his life, and she was gone.

Why did the universe always have to make him miserable?

Life was hard.

So hard.

And clearly no one understood.
