Kuja is... not happy to once again be at the mercy of the vicissitudes of the Tower and those who run it. He reads the note without comment and checks the contents of his trunk before speaking to anyone. Ten ethers. Unlikely to be used, but there are worse things to have. Now to address the others, no one he recognizes.

"Not much of a deadline, I'm afraid. I think we should make an attempt sooner rather than later."

Enoch isn't sure what to think, now that he's one of the "taken", that category of missing others that had been absent in the tower. Is it experiencing hardship in their absence? He looks up from his note as Kuja speaks, breaking him from his thoughts.

"I agree." He slips out of bed, checking his own trunk. His Arch is there, folded, as well as his pens, though for some reason not his journals. He takes the weapon from inside and attaches it to his jeans before summoning his armor. At least he has this much. Though, he's learned how fickle the tower can be about these things...

And once again there is another little event that the Tower has given them and he was once again dragged into it. Ah well, the most he could do was escape. He would come back from the alternative, but... that didn't mean he wanted it. "Da. Five days is not being much," he replied, and glanced around the room, not having his trunk at all. Ah well he would have to do without it.

Rin stayed quiet, observing his current roommates. He hadn't known that anyone would be remain calm after waking up in a strange room with even stranger people but the people here surprised him. The worst he had experienced so far was hunger - the monsters had their own difficulty, but they were inconsequential to him.

The note had put him on edge. He waited a moment, listening for another voice to speak up before voicing his own question. "What do we have to do to get out of here?"

Perhaps all of them were used to dealing with hardship, or had some sort of training. For Enoch's part, he tended to rise to overt challenges, which this very much was. "Our answer must wait outside."

All of the others seemed cautious, hesitant, which wasn't too unexpected, given the past hardships the Tower unleashed on those chosen. Kuja knew no one, but perhaps that was true for the others? Either way, no time like the present.

"Then let us see what challenge we face."

Kuja opens the door, stepping inside. There's miscellaneous junk in piles, like an abandoned building - rusted metal furniture, crumbled drywall and planks of wood, trash, heaps of papers, and so on. For a moment Kuja thinks they have to dig through the mess, but the opposite door is what catches his attention.

The door is plain aside from a white snowflake. No prizes for guessing this. Kuja casually shoots a Blizzard spell at the door. Something drops from the ceiling, and the sign on the door changes to a red flame. Well. Kuja can let the others worry about that: Kuja's role is obvious.

"I leave the investigation to you all." While he'll cast spells according to the symbol that appears. Not too difficult, and now the presence of the ethers is clear, even though he won't need them for a while yet.

Russia followed the other through the door with little hesitation. It wasn't as if he could stay dead after all, so it was better to go exploring and wind up that way rather than having the tower decide for him that he was dead. He moved carefully over a little pile of junk frowning slightly, because it really was quite a mess.

When the thing dropped from the ceiling it meant one of two things--that they would either have to kill it or collect it. Either way it meant getting closer and he moved, kicking some of the piles out of the way, shoving a particularly large piece of drywall out of the way to do it. He supposed in a way that the mess was part of the challenge.

When he got to the key, he had to reach through some debris to get to it, and he held it up in the light, glancing at the door. Clearly this was to help them get to the other side. Again. He frowned slightly, glancing at the others. "This challenge is seeming simple enough...." And that honestly made him smile a little because rarely were things so simple in the tower.

When his armor vanished on stepping through the door after the others, that was when he truly hesitated. Forced power loss was never a good thing during a challenge, he'd found during his little restaurant-spurred adventure.

He relaxed, but only slightly, when the challenge itself became clear. "They're testing our capabilities." But he watched for the next key that dropped, intending to run after it the moment he saw it.
