Characters: Reno, Diarmuid, Lancer (Cu), Waver
Setting: Floor 32
Format: Either
Summary: A hunting they will go because the kitchen could use more meat. Just ignore the pink snow.
Warnings: Possible mentions of blood and of course slaughtering animals
They were set. The area around the staircase was filled with equipment and supplies for a day of hunting. There was food and drink in case they got hungry, makeshift weapons, bags, extra warm cloaks and even a really crude cart to haul things around on sat nearby. The cart was rough and wooden, and only had one set of wheels, but Reno found it sort of handy instead of hauling carcasses up the staircase.
Now all they had to do was go out into the floor and start tracking.

[But instead of complain, the lecturer folded his arms and stood off to the side--obvious displeasure was probably radiating off him by now, but he didn't say a word about it.]

[And then, Reno hands him an odd looking bow.
A very odd looking bow, though effective enough if one discounted it's a modified bow mounted to a beam with an aiming sight- oh wait, it's just a really crude crossbow.]
Like it? Did it myself. Looks like crap but it shoots pretty straight and there's a safety feature on the release.

[But Waver looked slightly less aggravated when Reno handed him a crossbow, looking it over with mild interest.]
...Not bad. But if it backfires and shoots me in the eye, you're basically dead.

I thought y'might have an easier time with this than the regular bows. Just make sure to match the bolts up with the grooves, and keep track of 'em because those're the only ones I got. They aren't easy to make.

This won't take as much strength... y'just kind of need to pull the string and hook it. It's longer loading, but since this isn't a battle situation it should be fine. Ya do remember how to aim, right?

Hey, Waver, are you ready to go after some game now? Try to stay safe, alright?

[This is not a good day to be a Lancer that annoys him, apparently.]
Two: Don't fucking patronize me. And three: if you don't step out of my personal space in three seconds I'm going to break your nose.

[He takes a step back. He's already got a look at the ring, so he doesn't need to peer any further.]
And, you know, I'm glad I can hunt together with friends again. Haven't done that in some time.

He doesn't say anything as he approaches Waver. Instead, he just gives his partner a supportive smile and lightly squeezes his shoulder, the ring on his finger catching the light for a moment as his hand drops away.
Hopefully, animals are the only things that will be killed today...]

[Waver raised an eyebrow as he asked that, uncrossing his arms and waving one hand around idly.]

I'll be fine. I've hunted here many times before, though, perhaps I should have brought Mac an Chuill along since we are all powerless.
[The hound had been sleeping when he left, exhausted from their earlier rounds, and so Diarmuid had opted to let him rest.]
I do not think all boars in the Tower have their sights set on me anyway.
[Just the monstrous ones on the circus floor and this isn't that floor, thankfully.]

You have got to be kidding me...
[As he looks up, his eyes meet the eyes of a large, suspiciously earless, white boar. The boar snorts, pawing at the ground menacingly. Diarmuid himself freezes, like a deer caught in the headlights of a car.]
This isn't even funny anymore.
[The boar tilts its head, snorting again...almost as if it is laughing. However, laughter is the farthest things from Diarmuid's mind at the moment. When he speaks again, his voice is a tight whisper.]
Help...
no subject
[He's a little surprised when he finds that the boar he's tracking is having a staring contest with his brother.]
Oy, Bro, looks like you found my prey.
[The look on his brother's face, though, makes him tense up. And then he remembers something that happened a year ago. The smile melts off of his face as he realizes the situation is deadly serious.]
...Get out of here, Bro.
[He hisses to his brother before preparing to do something to distract the boar.]
no subject
[Waver came across the scene shortly after Cu Chulainn and instantly cursed himself for not already having reloaded. Regardless, he stepped to the side and positioned himself in front of Diarmuid while leveling a glare at the other Lancer.]
Do something, will you?
no subject
If they were slacking off he'd have a bit of fun spooking them. If not, well, he could see a situation better from here.
And he's really glad he did because that sure is a massive boar and three idiots staring it down.]
The hell is Diarmuid doing?!
no subject
It's hard...very hard to keep those the memories of his past deaths via boar from flashing before his eyes. He supposes the fact that he is managing not to completely lose himself to those memories is a plus, but it sure doesn't feel like it.
Unconsciously, his fingers close around Waver's wrist.]
I'm sorry. Please...be careful. I will...
[And then suddenly, he's gone. Oops...void visit time. At least it makes dealing with their tusky friend a little easier?]
