[001] Time to wake Up Princess [Open]

Summary: Kairi wakes up in a shiny new location. Time to explore.

Sleep paralysis was a terrifying thing. Kairi could only be grateful that it didn't last longer than half a minute. Afterwards her eyes flew open, and she found herself laying on a bed in a completely unfamiliar bedroom. She sat up quickly heartbeat picking up as she wondered what in the world had happened to her. She was no stranger to waking up in unfamiliar places, but it didn't mean she liked it. And if this wasn't Traverse Town, she didn't know if any of her friends would know where she was.

Fortunately, she found the letters before she could go into a complete panic. She read each of them through more than once, making sure she understood. Another world had disappeared, and somehow she'd been brought here for safety.... or at least some semblance of safety. For a few moments she sat in silence with the letters resting in her palms, sadly wondering if what had happened to the Destiny Islands had befallen Traverse Town. But it wouldn't do to just sit here, she had to look around.... see if she could find anyone she recognized.

Before she left the room, she peeked inside the chest at the bottom of her bed. She recognized some of the clothing and things inside, but she didn't take more than a minute to take inventory. She could always come back to this.

And so, with the click of her door, Kairi stepped out to take a look around.

Hello Kairi, do you remember this little bugger here? ...Yeah, probably not. Oh well.

Ienzo was just walking down the dormitory hallway here, carrying way more books than his scrawny frame should reasonably be able to handle, when Kairi clicked the lock and peered out the door. It was immediately obvious that she was still wearing the white bodysuit that signified newcomers, and he wasn't exactly in a position where he could stop and have a conversation without possibly creating a crapvalanche out of all these books. So all Kairi will get out of the floating stack of books is:

"...You'll find your old clothes in a trunk next to your bed."

He does sound pretty worn-out, though. That is a lot of books.

Nope, not remembering you at all. But that's okay, she'll still be nice you, Ienzo.

Why thank you for the information floating stack of books- wait. That's not right. Kairi steps outside fully, trying to circle around and see who exactly is carrying all of those books. Oh, there are feet, so there is someone there. "Thank you..." she started. She had thought she saw her old outfit when she peeked inside the box.

"Uhm, do you need help?"

"No." Honest, he's carried bigger piles than this before. Not quickly or with any great level of ease, but, uh, it's happened. And then he says, almost like an afterthought: "...Thank you for the offer." He finally cranes his neck to get a good look at her and -- oh dear, looks like he doesn't recognize her either. Whoops!

"You... must have some questions. Is that correct?" Because honestly, who wouldn't have questions about this deranged tower?

Yes. Questions. She does have those, and she's quite glad she ca finally see the face of the book carrier so she'll feel a little better asking. "You're welcome," she adds, before she launches into her interrogation.

"Yes, I do!" It's odd to ask a child for answers, but he seems to pretty calm. "I read the letters after I woke up... but is what they said true?" He can probably see the fear on her face.

[Leaving the horn pile unattended was probably not the greatest idea this troll had ever had. But, then again, none of his ideas had been particularly grand to begin with. He'd wandered a bit down the hallway, off-kilter, as if sleepwalking. His head bobbed up and down slowly, and his eyelids were dangerously close to falling completely shut. The only thing that made him seem remotely coherent was the fact that he was able to keep lifting fingerfuls of slime in to his mouth from a pie tin held in one of his gray hands.

When Kairi had emerged from her room, Gamzee had almost walked right into her. He stopped calmly, though, like it was the most natural thing in the world for people to step in front of him. He shifted his gaze slowly down to her, sucking on another swallow of pie curiously.]

Heyyy, little girlie.

[At the sudden appearance of someone, and then the sound of his voice, Kairi nearly jumped out of her skin. Yes, she'd been hoping to find someone, just not so suddenly.

She regards him for a few seconds, not quite sure what to say. She's never seen anyone like him before, so of course Kairi is curious about his appearance. He seems rather... relaxed if that was the right word for it.

She is only slightly wary as she responds.]

H-Hello.

[As she gives him the once-over, he does the same. She was one of the shorter humans he'd seen, although not the smallest, by far! They were near the same age, he guessed. Seemed like it, at least. Cleaning slime off of another finger, he reached up to scratch at that chaotic black mop he liked to call his hair.

Then, she spoke! He offered her a friendly smile in return, baring a quite impressive set of fangs as he did so. He was still uncomfortably close to her, but it was obvious that it wasn't uncomfortable for him at all.]

[Well, whenever Kairi slips outside, she might find a disgruntled looking Riku passing through the hallway. Nothing too weird, right? ..except for the fact that Riku was supposed to be possessed and needed saving. Also, this Riku has a familiar charm on his belt.

But once he catches sight of Kairi, he gasps and rushes right over to her. He's not sure if she's the right one, but that doesn't change the fact that she's a Kairi and a version of one of his friends.]

[The sound of that familiar voice sends her spinning to face him. The look on her face is clearly perplexed and surprised, as she stares at Riku with wide eyes.

Was he okay? Had Sora helped him? She glances down, seeing her lucky charm dangling from his belt. She has a ton of questions, but for now she'll just look relieved to see a familiar face.]

Riku! You're here!

[Well, for now, he'll just act natural. Regardless of the circumstances, it's always good to see a familiar face. So, he'll manage one of his typical smirks.]

Yeah, I've been here for a while now.

Romeo smiles when he sees the girl in the hallway. Another new person! Though Romeo wished the Bad people would stop bringing people here it was always nice to meet new people. He smiled at her. "Hello!"

Kairi turns at the greeting, not recognizing the voice. She smiles at the new person however, taking a break form her exploration to gret him in return. "Hello.

Who might you be?" This Tower certainly had a lot more people than she was expecting.

Romeo smiled brightly, "I'm Romeo! What's your name?" She seemed to be around his own age, perhaps a little older.

[It seemed like there were so many new people lately, even if she wasn't exactly familiar with all of the people already here. Some of the faces were familiar... others less so.

But here's one face that she wasn't expecting to see, one that makes her freeze as she spots it's owner while heading towards a computer kiosk. Red hair, a face she knew as well as her own - considering it was the same...

She's torn. She wants to turn and flee, but for all she knew Kairi had already seen her and besides, she... she couldn't go running blindly right now. She can't even pull her hood over her head because she isn't wearing her jacket - it was too difficult trying to get the sling to work with it. So she just... stands there, watching Kairi with a kind of stunned, nervous expression.]

[The letters had talked about the computer terminals, so Kairi was wandering around looking for one to examine. At first she was looking down and around, taking in everything around her as she walked. But she pauses when in the periphery of her vision she sees a figure.

Coming to a halt before she got in the person's way, she looks up fully now and starts to smile.]

Sorry I wasn't looking- [And then she sees the other girl's face, and her eyes widen. Despite the different hair colors, she looked just like...

And now she just kind of stares back.]

[It was like looking into a mirror, only one where her hair was red and not black. She'd known she looked so much like Kairi, since she saw her so often in Sora's memories.

It was another to see the girl standing in front of her. What should she say, what should she do? She looks down, shy and nervous and hesitant]

Hey. [Oh right, she'd said something] I-it's fine. Don't worry about it.

[Riku's heart is skipping a beat the moment he senses this so very familiar light, merely a few floors above him. Still, he's torn, just like he had been when Sora had appeared - he doesn't really want her to see him like this. It's not really a choice for him to make, not when Kairi is even more vulnerable to the dangers of the tower than Sora.

...Besides, if he tries to avoid her, Namine will be sure to send her his way again anyways.

So he starts climbing up his way from the nineteenth floor... though he isn't too much in a hurry, he does kind of have to figure out first just how to approach this.]

[In the meantime, Kairi's walking up and down the halls. It's quite a place and she's trying to take it all in. As she approaches the stairway, she hears footsteps coming from somewhere. They sound close, and she doesn't want to run into whoever is coming.

She waits at the top, standing to the side of the doorway so the person doesn't walk into her.]

[He hovers a little before the last staircase - her light is so close and it makes his stomach knot with both longing and guilt at the same time. It's been a year since he's seen her, more even if one considers that the last time he had seen her... he hadn't had exactly much time to talk (we won't even go into him not being corporal at the time).

It might seem silly that he's so reluctant (not afraid, never) to see his best friends again, but... there is so much that happened since they've left the Islands, he's changed a lot and considering just how the tower tended to mess with the timeline, it's more enough to make him feel insecure.

He's not going to let himself stopped by that though, frowning at himself as he takes on the last flight of stairs.]

Hallways, later than all the other hallway conversations?

[It was past dinner by now, and Sora wasn't really paying attention as he walked back to his room - not a good idea on the other floors, but no monsters had ever shown up near the dorms, so he isn't nearly as cautious.

But a flash of familiar red hair somewhere on the edges of his vision catches his attention; his heart skips a beat even before he looks up, eyes widening when he finally sees the very familiar figure.

He's not just seeing things, right? That's...]

Kairi!

[Now he's running over to her, with the biggest smile that he can possibly have on his face. She's here! Maybe that wasn't a good thing, with how dangerous the tower is, but...he's just so relieved to see her safe. Just to see her again period, that he can't really think about the danger right now.]

[She's met so many people now, it's a wonder she's still out looking around. But hey, she just couldn't say no to exploring this place.

She passes an intersection of halls and only seconds after she hears her name being called out. She knows that voice. It's a voice she's been waiting and hoping to hear since she learned he was actually in this place.]

Sora? [She whirls around to see him, and the smile on her face speaks volumes about how happy she is to see him.]

You're here! You're okay.

[Not that he had any doubts that she was - not really - but after everything that had happened, he had worried a little. The words are out of his mouth before he can think about them. But, mostly, he just wanted to see her again. He can't stop smiling, and he certainly isn't going to try to.]

When did you get here?

[Darkra has only recently left his own room for the day, and then wandered among the dorms quietly. He wants to visit Aqua, but he doesn't at the same time. So it's pure chance he runs into her, and the moment he lays eyes on her... He freezes. He'd recognize her anywhere, even after nine years. It doesn't mean he won't blank, though.]

[She's met just about everyone she could think of today, even some doubles. But she was still looking, she still hadn't found Sora and she wanted to see him.

But now she doesn't know what to expect, considering Riku said there were two Soras wandering around. Was this the one from 'behind the times' or the one who had tried to-

No. Kairi shakes her head, that had to be some kind of mistake.]

Sora! I finally found you!

And all of da cute!

[She seems so happy. He smiles, happily, and he just scratches the back of his head.]
