Summary: It's training time. Ken's spear still isn't fixed, but he's got his Evoker. Time to hunt Shadows.

[He's been still for too long. Going out at night, hunting Shadows… he's missed it. So quietly, as to not wake anyone, he heads out of his room and down the stairs, looking for something to fight.]

[And he finds it. Blobs of Shadow, there in a corner and over there, too - and the quick movement of a Shadow with too much speed. Lifting his Evoker to his forehead, he fires, summoning Nemesis, dispatching a few with Hama and frying a few more with Zionga.]

[Kanji is still new to the tower, so the sight of the Shadows - especially when the investigation team had beaten them all was, needless to say, incredibly discerning]

What the hell's going on?

[...yet there was a part of him that was a tiny bit excited about the idea of beating them up. Chair: Check. Shadows: Check. Out of the corner, and before he can see Ken, Kanji leaps right into a pile of them, slamming down his chair as they fall back from the recoil.]

Eat this!

[He says it loud enough that anyone else nearby can probably here that. That's when, somewhat comically a bit later than he should have, he notices a kid at the corner of his eyes.]

Shit! Kid, this ain't a place for you to be!

[He runs up to him, punching, kicking the Shadows out of the way like the world's most powerful tank...wait the kid's got a gun.. Kanji's logic: he found the gun somewhere and is using it to stay alive. WHAT CAN GO WRONG.]

Kids shouldn't be firing guns. I'm getting you outta here.

[Yu had been here for a longer period of time, yet there were many things he had to yet be used to. For instance, he didn't exactly have a weapon to fight with anymore, though he did decide to join Kanji to make sure he was alright. Things seemed to be more... "active" at night, after all. So when they arrived to see Shadows, of all things, he was already all the more on edge... yet strangely more at home? It helped to be familiar with what it was you were fighting against, after all.]

[Why were they in the- no, he would not dwell on that thought either. He was too preoccupied by the sight of a kid with a gun in his hands. Yet he wasn't so sure about this; something seemed off about the first assumption that came to mind - the one Kanji no doubt is thinking.]

- Kanji. [Remember Naoto's weapon of choice. Not to mention this kid didn't look to be much older than Shu-kun...

Shaking his head, he isn't too far behind his friend - the human tank - and kicking them as well. Times like this he misses having one of his swords....]

[Another night, another shadow. It's probably a good thing he's behind the other two - this way, they can't see his expression shift from ho-hum to realization to guilt.

He completely forgot to mention the fact that there would be shadows, hadn't he.

Still, Kanji and Yu seemed to be taking it in stride. If anything, they were more focused on the boy with the gun in his hands - except wait, that gun looked fairly familiar. Where had he seen one of those before? Still, there's no time to focus on it now - there's shadows everywhere and he's one of the ones that's at least armed. Driving back one that gets too close with a quick slash, he sticks close to the others]

Damn Kanji, keep up this pace and you'll take care of them yourself.

[ Shadows? Seriously? There was no damn way to escape them! She ran up behind Yosuke to kick and punch at the shadows, although she couldn't help but feel like she should have been watching the kid while they fought...

Possibly take him somewhere safe? So many questions. Though the biggest question of all had to be why the hell did that kid have a gun ]

[Ken shakes his head and takes a step back, wishing that he had his spear repaired.]

Leave me alone! I can handle them!

[He puts his Evoker to his head and pulls the trigger, summoning Nemesis to his aid, shooting off another Hama spell.]

I didn't ask for your help!

[All too late, Kanji's eyes go wide in horror as he sees him pulling the trigger to his head. He tries to run to him to attempt to punch his face or push him away or knock out the gun anything but a little too late and...]

What the hell?! Senpai! Are you seeing what I'm seeing?!

[He's seen Naoto use Hama spells before and Yu as well...This can only mean...]

The Kid's got a Persona!

[Yu just... blinks and nods slightly at what is unfolding. Yes, yes he does see what Kanji is seeing. Currently he is in the midst of a deadpan shock however, leaving him vulnerable to the Shadows for a brief moment. These aren't the same... something is different.

The image of Nemesis was enough for a voice in his head to speak up. A card is crushed in his hand, calling forth Izanagi for now as he casts Zio. These seemed like small fry, anyway.]

...Maybe not, but isn't everyone in this tower in the same situation?

[Well while the GLORIOUS LEADERS talked together, Kanji had somehow managed to move a bit away and looked over at Ken in the 'geeze you're a kid' way.]

So Ken, right? You know why those two look the same?

It will be glorious okay.

[Ken knows that look. He knows that look and he hates it so much. But he looks at 'his' Minato, and then the other Minato, and frowns.]

He told me there was another version of him here that leads SEES. I don't know why there are two of them, but there are.

Anyway, two things. One, don't call me 'kid', my name's Ken. Two, I know how to handle myself probably better than you do.

[At that comment, Kanji stops himself from speaking at first. There is a sort of...mild amusement? strange understanding? Who knows.]

Ha! You've got spunk, Ken. Sides, I just called you by your name and I only called you a kid when I didn't know. I guess I should have said brat instead.

[He cracks his knuckles.]

Yeah yeah, I know the whole saying 'bout the bigger they are and the harder they fall, but trust me, I've got the whole handling myself thing down pretty well. Half of Inaba wasn't afraid of me for nothing.

[He just raises his eyebrows at Kanji's next statement.]

Fear isn't the only way of proving that you can take care of yourself. Try living off the streets for almost two years and then come back and tell me how well you managed.

Yeah, right in the middle of fighting Shadows, what a great idea.

[He scowls a bit. Kids living off the street isn't something he likes hearing about. He sighs somewhat loudly.]

I may have not lived off the streets, but when my dad died, he told me "If you're a man, you have to become strong". Pissed me the hell off as a kid at the time. Thought he just told me off. Changed my looks, even beat up entire biker gangs just cause they made so much noise it kept Ma up at night. At least...until senpai came along.

I can't say how I would'v faired off in the streets, and hell, no one should be there if you ask me. But one thing I learned thanks to Yu and the others is that you gotta make an effort if you want others to understand you. So uh, here. I'll try, if it helps any.

[... He flinches slightly at the mention of a death of a parent. But he can understand that.]

... I only came back to where I used to live because I found the guy who killed my mother. So I can understand that, I guess...

[He'd probably have done the same. Even if he's horribly jealous Kanji still has his mother...]

Strega understands me. They let me help, and they let me fight. They didn't treat me like a kid, and they believed me, when no one else did. That's all I want now. I just want to be treated because of who I am, not because of my age.

[He supposes he should have expected that, what with no longer hiding his Wild Card ability - or the fact that he's a Persona-user in the first place. Then again, he'd stopped the moment another had been in danger just after the collars...

Nope, not going to dwell on it. He glances back, raising an eyebrow as Tam Lin strikes out with Deathbound. Isn't like he has anything to strike with himself other than his fists, right now.]

I'm curious about your Personas. [Personas. Plural. He never thought to meet another Wild Card user, not since he met Minako--Minami, too--and the other Minato.

Ah. [To be honest, he was rather curious about Minato's as well. He's never met another like them before now, either - all of his friends only had their own individual Persona, after all.]

I only know what a friend mentioned, and how I'm able to use Personas in the first place. [Would he believe him about the Velvet Room, unlike the friends he pretty much figured couldn't see the door like everyone else in town? He spares another glance before paying attention to the creatures around them once again. Feel free to ask for specifics.]

[He wonders who is that friend, as well as whether Yu can see the Velvet Room. Go through the velvet door, too. The team couldn't see it back when he first enter Tartarus. So he keep it to himself, since it might make them question his sanity.]

Does your friend help you with Personas?

[They're just dancing around the topic now, and his gaze ends up calling on Minato again. He's starting to wonder about his roommate, now- well, what's the worst thing that could happen.]

[He's not afraid of the dark. His faintly glowing yellow eyes let him see what others can't, piercing through the darkness with ease. Every step he takes is confident, like a master in his own hall. He's heard people mention that there's monsters and horrors and things that Should Not Be in the tower, but he doesn't care. Until he's truly been frightened, he won't believe such a thing is possible.

He hears sounds of fighting and turns in that direction, homing in on what he's sure will be quite interesting.]

[Another one comes up behind him and catches him in the back, so Ken casts a Diarama and retaliates with a Cruel Attack. He's been fighting for a while, but he's used to fighting for long periods of time. He's starting to run out of magic, though...]

[The young man from before... Ken. He was doing an excellent job of holding his own, although the fighting style he was using was unfamiliar. It looked similar enough to magic, though...

Another monster comes up, going for an attack while Ken is busy with the one he's fighting. While there's little doubt the boy could handle such a thing, it's an effective way to make his presence known. With the merest moment of concentration he freezes the monster with Blizzaga.]

[Once he finishes with that shadow - he can't afford to take his eyes off of it at the moment - he looks up at Xehanort.]

You can use magic without a Persona?

[It's strange, and he's not used to it... then again there are a lot of people here from different worlds.]

[He can feel the importance the word carries to Ken in how he pronounces it. It's linked to the ability to use magic... much like for many people, their ability to use magic was only unlocked upon receiving an elemental weapon or a keyblade. Very interesting. It's a shame there's not more time to talk right now.]

Only some people can use it. You have to have the potential, first. And you use one of these.

[He holds up his Evoker.]

A Persona is like... a manifestation of your personality. It's a mask you wear to face the world. People who summon them use them to fight Shadows. There's a lot of different kinds of Persona, but most people can only use one. I do know of a few people who can use multiple ones, though.
