He might not be feeling optimistic, but he's going to do his best to stay calm and keep smiling, for the others' sake. They can get through this, he knows, especially if they stick together. He's got a reassuring smile for anyone who might need one.]
Hi there.
no subject
Hi. Um, I'm, I'm Tara.
no subject
Good to meet ya, Tara. I'm Zidane.

[It has been a hard few days, though he'd grown used to roughing it in the weeks before arriving here.
Having scouted everything out like a good thief, he knows the lay of the land already. He nods ahead, toward the lounge.]
There's food and stuff in here. Everything looks decent.
no subject
She sighs a sigh of utter relief at the mention of food.]
Good. I...I think I kind of need, um, "decent".
no subject
Here, we'll get you set up in a seat. [He leads her toward one of the lounge chairs. And then I'll get you something to eat. And drink. What d'you like? Have any favorites?
[And she looks like she needs some medicine, but he'll ask about what's wrong once she's off her feet.]
no subject
[Wow. Was not expecting even this. Yes, they're teammates, but Tara is still much too used to functioning on her own. So she's a bit flustered for a couple of seconds, before finally forcing out:] Um, w-water. And...um, not really.
[Well, no, that's a lie, but she's not sure if she even dares hope:]
...cake's good if, i-if they have that. [Why not? This is already a fairly nice arrangement, Zidane wasn't kissing.] If they don't? Um, a sandwich. [She's already at the point of being willing to commit a minor felony for a sandwich.]
no subject
Oh, and do you need any stuff for your leg? I'll see if they've got something like that, too. [He's not exactly sure why she's limping, but they must have something.] This place is pretty well-stocked.
[As a guy who has an enhanced skill in checking what's around to be stolen, he has a pretty good feel for the number and type of goods here already.]
no subject
...just, um, s-some pain medicine would be fine. Maybe something to, um, stop bleeding, if they have that. But, it's, i-it's okay, if they don't. I, I can help myself along, after I eat.
no subject
[He hadn't realized it initially, but then, there was a lot going on, and he'd initially been focused on getting her to a place she could rest before dealing with anything else.]
Hold on, I can get someone to help heal you! Just wait right there. I'll be right back!
[[OOC: Is it okay to bring a magic user into the thread to heal her? If not, just let me know. :3]]
no subject
W-Wait!
[If they're meant to be a team, she doesn't want to drag morale down by appearing as week as she is. But, if Zidane already knows...well, if this place is as stocked as he says, there might still be a way.]
I, I can...I can make something. Or, um, you can make something. If, if everything's here.
no subject
[Zidane waits, as requested.]
If you're sure. He's really good at it.
Oh, okay! Like a potion? [He has a few of those, but they're back in his room in the Tower.] I'll try. What's it made out of?
no subject
[It's whether she can get a couple of night's sleep that seems to be up in the air.
Tara rattles off a list of ingredients - some improvised in place of harder to find ingredients, but all of which should be available out of a reasonably well stocked spice cabinet.
Mix in boiling water and say a few magic words.]
no subject
If you change your mind later, he could heal you up in a second.
[But he's not going to press--maybe there's a reason she doesn't want to be healed.
He listens to the ingredients, nodding. He's so used to memorizing scripts that a recipe is easily committed to memory.]
Right, I think I can do that! If they've got all the stuff, that is. And I'll get you some bandages and medicine and anything else they have.
no subject
And, um, if it doesn't work...well, um, your friend can help me.
[And she'll settle down to wait. It should take a bit less than twenty minutes to make the thing, and she can watch him work through the window set into the kitchenette door.]
no subject
[Memorizing and carrying out instructions is no problem for him, and he takes his job very seriously, doing it quickly, yet carefully. He doesn't want to mess this up! Tara's counting on him.
When he's done, he comes right back.]
Here you go! [He hands over the fruit of his labors.] Here's the potion, and here's the medicine. I hope it's okay.
no subject
[She takes the mug currently holding the potion, first giving it a sniff, and then taking a sip. A second's contemplation is enough for her to remember that it tastes right, and then she downs the rest in a few gulps, licking the last few drops from her lips when the mug is empty.
Tara sighs happily when the mug is empty. Yes, this is just what she needed. She already feels a bit more alive, a bit more energetic, even if most of that energy is going to go towards fixing the remainder of the damage.]
Perfect. [She sets the mug on the table to wash in a bit.] I, I think that should do it. I'll be okay, now, or I will, in a couple of d-days. Thank you, again, Zidane.
no subject
Great! I thought I had it right. You feelin better now? [He's not worried anymore, if she says it works; generally there's no need for a healing spell if you have a good enough potion.] And here's some of that pain medicine you asked for.
[He assumes that some additive is needed on top of the potion. Makes sense to him!]
No problem! Now I can see about getting you that sandwich.
no subject
Or so she hopes.]
Much better. [In fact...] You, y-you don't have to. I can probably get it for m-myself, now. [She tries to get up from the couch, finding that she's still a little wobbly, but that standing is already a bit less painful. She smiles over at Zidane.] S-See? Better already.
no subject
[He smiles at her sincerely, cheered to see she's doing better already.]
Well, if you don't mind, I'm gonna come with you, cause I'm starving.
[And if he happens to be there in case she has some trouble, well--all the better.]
no subject
[Anything not to disrupt whatever happy circumstances have led to them getting food again.]
