[Okay. One step and then another. Easy now. Easy... easy...]

[Fuck. His head is spinning. Taro looks up from where he's fallen on the floor in the common area and... ugh. He doesn't want to drop his illusion but he is having trouble maintaining even the bare minimum of effort needed to keep it up, so he pulls himself over to the wall(?) and lets it drop.]

[So now there's a small furry creature with gigantic balls leaning against the wall. Now, Taro is not a creature who takes most things so seriously - it's just not in his nature. But making illusions like this is stepping onto his turf.]

Bastards. You think you can pull this kind of stuff on me? I'm older than you - probably, anyway, you looked pretty young in that video - and I've been messing with making things look like other things before you were probably even born! It's a dirty trick, trying to pull this kind of thing on someone like me. Come out here and let me take a look at you, no head-messing just man to... er. Man to tanuki I guess. Come on, I oughta...

[Suzaku blinked, his head hurt. He was trying to not think about the room because it made no sense, he was avoiding the bedroom he had been given because that made less sense and now there was a small furry creature ranting...]

I doubt they will listen to you...

[Welcome to the land of nonsense, population the entire tower.]

[But he stops and stares at Suzaku, as if he can't believe what he's seeing either.]

First of all ranting is a good stress reliever, maybe you should try it sometime. Second of all you're right, though they can probably hear me.

[He sighs, hunching in on himself a little.]

I could really go for a drink right about now.

[There's nonsense and then there's this... Suzaku shrugged, he wasn't really a ranter he was a fighter and at the moment there was nothing to fight.]

It's probably best not to annoy them then. [Things could always get worse he knew all to well...]

[hachitaro]

Oh, probably. But I'm not scared of them. Facing down seemingly impossible odds against an enemy you barely know with the threat of death is easier if you've done it before. It's not that big of a deal.

[He shrugs a little, an odd gesture on something so animal-like.]

Actually I hope I do annoy them. I'm not much of a fighter usually, but I can if I have to. We'll see how they like a rhino or something staring them down.

[Suzaku blinks but between thinking about the impossible room and listening to this creature talk nonsense he would chose the latter, it made his head hurt less.] A rhino?

[He might have never seen an actual real life rhino but he knew this creature was not one...]

Or something. I don't know, I can turn into lots of things. ... I'm not going to right now though because this place makes me dizzy.

You can change forms? [Okay that made a little more sense, Suzaku had encountered such things here in the tower. He looked around.] It is disturbing.

[hachitaro]

Yep. Natural talent.

[He closes his eyes for a minute. That's a little better.]

So what's your name, kid?

[swordofzero]

[An interesting power, Suzaku nods again.] Suzaku Kururugi, it is nice to meet you... [He paused silently returning the question.]

[hachitaro]

Nice to meet you, too. My name's Taro Watanabe.

[swordofzero]

[Another nod] I guess we should get used to this place, if it is to be our dwelling for a while.

[hachitaro]

I guess so. I'm used to changing where I live pretty often, though, so I don't really get used to any place.

[swordofzero]

[Suzaku nodded at that, he was used to moving round a lot as well. Even if he had a base like when they were based at the university over from Ashford there had still been times where they went away for days or weeks at a time. Places to live had always just been that, temporary shelters.] I think this tower is the longest I've ever been in one place in years.

[hachitaro]

... Really? I'm sorry about that.

[It's normal for him... but he does feel bad about kids having to move so much.]

[He blinks] There is no need to be sorry, my choices were my own.
