They did... sorry... or so they say... I don't know.... but they do experiments or make us play games... they said it was because they saved us... we should help them...

[But the games were so horrible, Taiki would happily help them if they didn't hurt people so much.]

I get that.. it's to show we're grateful, right? It's still weird that they want to make us play games, but sometimes games can be fun. .. Especially when you play with other people, I think.

[Taiki nodded sadly] Yes... but not these games... these games just all end with everyone dying... They aren't fun games... Sorry...

... Dying..? [ .. For a moment she's quiet. ]

Do you mean.. really dying? That happens in these games a lot..?

[notagiraffe]

[Taiki nodded sadly, trying to keep his voice calm even though he was talking of such awful things.] Yes... Really dying though we come back... It still hurts like death...

.. That's.. scary. [ she's never died outside her dreams, but just imagining it.. ]

It seems very painful and scary.. is something like that really going to happen to us?

It is... sorry... But don't be scared... sorry... it's scary... but... [He reached out to take her hand, because dying was scary and seeing others die was worse and so he couldn't really reassure her any other way.]

[ There's some surprise at the contact. Not necessarily the bad kind, just surprise in general - but then she seems almost a little comforted by the fact there's at least someone to hold her hand right here. ]

No... we're not... and it will be alright... I hope...

... You are.. a kind person. If you say we'll be alright, then I'll believe it.

I hope it will be... We just have to keep hoping and not give in...

H-hmm. I won't give in if you won't give in, so.. let's work together. It's a promise.
