Setting: In the mess hall, eating oatmeal. If only it were flavored with faeries...

[The letter was disturbing. Serious, after saving Hyrule from Ganon's evil reign, reversing all of his evil... now this happens? Couldn't it have happened before the whole ordeal with Agahnim, in order to save him some time?]

Grumble-nom-grumble...

[At least he somehow managed to bring over most of his tools. No bombs, and nothing he had to use for the purposes of the Dark World, but... who needed a Moon Pearl here, anyway?]

If there are more of "me", then where was one during the Imprisoning War?

[it was always Link who had to take care of stuff, wasn't it? At least this person made the least amount of sense.]

The person who mentioned the goddesses earlier was... kind of like you. Metallic skin and really hard-looking hair. He said his name was Ghirahim.

Given you guys seem to know me, is this a part of Hyrule or something?

[Totes thinking of the Imprisoned but... No, not possible. Fi and the Master Sword were the seal on Demise, he'd never return.]

We do not know you personally but we are aware of the Heroes bloodline. My Master is Hylia's Chosen Hero, from a time when the name of the Surface was lost but before it came to be called Hyrule.

The Imprisoning War... well, it was a war. That imprisoned Ganon into the Sacred Realm. Sealed by the Seven Sages?

[nobody thought to pass down the bloody details]

So the creepy-vibe I got from him wasn't misplaced?

[sigh. why did freaks always seem to congregate around him?]

Heroes bloodline. People keep on saying I'm descended from the Hylian Knights. And Surface? You come from the sky or something?

I am unfamiliar with it and with the Seven Sages. I am familiar with Ganon, however. He is within this tower.

[That would make lives easier though. Can't have that.]

I was placed in Skyloft, for the Chosen Hero of the Goddess. And I know of at least one of your ancestors that served as one of Hylia's Knights, though I did not meet him.

Ganon's here?! Thank goodness I have silver arrows...

[of course, they were locked up in his trunk. Carrying around everything was getting to be a hassle, so he just took out his Red Mail and master sword]

I don't know anything about my parents, so it feels a bit... weird?

Attempting to kill him will prove quite pointless as the tower revives those who die.

[How does any Link manage to carry so much stuff around? And then have trouble lifting a boulder?]

[the same reason he has to use two hands to handle Biggoron's sword even if he's got the Awesome Mitts. Or can't block with Biggoron's sword if he doesn't have a shield equipped. Nobody knows.]

I have been here for two months now.

[Her gaze has now moved to the weapon he's carrying. It looks different but it is unmistakeable. Another Master Sword. Another Master, though she answered to none of them since she entered her slumber.]

[were her eyes boring into the sword at his side? It was difficult to tell, given she didn't have pupils. At the very least the gaze couldn't be called subtle]

[taking out the sword, he unsheathed it to show to Fi]

... come to think of it, what are you, anyway? My guess would have been a faerie or some sort, but... you're different, somehow.

[however, another thing she said caught his attention. she's from the past. but she's only been here for two months. if she's from his past, and she received the same letter he did when she woke up here... how could their world have been destroyed? this may require further study.]

I do know about it, yes. I know much more about it than any Hero within this tower.

[She can still see the Goddess Sword in the design, even after it was tempered to become the Master Sword, regardless of the colors changing slightly.]

I am the spirit of that sacred sword. The Master Sword and I are part of each other.

[now he just feels a bit awkward putting the sword in plain view when he went to relieve himself in the bushes. Or that one time when he used the sword to slice up a chicken for dinner ~~okay, so the chicken instead decided to gang up on him, but still~~]

[Fi disappears for a moment, an orbs of Fi-colored energy entering his sword. It glows for a moment and then stops as Fi returns from inside the blade.

And she repeats:]

I had no idea that the sword had a spirit.

So, uh. What was my ancestor like?

Most heroes are unaware of that fact. Once my Master completed his quest, my consciousness faded into the Master Sword.

[So direct that she probably irritates everyone she meets.]

He was Chosen by the goddess herself to defend the Surface from Demise's return. His bravely faced several obstacles to save Her Grace, reborn as the mortal woman, Zelda. He is the only Hero that I know of here in this tower, who has successfully gathered all three pieces of the Golden Power, left by the Old Ones.

["You can damage enemy targets by bludgeoning them with the Goddess Sword." No, no I think it's the autotune]

Zelda's a goddess?

[that doesn't sound like the Zelda he knew. But if it were a past Zelda, one of her ancestors... huh.]

The three pieces. I've only seen the whole thing, myself.

She is the reincarnation of Hylia. She has the blood of the White Goddess. None of the Zelda's here have awakened to Hylia's memories, however.

He proved he was worthy of Wisdom, Power and Courage. Am I to assume you collected all three pieces as well?

[Two Links doing that would be... something else entirely.]

You may care for the sword however you wish. It was crafted by a goddess and tempered in the flames of the Old Ones. There is little that can be done to damage it in any way.

Hmm. So there are different Zeldas here, too...

[he can't help but wonder if his Zelda made it here as well]

Well, I collected the Pendants of Virtue, which were named Power, Courage, and Wisdom.

But yeah. If you're talking about Triforce pieces, the Triforce was whole when I found it.

Two of them. Her Grace was here but disappeared already. One Zelda is a hero, carrying the Master Sword as well. The other, a princess.

[Sadly, Fi can't confirm or deny whether this Zelda is his or not.]

I am not familiar with those pendants.

I will assume that collecting those pendants were the trials for being worthy of the entire Triforce.

Well, actually, those pendants were the prerequisite for obtaining the Master Sword.

[she didn't know? aaaaaawkward]

The Triforce just needed me to kill Ganon. Ganondorf was the leader of a ring of thieves in the past, and obtained the Triforce. The Dark World I mentioned was warped due to the darkness in his heart, reflected onto the world by the power of the Triforce.

[She was asleep for thousands of years, give her some credit.]

I see. Previously, it was simply that the bearer must be the Chosen Hero. The Old Ones must have placed addition requirements and trials to acquire it.

The Triforce, I recall, was used to destroy his predecessor: Demise. It is logical that it would be needed again to defeat him as well.

So. Is there anything else about this tower I should know?

There are a few things, yes. Death is not permanent, but I do not recommend risking injury. Especially this month while the tower is not operating as it should.

There are many people here from different times and different worlds, not everyone will know the things that seem normal where you are from.

And during the night, there are monsters released in the tower. The dorm areas are usually the safest during the night.

[yes, yes they are. which is why after this guy the next console Link from then on had to have a companion]

I'm not used to being called "Master".

... if this Tower operates the way it "should", I don't think I'd want to see much of it while it's not operating very well. Not that I have a choice, though.

It's been tempered and thrown into a lake to make Golden, but yes. Yes he does.
