{01} Intro
Characters: Aphrodi and whoever he bumps into!
Setting: Room 1-18 for most of the morning, everywhere else in the afternoon
Format: Action, but I can match!
Summary: enter obligatory confused!introduction! And perhaps a little bit of sulking around since he doesn't want to be here.
Warnings: teeny reference to death, possibly language and um, that's it for now. Will update if needed!
[Room 1-18]
[ The first thought that pops into Aphrodi's head when he wakes up and finds he can't move is that, damn, he's dead again. The fact that he even had to wake up in the first place was a huge giveaway to something weird having happened but once the sleep paralysis passes, things stop making sense.
He can get up. So he's... still kind of alive. Okay, that's always a good thing. Aphrodi tugs at his collar a few times to try and get it off but it refuses to budge. That's not so okay. It's not the kind of thing he usually wears, and plus its implications are rather scary to think about (being owned by something is certainly not what he planned to do in his remaining days on Earth. Or not Earth, it seems). And then he sees the notes, which makes things even more not-okay, and then he starts to panic a little.
So, fellow dwellers of Room 1-18, you have yourselves +1 roommate (still in the clothes he woke up in) currently obsessively brushing his hair, generally being jittery and pacing the room and some feathers scattered about. He tried to pick them up at first and put them on a pile on his bed but gave up. ]
[Everywhere Else]
[ Aphrodi managed to calm himself down by the time the afternoon rolled around and finally got himself dressed into something more casual -- although the collar is still annoying and wouldn't come off, so it's covered with a scarf that only kind of matches the outfit. He's stomping around and trying to memorise every single room and corridor that he comes across.
Not to mention he's kicking a soccer ball around because he finds that dribbling it helps keep him grounded when he's in a situation where he has no idea what else to do; what better than to keep on doing what's familiar? He'd already thanked whatever gods (and himself, of course) brought his soccer ball along with the rest of his stuff.
...He's not being too observant, so if he does bump into someone or kick the ball at them a little too hard, it's completely on accident. ]

If you mean by "new" that I've just been brought to this... place, then yes.
no subject
[Surprisingly, that gets a big smile from him!]
My name's Link, but there's a bunch of other Links here, so... you can call me Sea instead!
[This guy looks seriously worried, though...
He steps closer then, reaching up and grabbing Aphrodi's hand to sit him down on one of the beds.]
Are you worried about those dumb letters, mister?
no subject
Never mind. He'll ask later. ]
Okay, Sea. Nice to meet you. I'm Aphrodi. [ Headpats for Sea, then. Good boy.
Aphrodi falls to the bed in the most dignified manner he can manage with all the feathers still on there. ]
"Dumb Letters"? [ He frowns. They didn't look very dumb to him. ]
Are they a joke or something?
no subject
Not a lot of people believe them, and it especially can't be true for the world I come from!
[... Your name is really girly, Mister Aphrodi.
The expression he gets is rather foreign on the face of someone his age, though; something you'd expect to see on the face of a crime fighter, or a veteran.
Or a hero, really.]
This places is really terrible, Mister Aphrodi. It takes people from all sorts of different places to do really bad things to them, even worse than anything we've seen at home!
Sometimes things are done to the people, sometimes this place makes the people fight each other.
[And then he goes quiet for a moment; it's not often he speaks this much, to tell the truth.]
... I'm sorry this place took you, Mister Aphrodi.
no subject
He'll pay Sea his full attention and... Aphrodi doesn't like the sound of it at all. As he watches the little kid -- who can't be older than ten -- explain about the "really bad things", his own expression goes stony.
It's not even that he's scared of what will happen to himself; he's scared of what has already happened to people like Sea. ]
You can't be sorry for something you didn't do. [ Is it okay if Aphrodi gives you a hug, Sea? Because you're going to get one anyway. ]
no subject
No, see... the people who run everything won't ever apologize, so someone has to, right?
But it's okay! We just have to make the best of it, and we can't give up, or that means they win.
[No matter what this place sends him through, he's never going to give up - that's his unbreakable spirit as the Hero, after all!]
no subject
No, if they're not apologising themselves then no one should be doing so in their place. [ Their mess, they ought to take care of it. Not little kids to carrying messages that weren't even sent. ]
That's the spirit! [ Aphrodi gives a encouraging smile! He's got a better grasp on this place now, if only barely, and that does quell the panic he was feeling earlier. ] I'll help you, okay? [ Mother hen mode: ACTIVATED. Like hell he's going to let a little kid run around. ]
no subject
[Plus he's actually pretty damn dangerous in a fight, but Aphrodi can always figure that out at some point!
Hopefully he doesn't mind the little kid scrambling into his lap, though. New friends are always good!]
no subject
He laughs a little and pats Sea's head. ]
Sure. We'll get the bad guys, okay?
no subject
[Link's definitely alright with this turn of events - especially since they share a room! He has someone he can talk to all night if he wants, now!]
Oh - are you a good fighter, Mister Aphrodi? If not it's okay, I'm good at fighting!
no subject
Hmm? [ ...Aphrodi isn't sure how to respond to hearing that this kid is a good fighter. Humour him? Sure, why not. ] Sure am! Don't worry, I can take care of myself and you, if you want.
no subject
Look -
[He scrambles off of Aphrodi's lap then, to pick up the Master Sword that was laying under his sheets at that moment, before hopping up onto his bed.]
I know how to fight, and I can fight any nasty thing that bothers my friends and me!
But if you're a good fighter, that's okay too.
no subject
Although it's pretty obviously his, since it came from his bed and all.
Aphrodi stands corrected. But it won't make him fret over Sea anymore than he would have. ]
That's a pretty impressive sword you have there. [ Real and pointy and probably really ouchie. ]
You have Brothers? [ ...more people to shepard into his own brand of protection. ]
no subject
... Sort of! They're not really my brothers though, just really close friends.
Some of them are Heroes, like me! And some of them... not as much.
But we're not really related.
no subject
I see. It's close enough though, right? [ Aphrodi smiles and rests his head in his hands. ] You don't need to be related by blood to be brothers.
no subject
[Not being part of the Hero's bloodline still bothers him, though. All of the other Links are related, but he...]
Do you have any brothers, Mister Aphrodi?
no subject
Say, what do you do here for fun?
no subject
There's not a lot to do, right now. Something's wrong with this place right now, otherwise there'd be better power and more people around.
But sometimes I go swimming, or I look at the fish in the aquarium!
And I really like to draw! The workshop place has a lot of paper and things to color with!
[He can draw Aphrodi if he wants!!]
no subject
Really? It sounds pretty big. [ ...He's surprisingly innocent amongst all this, especially after what he said earlier. ]
I'm sure you draw well. Do you have any of the drawings up here?
no subject
[And he hops off the bed again, running over to his trunk and throwing it open to rifle through it.
He pulls out a stack of paper and a box of well worn crayons, toddling over to Aphrodi's bed and climbing onto it with a grin!]
I've got some pictures in here, and if you want, we can draw together!
no subject
Okay! Let's do that then.
no subject
Are you good at drawing, Mister Aphrodi?
no subject
[ He's good at everything. At least, he's certainly got enough time on his hands to get good at everything. ]
Also, you should just call me Aphrodi! Mister makes me feel old. [ And he's not old yet. ]
no subject
[He was just being polite, whoops.;;; But if that's what his friend wants!]
How old are you, anyway? You look really young!
no subject
I'm fourteen. How old are you?
