[After finding out the tower's been restocked, Genda's well past raided the fridge by now - he's cooked everything he knows how, prepared tons of homestyle meals, and now?
He's got it all spread out on a table and he is stuffing his face.
Genda's also made sure to avoid anything he deems inedible, too. Which means no poisonous foods, and definitely no vegetables, yuck.

You're free to the food too, of course! As it is, he's probably going to offer anyway.
... Not that he wouldn't be able to eat it all himself.]

[Hold on Aphrodi, his jimmies are a bit ruffled by Genda's comment.]

That doesn't matter! Even if they have feelings or not, it's still wrong to separate them! That would be like if you took an infant from their family. They can't remember anything of their previous family but the fact that they were taken away still stands!

[He puts the penguins to the side then - giving them to Aphrodi, really - so he can stand, obviously a bit ruffled as well. Sorry, 'Phrodi.]

That isn't the same at all, Kidou!
Do you even know how families work with birds?
You're projecting human concepts and feelings on animals that don't have them - it isn't fair to anyone! Not us or the birds!

[ He'll take the penguins, but puts one of them down so he can stand as well. He doesn't like being on the floor when everyone is standing.

Aphrodi doesn't want to take a step back from what looks to be a building argument if he can stop it. ]

You don't understand!

[He clenches his fists more and stares at the ground, visibly shaking with frustration.]

You don't understand what it's like to be taken away from your family...!

[Genda almost puffs up like that, like a cat.]

You're bringing unnecessary feelings into this, Kidou!
Your past has no meaning in this conversation at all!

[You aren't the birds, Kidou.]

[ This is incredibly awkward for him.

He turns to Kidou first. ]

M- Maybe you shouldn't bring in personal feelings to this...?

[ And then, to Genda, if he's even listening. ]

And maybe you should calm down a little...

[ Why does he get the feeling that he's going to get ignored... ]

[He snaps his head back at Genda and takes a few steps forward. He hears Aphrodi, but he can't help but continue arguing, not when he's this frustrated.]

Unnecessary? Unnecessary?

[He looks like he's about to jump Genda at any moment...] My parents died and I get separated from the only family I have left and you're telling me my feelings are unnecessary?! [He's almost screaming at this point.]

Who the hell do you think you are?!

[whatpenguin]

[He's holding his ground, and maybe even takes a step forward to loom over Kidou. Like a lion.

Sorry, Aphrodi - but Kidou has crossed lines that Genda can't stand - which means he's instinctively grabbing Kidou by his collar, nearly snarling now.]

Don't you dare put words in my mouth - you don't have that right!

[errandwings]

[ ...yeah that didn't work. But it seems to have progressed to actual contact now which is going to snowball, no doubt. ]

H- Hey!

[ Aphrodi puts down the last penguin and steps up also, tugging a little at Genda's shirt to pull him back. ]

[pengeen]

[He's going to grab onto Genda's wrists then]

And you don't have the right to talk about being taken away from your family; You don't understand how it feels at all!

[Having both of them holding onto him is extremely grating, especially with how pissed off he's getting - so not only is he shaking Aphrodi off, but he's going to give Kidou a sharp shove away from him.]

You're wrong - I do understand! You and Sakuma were my family!

You didn't - you didn't even think of me when you left me behind!

[He... doesn't really mean to bring this up now - but it's the closest thing to that kind of separation Genda has ever felt. Growing up with no siblings, but such close friends, only to be left without them....
It hurt just as bad, to him!]

[ Aphrodi lets go and takes a step back, waiting for an opportunity to split this up. He hopes this doesn't get further than a few shoves because if anyone throws a punch, he will step between.

He feels like he's intruding on something extremely private in the first place, as the argument went from penguins to something far too personal for his liking. ]

and then kidou puked all his feelings onto the floor whoops

[pengeen]

[He stops for just a second before shaking his head]

That's not the same! That's not even close! Even though we left you behind, we were still friends; We could still visit you and play soccer with you!

You have no idea how.... how terrifying it was to be taken away from Haruna! I didn't even get a choice! I had to leave my little sister all alone with others who bullied her and made her feel absolutely terrible; and I couldn't even call her or send her letters or visit her! I wasn't allowed to see my own family! [There may or may not be tears glazing over his eyes behind his goggles as he brings this up. Admitting this was painful.]

I was the only person who could take care of Haruna, and I left her behind. You have no idea how terrible that feels. [He's starting to calm down now, though it's more turned into depression then anything.] I...

I don't know how she could forgive me after that...!

[whatpenguin]

[Genda's anger simmers right down, now - and he lets out a sigh. ... Kidou's still one of his best friends, so seeing him like this...]

... I guess you're right - I don't understand how you felt. But I think I may know how Haruna had.

Though, that isn't the point.

[There, he pauses, just for a second - so he can sweep his friend into a hug. He may be hurting right now - honestly, he's hurting a lot! - but to him, the feelings of his friends always come first. If they have legitimacy, anyway.]

... She forgave you because it... wasn't your fault, Kidou.
And because she loves you. It's... a given, for family to always love each other, isn't it?

... I mean, I guess I don't understand that either, since I've been an only child all my life.
But that's how it works, isn't it?

[ Aphrodi immediately relaxes when it seems like the fight has dissolved down to a feelings-fest, but Kidou's confession makes his eyes tear up. He can't even pretend to understand whatever feelings are being brought up, having never had a family or siblings like Kidou, or a team as tight as Teikoku seems to be.

It's horribly awkward for him to be standing at one side and feeling like he shouldn't even be there in the first place. Originally, he had stayed because he was scared it would escalate to a brawl, but... now there's no reason for him to stay.

Especially since Genda and Kidou are making up in a hug right now. He backs away a little more, lingering for the sole reason of making sure that the issue is really resolved before leaving. ]

[pengeen]

[He shakes his head] I don't understand it, though!

[He rests his forehead against Genda's chest] I can never forgive myself for that.... so why can she? Why can she when she is the one who suffered?

[whatpenguin]

I think you're projecting your own feelings on someone again, Kidou.

She didn't seem too unhappy with her family, did she?
Haruna's grown up to be a happy girl - I don't think she suffered as much as you like to believe.

[... And he's grabbing the hem of Aphrodi's shirt before he can really go anywhere.]

You don't have to leave, Aphrodi - you heard the conversation, so you're a part of it now.

[errandwings]

[ Aphrodi flails a little and tugs his shirt back.

He shakes his head. ]

No, it's okay. I should have left earlier before I intruded.

[pengeen]

[Upon hearing Genda's words, his eyes widen a bit at the realization. He... really does put his feelings before everyone else's, doesn't he? His voice is a bit quiet, and his arms drop to his sides.] ...I'm sorry.

[He then moves himself out of Genda's embrace and offers Aphrodi a small smile.] No, I was the one who intruded, really.

I'm sorry you had to witness that in the first place.

[whatpenguin]

[Genda finally smiles again as well, and brings a hand up to place on Kidou's head.]

Maybe we should all do something new, to forget about all this. It kind of sounds like we could use a break.

And when I say "all", I mean you too, Aphrodi!

[errandwings]

[ Aphrodi only shakes his head at Kidou. He doesn't get why Kidou should be sorry -- he clearly had a lot on his mind.

He ends up stunned at the invitation and only manages a splutter and a shake of his head because it catches him off guard. ]

[pengeen]

[He chuckles lightly at Aphrodi's reaction before turning his attention to Genda.] I'll have to decline your offer, sorry.

I'm pretty drained after all of that, so I'm going to lay down for a little while. [And after a second of hesitation.]

[whatpenguin]

... [That gets a chuckle.]

Yes, it's fine. I can think of something for me and Aphrodi to do, anyway.
Right, Aphrodi?

[Sorry bro - you're one of Genda's pals, now! YOU CANNOT ESCAPE.
RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.]

[ He nods, but the bemused look doesn't go away. ]

I- I hope you rest well, then.

[pengeen]

Thanks. [He bows slightly in thanks to both of them and heads off, his smile turning into a bothered frown once he's on the next floor; Not that they can see it, though.]
