Summary: Not content with just doing nothing in her room, Midna explores the immediate vicinity. Shadow form also available.

[This is all wrong.]

[Just when all the pieces were coming together. ~~Literally.~~ The Mirror of Twilight was right there. Her only way home, but instead of the familiar beauty of the Twilight, she wakes to white. Sterile. Unable to move. With nothing else to go by than the words on those letters.]

[The Twili was upset.]

[Her chance at Zant was ripped away from her yet again. Mere destruction wasn't close to what he deserved. And it wasn't what the Twilight Realm deserved.]

[I saved you. Let's be happy here.]

[What a joke. What was the point in saving her if she couldn't save her own home?]

[Merely doing nothing won't satisfy Midna. Removing the suit and donning the Fuse Shadow fragment, she journeyed off into the halls. So long as they don't initially see her, Midna takes up her shadow form in the presence of any wandering passerby.]

[ Most people will not have noticed Midna in her shadow form. Ganondorf doesn't spot her either, no instead he feels... A presence, a power or rather, the trace of a power. The sign a power has been used on her-

He can't say if it is one of his past victim hiding... But if what he has heard in the tower is right, then another him may have done it...

So Ganondorf doesn't stop and keeps walking for now, feigning not to have noticed her presence. This might not be the Ganondorf whose power cursed her, but the evil, the presence was most definitely very similar. ]

[Midna felt it too. The unmistakable power she's felt enough times by the hand of her own.]

[The same power that fueled Zant's new magic.]

[Her eye scoured the hall, looking for the traitor. But she found only this person. The person who emitted the power.]

[That magic is a dark power that only he possesses...]

[Ganondorf.]

[It had to be him. Or, at the very least another agent of his. He was powerful, she could sense it. Confronting him alone would be suicide. But she had to be sure who this was.]

[And so she followed him, hidden in his shadow.]

[ It is not a wise choice that to hide in the shadow of the Evil King, for that his own shadow is an evil weapon in itself. of course, the imp could not know that... It is probably vulnerable to light if it can hide there...

When he reached the end of the corridor, he stopped... ]

Let us end this charade.

[ With a move of his head, a magical barrier closes the exits to the corridors- All the exits. He doesn't move from his spot, instead speaking to whatever it was that was hiding. ]

Reveal yourself or I'll obliterate you.

[~~Oh so that's why it feels so gross :T~~]

[A shock went through Midna at hearing his words. Instinct screamed at her to run, but his magic worked faster than her reaction. She was trapped, confined in a place with someone whose magic far exceeded her own in this form.]

[No matter what she did, chances were not in her favor.]

[So she complied.]

Fine, you caught me. Want a prize? [Her voice feigned ignorance.]

[ ~~What Phantom Ganon is glorious.~~

Ganondorf looked at the imp and couldn't help but smile mockingly. Oh so that's what was hiding in his shadow... Didn't look like much, but if one of his counterpart felt it necessary to employ his magic on her, she had to be something something special.

He chuckled at her words. ]

A prize? Now that you mention it, that headpiece of yours would make for a fine decoration in my castle.

[ His smile faded as one of his twin sword appeared in his hand. ]

Alternatively I could be satisfied with your life.

[~~Gloriously gross~~]

[It was hard to see if he was bluffing. His words were chosen carefully, but he didn't seem to know who she was.]

[Who she really was.]

And what would you get from killing me I wonder. There seem to be plenty of satisfying hunts merely stalking the halls.

[ He looks at her silently for a while, his face neutral. Alright, apparently this little one won't want to speak, or rather not that quickly. Yet, Ganondorf has no patience at this exact moment. ]

Yet none of them are cursed with magic of old only I can use.

[ With that being said, he suddenly extends an hand to Midna- He doesn't try to touch her, no. It's like, he's trying to absorb what little of his magic has been used on her. As though he is trying to remove the curse that has been cast by one of his alternate self.

As he does that, the mark of the Triforce can clearly be seen on the back of his hand. And it's probably quite painful for the while it lasts. He makes sure the little imp can't float away, a half-result would be really quite awful.

When he's done removing the curse though...-- ]

[It went both ways.]

[How foolish of her to not realize. Of course it did. If she could sense his magic, then surely enough he could sense it in her. Zant was given only a fragment of power and he still managed to overturn the Twilight Princess.]

[He wasn't able cause this much pain in the process.]

[Midna yelped the moment Ganondorf held out his hand, falling to the ground as the process slowly coursed through her body. It was agonizing, deliberately so, and the Twili couldn't stop it. Run. Get away from him. Her mind was screaming, but her body couldn't listen.]

[And finally it stopped. Gasping each breath, Midna weakly pushed herself up-]

[What?!]

[Her eyes widened at the sight. Her body...it was back to the way it was before Zant's curse. No longer imprisoned in the form of an imp. She turned her gaze to the man, terrified above all else.]

W-what did you-?

[ It's been a long time since Ganondorf has had occasion to cause harm to anything but monsters. With all what happened recently, torturing Midna in the process proves to be an excellent stress reliever.

He grins when it ends and her true form is revealed. ]

So, that's what he did...

[ He laughs. Oh, very ingenious alternate self. And cruel, to trap that woman into such a pathetic form. And she looks important... ]

I have lifted the curse that was once cast upon you. Now if you desire to keep assuming your true form, tell me who you really are.

[ strike>The sad part being he'll put it back no matter what option she picks. Douche? Ganon? Now... ]

[The even sadder part being that Midna wasn't trusting him either way.]

[Call it a stubborn streak of hers, or to this person foolishness, but the woman let out a weakened laugh as she slowly stood herself up.]

How tragic. [Her voice was still shaken from the pain, yet it remained as indignant as ever.] To think the puppet's own master cannot recognize his work.

[Her gaze narrowed.]

Ganondorf.

[ Even more tragic is Midna wasting probably the only chance she'll ever have to get back true form. Oh well. ]

So you know who I am...

[ There is only another Link who deduced who he was in this tower, yet had never met him before. This Link was also from another timeline. And this Link mentioned someone named- ]

Zant... He is certainly an interesting puppet, isn't he? One I'd really like to meet.

You see, I am from what you would call the future. Or maybe it is the past or an alternate reality? One where the Gods destroyed Hyrule and its affiliated realms. One where I never had the pleasure to meet you or Zant.
