Case 1 - A Strange Land [Open]

Summary: Raidou searches for the boss battle he has to kill in order to escape this nightmare.
Warnings: None yet!

[Waking up in strange places was not necessarily a habit, even if it was not something he had been unaccustomed to. However, Gouto's absence made this far more sinister than he had expected. Upon reading the note, his first resort had been to retrieve his blade. His second was to slip silently from the dormitory room to explore the halls.

...some savior the writer of that note had been. From the looks of this place it was no safer than the world he had left.

A pang of guilt stirred in his chest at the thought. If it was true- No. No, that was not possible. They were going to stop the insects. Nobody was going to destroy the world he had sworn to protect. But what the nagging thought wouldn't leave. Raidou did not so much run as bolt down the hallways, his boots clattering on the floor. If this was another trick of the enemy then there should be an enemy to defeat in order to return home.

He'd just have to take down anything that tried to stop him in order to find it. This had to be an illusion.

He really hoped so, anyway.]

[He gets a wary look back, though that's pretty much April's default to when she meets new people.]

No. I got brought here a few months ago and have been stuck here since.

[Months? But she's an American, right? How can that be if the world was only just destroyed? This discussion, short as it was, was already bringing up so many questions. He stared back at her almost expressionlessly.]

Did you see a cat around here?

[Don't actually call her an American or she might get pissy.

But she shakes her head at his question, frowning faintly.]

Not recently... But what does the cat look like?

Entirely black. He's very slender and has green eyes.

[Of course the most pressing issue is the cat. He has to hope that Gouto has hidden somewhere safe.]

His name is Gouto-Douji.

[April rubs the back of her neck as she thinks to herself. Though after a few moments, she shakes her head.]

... I'm sorry, but I haven't seen a cat like that around here.

[Long-shot, but still... worth the try.]

What is the last thing you remember before you came here?

Um, I was busy repairing an old computer console at home. One moment I was doing that, and then the next I woke up here.

[Well this is weird. Nothing about giant locusts, huh?]

There was no impending disaster?

[technologic]

No, not really. My home is pretty dangerous anyway, but it was just like most other days there.

... Why? Is there something wrong?

[kudas_to_you]

[He nodded again, pausing for a moment to gather his thoughts.]

The note said the world was destroyed.

[...despite his rushed movements before, his voice at least sounds entirely steady.]

Ah, you're new, that makes sense...

[She nods a few times, 'hmm'-ing to herself.] To be honest, I think the note is bullshit. And you'll find that the people here have varying opinions about if our homes are destroyed, though none of us know for sure if our worlds are actually destroyed or not.

... And I'm guessing you thought I was from your world, huh?

[A nod.]

There is more than one?

[The idea of multiple worlds was... absurd. But then, would demons not also count as absurd? Everything was absurd until you confront it. Then did that mean that everything absurd had the potential to become reality?]

Yep, it seems so. I'm from a post-apocalyptic wasteland which was once England, for example.

Who is behind it all?

[technologic]

Four administrators called Riki, Dax, Jason and Zo... But we have no idea where they actually are in the tower, since some places are completely sealed off.

What do the seals look like?

[technologic]

There aren't actually any seals... It's more like places that we can't see or get to unless something happens or they allow it.

For example, I know there's a control room, but it's impossible to get to since there's no way there right now.

[This could be a problem. Although he has faced down worse...]

Do they ever come out?

[technologic]

Not often. And from what I know, it's difficult to get anywhere near them.

But sometimes one of them will appear on the towers computer network, and that's usually our best chance to at least talk to them.

There must be some way to get to them.

[technologic]

There probably is, we just need to find it. All we can do for now is to keep trying until we find something.

[kudas_to_you]

[Another firm nod, slower this time. This woman is helpful.]

I will help.

[technologic]

[She gives a nod back and gives him a faint smile.] I'm glad to hear it.

... Though, ah, is there anything else I can help you with?

[He managed to smile back, although the thought that his world was in the hands of an old man, a teenage girl, a cat (presumably), Narumi and Dahn would be enough to put off even Tae's constant smiles. What can he do...]

This tower. Is it sealed off?

[technologic]

... No. There's some parts of the staircase that are outside the tower and there's a floor here that has no walls, but falling from both would kill you and the fog outside can apparently shred you apart anyway.
