Characters: Ruler/Jeanne (
faithstaynight) & YOU!
Setting: Floor 4
Format: Action, but I'll match if you want.
Summary: Jeanne has killed a man and snapped badly at another all within the span of less than a week. Poor girl is sulking, big time.
Warnings: N/A
[Guilt. Guilt was a thing Jeanne did not like to deal with. During her first life and her second, she had always done her best to live honestly, to mind her actions and make sure she would not do anything she would regret. But here, in the tower... it seems events were being thrown at her just to stress her out.
And so that guilt caused Jeanne to retreat again, to just... take a break and ignore things for a while. She wanted to avoid the Cathedral for a while; she knew it was unlikely to happen again, but if there was an encounter like the one with Aleph, with her in this state? It would've ended badly. Very badly. Instead she simply chose to collapse in the lounge. And what is she doing in the lounge? What any distraught Catholic would do, of course: pray.
She doesn't exactly look like she wants to be bothered, with her head bowed and hands clasped together as she mutters softly, but that certainly won't stop some people from approaching. Right?]

[But what he does do is turn into a small kitten and wander over to her, sitting next to her and purring.]

Just where did you come from...?

.. Okay, I'm sorry. ]
.. Hey, Ruler! That's you, isn't it?
no subject
Ah, hello Leon... [She smiles a little, straightening up from her hunched over position.] Yes, it's me. How are you doing today?
no subject
[ aside from classmates arriving, but even that isn't weird by now - he's used to it, honestly, and unless maizono comes back it isn't even that awkward anymore either. ]
How about you, huh? Hanging out by yourself here?
no subject
But I'm happy to hear that you are doing fine, Leon.

Recognizing her as someone who had helped her in her initial post, she smiled and approached.]
Ah... hello? Ruler-san...?
[And then she realized what she was doing, and frowned. Oh dear. She had interrupted something private.]
A-ah... I didn't realize you were busy... my apologies...
no subject
Ah, no, do not worry yourself, mademoiselle! You were not interrupting me.
no subject
Are you sure? You looked to be in the middle of something private...

[She smiles, but it's not a very happy one. It doesn't reach her eyes at all.]

He was sure she wouldn't mind another person to pray beside her. Romano makes his way to her side and kneels. He takes out his rosary, the only thing he bothered snatching from his trunk, and started to pray as well.]

When she's done, she turns her head so she can fully face the boy.]
What troubles you, little one?

...I've been sucked into Purgatory... and there was a lying note and people I've never seen and things I've never heard and you're the only normal person here -- so I must be in Purgatory.
no subject
This is not Purgatory. Those notes... it is debatable on whether or not they speak the truth. Some people believe that most of what is written down is nothing but a lie. But they are right when they say that you were taken away from your home.
[At least, that's what she thinks they say. She's still not very good at reading.]

Her head whips up, and she instantly spots the man. He seems... not all that happy. It might be bad to approach him if he's not in a good mood, but she'd rather get a sense of who he is while she has the opportunity.]
Ah... are you feeling all right, monsieur?
no subject
[Just embarrassed and irritated and somewhat sad.]
Though it does help to be looking at a cute girl like you.

So, he sat down in the pew nearby, and quietly waited for her to finish.]

Is something the matter?

[He smiled. And belatedly realized oh yeah this is the first time he'd met her that wasn't a dream oh well.]
Everything OK?

[...he's a bad Catholic these days, so he does approach; settling beside her without a word of invitation. Maybe he's growing a little concerned for your safety again, kiddo.]
Ma chere, what is wrong?
\o/!!
... And then she kicked herself again, because there's no way she can lie and say she's okay, that everything will be fine and she's got a handle on her emotions. Not to him.
She sighs.]
Several things. The past few days... have left me somewhat conflicted.
[Just a bit of an understatement, there.]
