Ed and Sollux had parted ways and he, for one, wasn't complaining. He had more important things to do. Things like finding out if this letter was for real. Somewhere in this tower he would find what he was looking for. I mean, Amestris couldn't be gone... right?

True, but even identical twins aren't completely the same. Their personalities are different, maybe one has a slightly bigger nose than the other or has a gap in their teeth while the others are perfectly straight. Twins are still related, they're not the same person.
