2nd Mission

Characters: Rolo Lamperouge and YOU
Setting: 7th floor (Swimming pool),14th Floor (Media/game room), 28th Floor (Music room),
Format: Both are fine. I'll follow.
Summary: Rolo's just wandering around the tower, feeling rather bored.
Warnings: He won't bite unless provoked.

[7th Floor (Swimming pool)]
It was a spur of the moment thing really. Killing monsters gets rather boring after a while and Lelouch hasn't given him anything specific to do, so here Rolo is at the swimming pool. He examines it for a bit then decides to go for a swim after finding suitable swimwear in the lockers. Anyway, he had to keep himself in top condition for whatever might happen next. He's now quietly doing laps round the pool, concentrating on nothing but his own movements.

[14th Floor (Media/Game room)]
After his swim, Rolo ends up in media/game room. Once again, he examines everything in the room carefully. It's a force of habit from all his training. He just won't take unnecessary risks. Then he settles on a shooting game which he goes through rather mechanically with his perfect aim. He doesn't understand how this is fun. However, it feels somehow reassuring to be given an objective and a mission so he continues 'playing'.

[28th Floor (Music room)]
Finally, Rolo make his way to the music room. He is somehow drawn to one of the pianos and runs his fingers over the keys. During that year of fake memories, his older brother had taught him how to play a bit. He wonders if Lelouch would continue teaching him if he asked. Should he ask?

After a long pause, he sits down and starts playing some very simple tunes rather hesitantly. Somehow he feels a little happy.

Rolo immediately stops swimming and treads water when he feels something coming towards him, He tenses, hands reaching out for his... Dammit, he hasn't got his knife with him. He'll have to rely on hand-to-hand combat and his Geass then should the person coming towards him be hostile.

Ah. chaos nodded to himself when he saw the young boy in the pool. So that was who he was sensing. The boy looked a little worried though..however, since this Tower was dangerous, the boy was probably worried that he was going to hurt him.

"Good afternoon. I am sorry if I frightened you. I am not going to hurt you. I just came here to float for a little while."

Rolo regards him suspiciously all the same for now. "Do you come here often?"

[lightofhumanity]

"No..this is my first time coming here since my arrival to the Tower. But I might start coming here every now and then." After all, he had liked swimming on the artificial beach in the Durandal..and back on Earth, Mary enjoyed swimming together with him when they could find the time and the water.

Rolo studies him a little more and starts to relax a little. "You enjoy swimming?"

chaos smiled and nodded. "Yup. I didn't get to do too much of it back at home..but I did enjoy it whenever I could. How about you? Do you enjoy swimming?"

[tempus_scorpius]

"I... don't especially like or hate it. It's just something good for training and keeping myself fit."

[lightofhumanity]

"Well, swimming is good for that as well..in a place like this, one needs to keep active. However..what do you enjoy, if you don't like or hate swimming, if you don't mind my asking?"

[tempus_scorpius]

"I am not sure..." Does killing count? Though it's again something he neither particularly likes or hates. It's just something that must be done.

[lightofhumanity]

chaos paused at that. It sounded like this boy had been through one battle too many. "..I see. Hopefully, someday, you'll be able to find something you enjoy rather than fighting."

With that, chaos started to float on the water. He would still be happy to talk, but he had come here to float. It was nostalgic, at least, for him.

"Maybe..."

He watched the other boy for a moment. "What else do you like besides swimming?"

chaos thought about that question for a moment. How to answer without giving anything away..

"My friends, a good plate of curry, a warm bed, a well-stocked library, playing around with those friends, helping others..I enjoy quite a few things. Why do you ask?"

"I see... I... just wanted to know what other people of a similar age liked."

[lightofhumanity]

If chaos could have chuckled without giving away some suspicon, he would have. A similar age..if only this person knew the truth.

"Ah, I see. While it is interesting to see if you share the same interests of your peers and friends, you shouldn't force yourself to like what they like. Walk your own path..but don't forget the path that others walk on." In the water, chaos scratched his back.

"I am sorry if this doesn't make much sense to you."

"It really doesn't make much sense... It was so much easier when I was told how to behave..." And he kind of missed that.

In his head, chaos sighed, and the smile fell from his face.

"..Giving away your free will make make some things easier, I admit. But..in the long run, if you give it up, you shackle yourself to another persons ideas, dreams, and goals, regardless of whether or not you agree with those goals and dreams or not. It may seem easy..but it leads to a muddled head, lack of purpose, and you stop thinking about yourself and what you want to do. Of course, this is all just my opinion."

[tempus_scorpius]

"I don't want to be anyone's tool anymore. I do want my own free will but... I am so used to being a tool that I am uncertain how I am supposed to exercise this new-found free will.

It feels like I am just drifting alone in this wide blue sea with nothing to connect myself to."

[lightofhumanity]

chaos nodded. "If you don't know what to do with your free will, think back to when you didn't have it. There were probably a few times in your life that you thought 'If only I wasn't chained, I could..'. Think back to those times where you wanted to do something, but couldn't, and do those things now, since you have free will. That's the beauty of free will. You can do whatever you want.

..And if you are lacking in things to connect to, look around you. There are people, places, and things that you can connect to all around you. You don't have to be chained to them..but you can still be connected to them. Am I making any sense?"

"... do whatever I want... without being chained...

I can still be connected to my brother then? Even though this place has changed him?"

[lightofhumanity]

chaos smiled and closed his eyes. He thought better this way sometimes. "Yes, you can. Even if he has changed in some way, nothing is keeping you from being connected to him, if you wish to be connected to him."

[tempus_scorpius]

"But I'm afraid he might dislike me. Somehow he is so distant here..."

[lightofhumanity]

"If he is distant, it might be because this Tower is harsh place to live in. He might not want to see you get hurt. However..if you are unsure of how he feels, then you can simply ask him."

[tempus_scorpius]

"Nii-san... doesn't want to see me get hurt...? I... will have to do that then."

[lightofhumanity]

chaos smiled and nodded.

"Of course he doesn't. Family members and friends care deeply towards one another. In a place such as this, he may be acting distant so that you both don't get hurt emotionally. And you should do that. You may be surprised by the results."

[tempus_scorpius]

"But... we are not blood-related..." He looks away a little, a turmoil of emotions inside. "So that I don't get hurt emotionally..." He wants to believe that yet somehow that doesn't feel quite right.
