Hacking #05: Cold days

Setting: Floor 13, Floor 32 and Floor 1.
Format: Brackets to start with, but I can match you!
Summary: In which April is a bit of a grump about the cold, but also kinda glees and plays about in the snow. And also makes food.

[Floor 13]
[With how cold it was getting lately, April really needed to have something more warm to wear. Her trenchcoat was good at keeping her warm most of the time, but she definitely needed more than that. Which is why she's sitting in the workshop and attempting to make a scarf. Except she isn't too good with a needle, due to how she keeps stabbing herself.]

Ow! Ugh, dammit... Stupid cold... [Doesn't stop her from continuing to try to make one though. Despite how she keeps stabbing herself with a needle.]

[Floor 32]
[April had only really wandered to this floor to get some food. But when she sees the snow falling, she really, really can't resist going to play around in it for a while. It never snowed back home, which is why she's gonna make the most of it now.

So anyone that ventures to this floor will find one April attempting to build a snowman. And failing a bit as she tries to keep it from falling over.]

[Floor 1]
[And once she does finally get around to hunting for food, she can later be found cooking in the cafeteria. It seems like she was able to catch an animal of some kind, since there's some meat cooking on top of the stove, and thanks to having stored some of it away a while ago, she's sipping on tea of some kind as she cooks. She's glad that they can have hot water, at least. And right now, having some kind of hot food sounds good too. And April would be happy to share, if anyone asks.]

Ver-hee true. Though-ho I hope most Jack Frosts use them ho good. [She really can't stop giggling at herself.]

[April laughs again, before she tries to calm herself enough.] O-okay, no more.

... So before we start 'hee-ho'-ing again, help me think of a name for the rabbit.

I'm not sure if it's a girl or a boy.

[technologic]

[A pause.

Cue shifting the rabbit onto it's back to check.

And then placing the rabbit back on her lap like before.] Ah, it's a girl.

[alephbet]

Well then. Do you have any friends from home you miss, that you'd like to name her after?

[technologic]

[April blinks at him and 'hms' thoughtfully, glancing down at the rabbit. Then she smiles faintly as she pets her ears.] ... I'm thinking 'Michelle'. Or maybe 'Chelly' for short.

It's a cute name for a cute bunny.

[technologic]

Ehe, yeah... And Michelle likes cute things, so I don't think she would mind me naming a rabbit after her.

Then it's been settled. She's Michelle.

[technologic]

[Her smiles brightens as she pets the rabbit, Michelle, again.] ... I'll need to have Charlie meet her when he wakes up from his nap...

... Anyway, are you a bit warmed up now?

[alephbet]

Yes, I am. Thank you for letting me use your room.

[technologic]

It's nothing. There was no way I was gonna leave you out there after you had sat there for... well, a while. I'm not that mean.

[alephbet]

I know you're not. But still, thank you.

[technologic]

Just don't do that again. What if you had gotten sick or something?

[alephbet]

I promise not to hang around your door to give you a birthday present for at least another year.

[technologic]

[Blank look. And then a huff.] Good...

[She pauses before reaching into her trenchcoat pockets and pulling out a scarf from one of them. It isn't that well-made, but it's decent, and she holds it out to him.] Here.

[alephbet]

[Blink blink.] It's for me?

[technologic]

Yep. I was going to wait until that Christmas or whatever thingy, but it's too cold to wait and I can always make something else later.

[alephbet]

Thank you... I don't know what to say.

[Embarrassed, he ducks his head.]

[technologic]

[April is just confused when he ducks his head down, and she tilts her head slightly.]

You don't have to say anything... But, um, what's wrong?

[alephbet]

I haven't gotten many gifts before.

[technologic]

Seriously? Huh, I would've thought that with all the things you do for people, you would have gotten a lot of gifts...

[alephbet]

I get rewards for doing things. "Thanks for clearing out a demon, here's some money."
