If I can no longer feel a thing..
Characters: Tohko Amano and anyone who wanders by.
Setting: Dorm Room 1-09.
Format: Starting in prose, but I'll match you!
Summary: Tohko wakes up to find that she's lost her flu symptoms..and her ability to feel things.
Warnings: None right now.
When Tohko woke up that morning, if she hadn't know that she had fallen asleep in her own bed last night, she would have worried about where she was. She couldn't feel the bed beneath her, the freezing cold, and she couldn't tell if she was still running a fever or not. She couldn't feel a thing, and since she couldn't see anything either, she was afraid to leave her bed and move about. She could hear things..but that was about it. She couldn't use her crutch anymore, and it wasn't like she would be able to tell where walls were. Scared and sad, due to being cut off from everything she liked, Tohko began to cry..not that she could feel the tears. She could only hear her sobs. Out of desperation, she cried out.
"Please, is anyone there? If you can hear me..please, talk to me! I..I need your help."

"Please, is anyone there? If you can hear me..please, talk to me! I..I need your help."

"Ah, no one hurt me, Shiro. You don't have to worry about that. I was just..scared. Please, I can't see or feel anything. Could you help get me out of bed?"
no subject
"Of course, Shiro will help!"
She helped Tohko wrapped her arm around her shoulders so that she could lean against her to stand.
"What happened?"
no subject
"Ah, thank you very much!"
Tohko couldn't feel Shiro wrapping her arm around her shoulders, but she could hear a bit of it, so she tried standing out of bed. She forced herself to keep standing.
"I'm not sure..it all started when I got the flu..but it slowly started taking away my senses. First my taste, then my sight, and now, my ability to feel things."
no subject
"Then Shiro will be Tohko's legs and eyes... and nose too! Tohko just has to tell Shiro where she wants to go and Shiro will take her there."
Tohko couldn't see it but Shiro's expression had grown more serious, older somehow. She was feeling guilty, for some reason. Because Tohko had gotten sick and she hadn't be able to prevent that. ...Not that she had any idea of how she could have prevented that, but still.

"Ah, thank you very much! I'm not too heavy for you though, am I? If I am, you can just put me down. I don't want to be a bother."

"Ah, alright then! I'm glad to hear that!"

And Shiro hurries toward the cafeteria, humming the woodpecker lullaby under her breath.

Tohko can't see or feel how fast they're going, or if they're going at all, but she can hear the lullaby that Shiro's humming and the sounds of her footsteps if she strains her ears.

"Since Tohko can't taste food, Shiro will choose her favorite stuff and bring it to Tohko. Okay?"
But she doesn't wait for her answer. She's already off, piling up food on a tray for the book girl.
no subject
Tohko could hear Shiro moving around, but she had no idea what she was putting on that tray.

In a word: 'junk food'. But since the aim is for Tohko not to starve, anything works, right?
no subject
"Ah, alright then. Don't give me too much then! I don't think too much junk food is good, even for someone like me."
no subject
"If it's too much for Tohko, Shiro will help! What does Tohko want to start with? Cookies?"
As she says that, she places a chocolate chip cookie in Tohko's hands.
no subject
"Ah, thanks Shiro! And sure! Cookies are fine."
Tohko can't see or feel the cookie..but she can hear it being put into her hands. Using her memory, she manages to eat it.
no subject
"Shiro is glad. Because even if Tohko does feel weird, she can still share cookies with Shiro."
So all in all, it ain't so bad.
no subject
"Yup! Even if I can't taste it, I can still eat food with you."
no subject
She takes another bite of cookie.
"Cookies taste of chocolate and sugar. And they're all crunchy. And if you take a spoonful of vanilla ice-cream with the cookie it's even better! Or milk. Tohko wants to drink milk?"
no subject
"I wouldn't mind a glass of milk..but Shiro, you forget that, other than the books I eat, I've never been able to taste actual chocolate or sugar either."
no subject
"That's too bad. They taste really good. And Shiro doesn't know how to describe how chocolate tastes. Because chocolate tastes like nothing else. Chocolate tastes like chocolate."
no subject
"I-its' alright! I can imagine what chocolate tastes like when I normally eat, so it's okay. It's nothing to worry about."
no subject
"When we go back to Tohko's room, Shiro could read a story to Tohko."
no subject
"Ah, thanks Shiro! I'd appreciate that. Thank you."
