[There were certain ways to keep warm in the cold, and building a campfire was tried and true. Aleph wasn't going to argue with that. His hands were cold enough that he wasn't going to waste time with traditional methods, however.

His unconventional methods included Mara. He was, after all, a powerful demon with mighty fire attacks.

Therefore: those who wish to huddle around the campfire on the meadow floor will have to share space with a shivering Aleph, and with the giant penis in a chariot that occasionally blows fire to keep the wood burning.]

Well, yeah, but... Well, I guess I thought I wasn't really that interesting, which is why I was surprised you told your demons about me.

That's wrong. You are interesting and I want to learn more about you.

[There's a pause as she hugs her knees tighter to her chest.] ... Why?

We're friends, right?

[technologic]

[Another pause and she nods.] Y-yeah, we're friends.

That's a normal friend thing.

Mm... It would, er, depend on what you would want to know about, though. [But at least she's willing to try to talk now.]

[technologic]

... Anything not involving my teen years or my parents. That's stuff I'm not ready to talk about just yet.

All right. Can you tell me about who you were with before you came here?

[technologic]

Who I was with? ... Well, usually it's Michelle and Ryan, but I work with a lot of different people that we would be here for a while if I told you about all of them.

Start with them. You can find out a lot about a person from their friends.

[technologic]

Mm, okay. Well, Michelle is my most best friend and I've known her for a good few years now. She's really loud, brash and says what she thinks, so she gets into fights a lot. But she's really strong and brave, and she's one of the quickest fighters I know. I... owe her a lot, since she's helped me out when I was feeling low.

And Ryan is my second best friend and I've known him for only a couple of years. He's really quiet, but it's more like he only talks when he has something to say, though he also likes to poke fun at people. And he's a really good singer. He can be really blunt and uncaring, but he's always been there when I needed him...

[She smiles and gives a small laugh.] Michelle and Ryan tend to bicker a lot, but they've still stuck with me despite that.

It's good that you have friends that can put aside their differences. It sounds like you've been through a lot together.

[technologic]

... Yeah, we have. Things sometimes get really difficult, especially with what we do, but we've all managed to pull through and help each other out when we needed it.

Tell me more about what you do.

[technologic]

... I, uh, I'm part of a group that's working to rebuild my home country. Most of us in the group take on a variety of tasks, like rationing food or helping to rebuild some of the buildings or keeping guard so that cities we're helping don't get attacked or general bodyguard duties.

My job in the group includes those things, as well as handling the computer and communications work, as well as handling info and looking at new people who want to help or join the group.

If you decide who gets in, are you the leader?

[technologic]

... Um, yep, I am. [She laughs sheepishly and rubs the back of her neck.] I started the group a few years ago with Michelle's help, and now it's gotten pretty big.

[alephbet]

That's impressive. I'm sure you're doing a great job.

[technologic]

Eh? Oh, um, t-thanks... But I've only managed to get as far as I have thanks t-to all the help I've gotten.
