9th Recipe - Surprise Banquet [Open]

Summary: Kazumi is running around trying to cook things for all the newcomers so they don't have to just eat what's on the menu! Also, stocking up the other kitchen

[Cafeteria]

[A young girl with short hair is hurrying in and out of the kitchen, greeting various people and coming back out with various dishes. Anyone who isn't seated and eating yet, she'll approach, or if she knows you, she'll approach anyway! Newcomer or Tower Resident, she wants to make sure everyone can have what they want - the menu's not that bad this month, but everyone always has different preferences, right? Though, all the guests have to make sure they have their oatmeal first!]

Hi! Are you hungry? What can I get for you?

[Cafeteria Kitchen]

[There's about eight different things cooking in here at any one time as Kazumi runs in and out and cooks various things while working around the staff. She's doing surprisingly well considering how much is going on! But she looks like she's about to run herself ragged...]

[Floor 60 - Deluxe Kitchen]

[Later in the day, one might find Kazumi here... there's an enormous pile of foods here, mostly things like sacks of flour and sugar and so on, but also vegetables and fruits and meat. It looks like she basically stole everything out of the cafeteria...]

Ummm, now how to organize this...?

Ah, well, the only one cooking things besides the regular menu - um, which one was your order? I can tell you how it's going right now if you want!

[As she hurries between about three different places where things are cooking]

[terreifying]

...It was the really big one!

[But it looks none of the orders is gonna get done at this rate.]

But I think I can wait a little. How about I help you with the other orders?

[starofpleiades]

The really big one?

[There were a few big eaters in the tower so...]

Um, you don't have to! I can handle it myself.

[terreifying]

It'll still go faster if there were too people though. Don't worry. I won't burn anything!

[starofpleiades]

Um, okay. I mean, you have experience cooking? I'm afraid I won't be able to show you what to do exactly - though I'd be fine teaching you some other time!

[terreifying]

Simple things. And I can just learn by watching how you handle it.

[She walks close to one of the dishes being cooked.]

I'll be responsible for this one.

[starofpleiades]

Hm? Alright, just stir and keep it from burning. Once it looks done you can put it on the plate of there.

[Well, she'll try to trust her with some of the simpler things... it would help to have another set of hands around here]

I'm Kazumi, by the way. And you?

[terreifying]

[Rei nods and starts stirring.]

I'm Rei. Glad to meet you, Kazumi.

[starofpleiades]

You too, Rei!

Have you been in the Tower long?

[terreifying]

Only a few months. What about Kazumi?

[starofpleiades]

Um, since August, so I guess a bit longer than that. Wow, that's actually half a year, isn't it? It's been that long...

[Longer than... she'd previously been alive, wasn't it? That was... really kind of disturbing to think about.]

[terreifying]

[She nods.]

That's pretty long. I hear there's lots of people who've been here longer, though.

[starofpleiades]

Yeah, so it seems. It really kind of makes me worry about all this sometimes...

[terreifying]

You don't want to stay here forever, right? It seems a lot of people don't.

[starofpleiades]

Yeah, I mean... considering how this place is, you'd have to have pretty terrible circumstances back home to want to stay.

[terreifying]

What if you're just dead back home? Or does that count as a terrible circumstance?

[starofpleiades]

Yeah, that would be pretty terrible. Though sometimes this place can be pretty bad, you'd almost wish...

If they can bring someone like that here alive though, there has to be a way to return them alive too!

[terreifying]

Mm, that's good. I don't think I'd like to go home as a dead body or something.

[Come to think of it, did she still have a body after synching to such a great degree with Go-kun?]

[starofpleiades]

That would be really bad if that happened...

[terreifying]

[She shrugs.]

I guess I'll just enjoy myself as much as I can as long as I'm here!

[starofpleiades]

That's a good way to look at it!

[So... Rei was dead where she came from? That was pretty sad to know...]

[terreifying]

What about you, Kazumi?

[Rei looks down at the soup and stirs it a couple of times.]

Are you gonna enjoy yourself too?

[starofpleiades]

Mm, yeah, a bit. I want to help people out here as much as I can! That's what makes me happy.

[terreifying]

I wanna help people too, but I'm not as good at cooking as you are. And I'm not really a healer either. So I'm just gonna protect them from all the monsters.

[starofpleiades]

Are you good at fighting then?
