9th Recipe - Surprise Banquet [Open]

Summary: Kazumi is running around trying to cook things for all the newcomers so they don't have to just eat what's on the menu! Also, stocking up the other kitchen

[Cafeteria]

[A young girl with short hair is hurrying in and out of the kitchen, greeting various people and coming back out with various dishes. Anyone who isn't seated and eating yet, she'll approach, or if she knows you, she'll approach anyway! Newcomer or Tower Resident, she wants to make sure everyone can have what they want - the menu's not that bad this month, but everyone always has different preferences, right? Though, all the guests have to make sure they have their oatmeal first!]

Hi! Are you hungry? What can I get for you?

[Cafeteria Kitchen]

[There's about eight different things cooking in here at any one time as Kazumi runs in and out and cooks various things while working around the staff. She's doing surprisingly well considering how much is going on! But she looks like she's about to run herself ragged...]

[Floor 60 - Deluxe Kitchen]

[Later in the day, one might find Kazumi here... there's an enormous pile of foods here, mostly things like sacks of flour and sugar and so on, but also vegetables and fruits and meat. It looks like she basically stole everything out of the cafeteria...]

Ummm, now how to organize this...?

_{[Okay, so this definitely isn't out of character for her, but Sayaka is still pretty surprised at the pure extent of all this food and or food ingredients. She's not sure whether to call Kazumi crazy or offer to help.]}

[Kazumi waves cheerfully before turning back to the food]

Hmm, maybe. Or I was thinking by shelf-life? Well, the vegetables and meats will have to go in the fridge anyway...

[Seriously, a waitress? He could get used to this pretty quickly. Instead of doing this himself, he pulls out a bag of tea leaves.]

I'll take some tanna tea.

Just be warned, when you brew this up, I hear the uninitiated find its smell to be pretty bad.

[Kazumi stops by, a smile on her face and a look of interest when he pulls those out]

Oh, you brought your own tea leaves? That's great! I'll go start a pot of hot water - do you take any sugar or milk with it?

[Tohko had wandered into the kitchen, hoping to make something normal so that her cover wouldn't be blown..and had walked into a cooking warzone, with only one girl managing everything.

There was no way Tohko could just walk away from this poor girl.]

Hey, is there anything I can help out with?!

Huh? Ah, don't worry about it, I have a handle on everything!

[She says as she turns around and flips off one of the burners, stirring the frying pan of food and dumping it in a serving bowl. She stirs it curiously and...] Ah, safe!

[Barely has a handle on all of it, looks like]

[John and his Litwick were wandering the tower as usual, not really heading anywhere in particular other than "upstairs". However, when he reaches the sixtieth floor, he notices something that makes him stop on the staircase. Or more specifically: someONE and a whole LOT of foody somethings.]

Hm? Kazumi?

[He says this more to himself rather than trying to get Kazumi's attention. Instead of continuing his trek upstairs, he abandons the stairs and heads over towards the girl, a mildly curious look on his face. This is kind of a ridiculous amount of food for one person. Or even a group of people.]

Well, you could always organize them by what type of food it is. You know: veggies, meats, grains, et cetera, et cetera.

Hm? Oh, hi, John!

[Kazumi gives him a smile as he comes over]

Hmm, yeah, I mean, at least the meat and veggies are going to end up in the fridge anyway. I guess usually I don't have so much food on hand I have to worry about organizing it much more than that...

[Eh? Hibiki planned to go to the cafeteria and find something to eat--hooray he ate his oatmeal like a good boy so now he can have real food praise the food lords--but he didn't expect to get a face full of girl asking him what he wanted to eat. Even his yellow pokemon companion looked surprised.]

H-huh?!

[Kazumi's all smiles - she's kind of curious if that creature is like those ones John has...]

Eheh, I'm cooking things if you don't like what's on the normal menu - any requests?

Floor 60

[ Don't mind her, just passing by and suddenly seeing all that pile of food. Her stunned look says everything about what she's feeling about this. ]

Do you... need a hand with that?

Eh? Ah, Sayaka! Um... maybe?

Cafeteria kitchen!

[ Kazumi was really overworking herself.

It worried Mami, and the older girl wanted to help her out. After all, this was just too much for one girl. She quickly walked over to where Kazumi was stationed with a sift smile on her face. ]

Kazumi-san, it looks like you could use some help. Allow me to help. [ Since she wasn't going to take no for an answer! ]

Ah, Mami! Thanks, that would be a great help! [She really does look up to the girl as her sempai, so she's not as hesitant to rely on her as she is others] Besides making some, uh, less pink pancakes, I got started on some crepes and a tart...

[Well, Mami would understand right? The various half-completed things around the kitchen...]

[Cafeteria]

[Oh my, that... certainly is a lot of cooking going on. At first it seems like it might just be the tower workers fixing up the next round of meals, and it seems like the preparations are beginning, but she also spots a familiar figure darting about and tending to most of the dishes.]

... Kazumi? Are you trying to do all of this by yourself?

Huh? Ah, Iri! Um... maybe?

[Well, she doesn't want to worry her but she doesn't want to lie... she can handle it, really!]

Cafeteria kitchen

[Edgeworth had a small hope that he would find something which was not that awful strawberry tea although, considering this tower, he expected that he was going to be slightly disappointed - again. However, when the man stepped into the kitchen, he noticed all the things cooking in the kitchen. Not only that but there was only one girl who seemed to be doing it all by herself and she looked rather tired...]

Excuse me, Miss, but are you cooking all this by yourself? [His tone sounds stern and disapproving although that is because nobody else seems to have offered to help her. Hmmm....perhaps he should lend her a hand...?]

Huh? Oh, hey, was there something you wanted?

[She only really half heard his question as she busily keeps things in order]

It might take a few minutes, but if the tower menu isn't to your liking, I can...

[Lancer is just...staring at the huge stockpile of food.]

Are you eating all that, or is there some other reason for all that food?

Hm? Oh, no, it's definitely not for me to eat! I mean, not all of it.

[Look who's impatient about getting her food. Rei is poking her head into the kitchen to see why everything is so slow.]

Heee~ey, are you the only cook here?

Ah, well, the only one cooking things besides the regular menu - um, which one was your order? I can tell you how it's going right now if you want!

[As she hurries between about three different places where things are cooking]

[Coming to get food was about the only reason that Jade really left her room anymore. When she realizes there's someone actually at work in the kitchen she peaks in slightly.]

Kazumi? [Cooking again? Deny it or not, Jade did like her food, but geez, it seemed like that was all she ever did. At least, when Jade saw her.]

What're you doing.

Huh? Oh, I'm cooking! I figured people might be getting sick of all the pink heart things and, well, we also have so many new people here!

[Cafeteria Kitchen]

[The seemed to be more noise coming from the kitchens than usual and after finishing her meal Aradia can't resist peeking inside to see what's causing the ruckus.

She's surprised to spot a face she knows.]

Kazumi? What are you doing?

Hm? Oh, hi, Aradia! Just cooking some things!

[Lots of things]

[Oh, are you cooking things? Things that are maybe not filled with candy hearts, regardless of whether or not candy hearts actually belong in them?]

[If so, there is now one small, young child lurking in the kitchen, observing and occasionally coming closer to peek at the contents of the various pots and pans. She had better be cooking something good, or he will have no choice but to complain obnoxiously.]

[Making things that aren't pink or filled with candy hearts is a big reason she's doing this, so yes!

Everything Kazumi is cooking smells delicious, though it ranges from the simple like pancakes that aren't pink or heart-filled, to fancier things like crepes and eggs benedict.]

Oh, hi! Was there something you wanted?

[Saki hears the familiar voice, and pops her head inside to see what's going on.]

Kazumi? Here, let me help with that.

Ah, Saki! Eheheh, thanks... I'm just trying to figure out where to put everything for now... I figure we should have it organized from the start or it'll just cause trouble later.

and since i'm late you get two of mine; this one's in the cafeteria

[Nagisa's been a good girl and had her oatmeal. She's also had way too many candy hearts stuck where candy hearts shouldn't be. So when she passes by and smells something different, she can't help her stomach growling.

Only instead of a bunch of people, it seems to be one girl behind all of this, and she looks like she's working herself to death. Well, there's only one thing to do!]

Um, excuse me...my friend Yuuka's family ran a restaurant, back home. Is there anything I can do to help out here? You look awfully busy...

Eh? Ah, um, no, it's okay! I've got a handle on all of it!

[Except WOAH almost burned the eggs over there; she barely manages to pull them off the flame and serve them while they're just a little browned. Oh gee, and the crepes over there are starting to get cold, so she should really-]

[Eridan offers Kazumi a small smile.]

Just a little, but it's okay. Just getting myself some waffles.

[Because whenever there's waffles in the menu, that's all he eats all month.]

You okay, Kaz?

[...well, SOMEONE JUST WENT UP THE NICKNAME ECHELADDER.]

Heheh, okay! Just tell me if you want some that aren't pink or candy-filled.

[She giggles a bit at that nickname]

Yeah, I'm just fine! Why?

[Definitely not looking like she's been cooking for the past 3 hours, riiiiight?]
