Hacking #08: Memories

Setting: Floor 28, Floor 100 and Dorm Room 2-04 (Locked to Aleph).
Format: Brackets to start with, but I can match you!
Summary: In which April practices music and then later gets hit with a bad cause of homesickness.

[Floor 28]
[April has recently started to teach herself how to play the piano, and today she can be found in the music room practising. She... isn't really that good though, and judging by how she winces everytime she messes up, she seems very aware of this fact. But hey, at least she's trying!

And at least she's using a book to help her, even if she does keep messing up often.]

[Floor 100]
[April tended to avoid this floor. The moment she saw the scenery, she walked right through this floor. But today she had stopped, now looking at the sight of a big, old, decaying building within a ruined city. She didn't really know why... Maybe she missed home, and just wanted to see it, even if it was only a hologram.

… She didn't realize she missed home this much, and she can't help the wince when her hand goes through the wall of the fake building.]

[Dorm Room 2-04. Locked to Aleph.]
[Aleph had said that she could talk to him anytime, right? So why was she so nervous about knocking on his room door? Every time she tried to knock, she would pull back before moving to leave and then convincing herself that she should talk to him, even if she's nervous about it. It takes a few repeats of this cycle before she gathers up the nerve to shakily knock on his door.]

... W-why? Why would you- [Sniff and another hiccup.] W-why would you do that for me?

[alephbet]

Because you're important to me.

[technologic]

B-but I don't want to be a bother to you.

[alephbet]

If I needed comfort you wouldn't think I was a bother.

[technologic]

O-of course! I wouldn't even consider thinking of you like that.

[alephbet]

Then isn't it the same for me?

[technologic]

I thought... I... [She shakily sighs.] I t-thought after hearing all that y-you wouldn't w-want to be around me anymore.

[alephbet]

No way. I'm just as determined to stay by your side, April.

[technologic]

[She looks up at him in shock for a few moments, taking a moment to think over what he said.

And then the crying really does start. Sorry 'bout that, Aleph.]

[alephbet]

[He holds her closer and wipes away her tears from her cheek. You make him sad April :<]

[technologic]

[Nooo, she doesn't mean to make him sad. But feelings are confusing and hard.] I'm s-s-sorry, I just...

[She's cut off by a sob, and she clears her throat before trying again.] I'm n-not sad, I... I-I had been expecting the worst to h-happen that this is a-a huge relief...

I promise, it'll be okay. I won't leave you.

[technologic]

T-thank you... I-I'll find someway to p-pay you back for this.

[alephbet]

You don't have to pay me back for anything.

[technologic]

Why? Y-you don't have to do any of this for me, Aleph, s-so why?

[alephbet]

You're important to me. That's the only reason I need.

[technologic]

But I-I thought- [Another sob and she quickly wipes her eyes.] I t-thought if my parents didn't want me, n-no one else would.

[alephbet]

I want you in my life.

[technologic]

[Cue some more staring in shock.] You... What?

[alephbet]

You're important, you make me happy. I don't want you to go.

[technologic]

[Now she turns bright red.] ... T-thank you, Aleph. I-if you want me to stay by your side, t-then I'll stick by you.

[alephbet]

[He smiles and hugs her again.] Thank you.

[technologic]

[She cuddles close, taking a few deep breathes to calm herself down a bit more.] W-why're you thanking me?

[alephbet]
