Finally, another party
Characters: ProtoLancer
puppy_lancer, Zero Lancer
oathshackledbird and anyone interested in attending a birthday party. Details here.
Setting: Meadow
Format: Anything goes
Summary: Lancer throws his brother a party. Everyone can come except for the Archer (meaning they can come crash the party anyways)! Feel free to tag into any of the threads set up or invent your own scenario.
Warnings: None yet!
[It had taken some preparing, but the party was finally set up in a satisfactory way. There was a table for food and drink dragged in from the cafeteria, a wooden bucket filled with water with fruit floating in it, a strange paper mache Jason head pinata stacked on a scarecrow body, and a board with a pig with a Ganon head scribbled on it along with several spiraling paper "tails" attached to thumbtacks. There are no party decorations, but Lancer figures the flowers and sunshine should be decoration enough.]
[Now it's just a matter of waiting for people to show up.]

Which it is. It reminds him so much of the gifts that his children would make for him that it hurts in the best way possible.
Diarmuid crouches down so he can be more on the boy's eye level and smiles gently.]
What is your name little one? I would like to know it so that I can properly thank you.
no subject
It's Romeo sir! I hope you like it! I know adults don't really play with puppets but if you ever want to you can borrow my puppet theater!

[Diarmuid slips his hand into the puppet, dancing it around a bit, before continuing. He has a happy, though somewhat distant look on his face almost like he's splitting his attention between the past and present. After a moment, he seems to realize what he's doing and brings his attention fully back to the boy.]
I don't know that I have been given a nicer gift in a very long time. Thank you. I will cherish it.
no subject
I'm glad sir!
no subject
[Diarmuid looks at the puppet a moment longer and then slips is off his hand, the happy look still on his face.]
My children used to give me gifts like this all the time and I cherished them a great deal. Did you make this on the crafting floor?
no subject
I did! There's lots of material there it's good for making puppets.

[Diarmuid takes a moment to search through his pockets and pulls out a piece of paper. He sets the puppet down carefully and then flattens the paper. After looking at it for a few seconds, he starts folding it eventually making a small dog which he holds out to Romeo.]
An old friend of mine taught me how to make things like this a long time ago, and I like making them for others.
no subject
[Just like Shiki. He takes the dog with a grin] That's amazing mister Diarmuid!
no subject
[Indeed, seeing excitement like what is on Romeo's face right now is one of the things that truly makes Diarmuid happy.]
You know someone else can makes these? Would that be someone from your world or a friend you have made here?

Do you want to come and play a game with me mister Diarmuid?
no subject
Could you do that for me?

[Diarmuid smiles and leads them toward where the games are set up.]
Does one of them look more interesting than another?

Catch the fruit? But that seems like no real problem.
[He reaches down and pulls an apple out of the water with his hand.]
There is nothing hard about this. Am I missing something?
no subject
[He tries to spear a berry with a blunt stick and almost falls in.]
no subject
[Diarmuid catches the boy before he falls, settling him back on his feet.]
I think if that was the way wouldn't the things you need to spear be softer? Maybe you are suppose to catch it...but without your hands? Like this maybe?
[Diarmuid kneels beside one of the buckets with the fruit and links his hands behind his back. He then leans forward and after a few moments pulls a banana out with his mouth. After showing it to Romeo, he lets it drop from his mouth into his hand.]
Perhaps that is the trick of it?
no subject
He giggled, he didn't think that was how you did it at all! But it looked fun!] I want to try!
[He knelt down as well, hands behind his back and plunged his head into the water snapping his teeth, trying to catch the fruit.]
no subject
How goes it? Don't forget to come up for some air!

I think I was just lucky. Are you going to try again? I would suggest going for one of the longer fruits like the banana I grabbed. I expect they are easier to get a hold of.
