Wannabe Locksmith
Characters: Ventus and evrr'bodyyyy
Setting: Room 1-16 and Floor Fifteen
Format: Have prose, will action for CR
Summary: Ven is keybladeless, so he undertakes an endeavor to try and fix his tragic keepsake. Except he is not handy at all.
Warnings: Group B paranoia ahoy, especially since he's working on a weapon. Also splinters.
[Room 1-16]
Ven didn't have any qualms about lending his glider to Romeo; sure, it was convenient getting around the tower, but he had more physical training than most people, so it just a minor nuisance. What he didn't realize at the time was that it also left him without his weapon. granted, he hadn't really done much fighting since the phantoms showed up, but it was always important to be prepared, and it was hard to pull off a cure spell without the keyblade to focus his magic.
So his next idea was the broken training Keyblade he had gotten from Terra. Ven was kneeling in front of his trunk in his room, holding the two halves of the keyblade, one in each hand, looking at them with an uncharacteristic frown. He didn't even know how it had broken, because it was certainly in one piece when he had last seen it. Wonder what had happened....
[Floor Fifteen]
He couldn't spend forever moping around in his room though; there were people who were horribly disfigured and he had to do something to be on the way to helping! Ven had taken the two halves of the keyblade and ran off to the 15th floor. It was just a wooden dummy blade, but it was important to him! And since it was wooden, it couldn't be that hard to fix, right?
Of course Ven had about zero craftmanship skills, so even though he was set up with both halves on a work table, he had no real idea what he was doing. So he was basically going to go about this via trial and error. Someone stop him?

[Room 1-16] If this is okay... Link doesn't exactly knock in canon >>
The hero of Hyrule was meandering about when he opened a random door to find another boy inside. The change of events didn't seem to be a problem. Door shut behind him, he fancied the boy with a smile, this must be his room or he's probably looking for treasure too, he thought to himself.
lol what is knocking. it's fine. :B ~!
"Uh...hello...?" Well, he...seemed, friendly enough. Although it was kind of weird that he just came in and was just smiling. Actually it was kind of unnerving. So he's just going to stare a bit dumbly. "Can I help you...?"
Awesome! Knocking is for normal people, not BAMF's
"I'm Link." He responded, finally eying that open chest and then the broken weapon in his hand. "This is your room?" You never knew, he couldn't be the only one who liked treasure chests.
Damn straight, Link plays by his own rules 8'| !
"Um...I'm Ventus." He hastily dropped the two halves of the keyblade into his trunk and stood up. "Did you need something?"
Finally, someone who understands!
Link didn't even hesitate to respond, blue eyes curiously following those halves. It looked liek a tool or perhaps a weapon. Had the boy broken it? Did he need it fixed? Did the boy need anything?
"Need help?" Because people always needed help, no matter where he was.
Main chracters man, gotta stick together
Yes they do, gotta save the world!
And saving the world requires many funds from the common people's pots
And a lot of treasures from people's chests
Exactly, if they were using it they would have it in their pockets, right
Exactly! They're loss!

Hi Ren! [He grinned and moved both halves of the keyblade to one hand, so he had a free one with which to wave at her.] What are you doing here?

[She smiles and looks at the broken keyblade.]
Sticks? Are you going to make a fire?

[Room 1-16] Hi neighbor
oh hey fancy seein' you here
"Oh, Naminé!" He smiled and opened the door a bit wider when he saw who it was. "What's up?"
well I was in the neighborhood so
make yourself at home, I'll make some tea
Ven glanced back into his own room when he noticed Naminé looking in, and took a minute to realize what she was probably trying to do. "Oh uh, neither of them are here right now though. I don't know where they are."
will do o7

That was, until she noticed the blond boy looking at the wooden thing in front of him on the table. "It's not going to fix itself, kiddo." she said, floating over. "What happened?"
no subject
"Oh uh... I don't really know." He rubbed the back of his head and looked back at the broken weapon. "I left it somewhere back home and it was fine, but when it appeared in my trunk, it was broken."
no subject
She had no idea what she was even looking at, but Marceline figured if she could turn an heirloom battle axe into a bass guitar, she could figure out how to fix some kid's weird toy. "What's this supposed to be, anyway?" she asked.
no subject
"It's a training weapon; my friends and I used them to train when working with a real Keyblade was too dangerous or too hard." He was smiling while he explained, but then he frowned again. "My friend gave me this one when he didn't need it anymore."

[Floor 15] ven you're doing it wrong
Aqua was slowly descending the highest floors to better acquaint herself with them, stopping every time a stray noise sounded over her shoulder. She eventually came to the fifteenth floor, where a familiar shock of spiky blond hair was waiting.
Despite the jumpiness, Aqua smiled. "Ven," greeted the woman as she began to approach. "What are you doing?"
sh-shut up this is harder than synthesis sob
When she got closer, he turned back towards the work table just a little and frowned at the wooden dummyblade. "The training keyblade I got from Terra was broken when I found it in my trunk..! I was going to try and use it to fight, but I don't know how to fix it.."
Sob Terra would be so upset with him.
nuh-uh, there's not even gems involved
It wasn't worth troubling Ven over right now, though. There was a more important matter she needed to press. "To fight? What happened to your Keyblade?" questioned the mage in confusion, gaze breaking from the wooden Keyblade so she could instead look at her friend.
gems are easier to use they are shiney and magic
"He was having trouble walking, so I lent him my glider to get around until he could walk."
come on haven't you ever heard of wood glue
wtf is that he's never heard of that command
it makes things stick together, sort of like Magnet
oh snap what is this sorcery
it's ~science~
are you sure they're not the same thing
...pretty sure, go ask Ienzo though
>PROCCEED TO POLL ALL OF THE SCIENTISTS EVER
...i don't know if that'd end well
but at least it'd end hilariously
and probably in a magic science explosion, and then you get Heartless
...and now we know how it all started.
magic and science are basically like Romeo and Juliet in that regard
someone write that fanfic
...magic/science OTP? --wait who would top
uuuuh they trade off every week
...equality, i like this 8|a
they shall maintain the eternal balaaannccee
this will be a great step for magic's civil rights movement, you know
considering how long the Magical Civil Rights Bill has been blocked, it's a long time coming
and then magical theories will be able to stand beside scientific theories as equals
~and so the dream was made real~
insert "i have a dream" speech here.
so would MLK be a magician in this scenario
absolutely. so would Rosa Parks.
YOU'RE A WIZARD, MARTY
HI BIG BROTHER
He jumped off the hoverboard and held it in his mouth and walked the rest of the way. He put the hoverboard down by the side before speaking again, "Do you need help?" Ven had been nice enough to lend him his flying board do Romeo wanted to help him in return.
OH HEY THERE LITTLE BRO
"I'm trying to fix this training Keyblade my friend gave me." He laughed sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head. "If you know anything about fixing things, that'd be great!"
no subject
"I can help you!" He smiled, he actually had no idea how to start fixing wooden things but it couldn't be too difficult. Right?
no subject
"Alright!" Ven had no idea either, but surely the two of them together could figure something out. "Uh, let's see.... How do you make something stay together when you break it?"
