Summary: Ven is keybladeless, so he undertakes an endeavor to try and fix his tragic keepsake. Except he is not handy at all.
Warnings: Group B paranoia ahoy, especially since he's working on a weapon. Also splinters.

[Room 1-16]

Ven didn't have any qualms about lending his glider to Romeo; sure, it was convenient getting around the tower, but he had more physical training than most people, so it just a minor nuisance. What he didn't realize at the time was that it also left him without his weapon. granted, he hadn't really done much fighting since the phantoms showed up, but it was always important to be prepared, and it was hard to pull off a cure spell without the keyblade to focus his magic.

So his next idea was the broken training Keyblade he had gotten from Terra. Ven was kneeling in front of his trunk in his room, holding the two halves of the keyblade, one in each hand, looking at them with an uncharacteristic frown. He didn't even know how it had broken, because it was certainly in one piece when he had last seen it. Wonder what had happened....

[Floor Fifteen]

He couldn't spend forever moping around in his room though; there were people who were horribly disfigured and he had to do something to be on the way to helping! Ven had taken the two halves of the keyblade and ran off to the 15th floor. It was just a wooden dummy blade, but it was important to him! And since it was wooden, it couldn't be that hard to fix, right?

Of course Ven had about zero craftmanship skills, so even though he was set up with both halves on a work table, he had no real idea what he was doing. So he was basically going to go about this via trial and error. Someone stop him?

Ven nodded, both glad to hear that Romeo was OK and in an affirmation to his question. "Yeah. I don't think I can fix big injuries like being cut in half or what happened to you and the others," He said with a slight frown, "But I can fix up scratches and restore energy and stuff like that."

He took the hammer from Romeo with a smile and a nod when he brought it over, looking at it with scrutiny. "I think that might work. We'd need nails too though, right?" He looked around the workshop a bit. He'd never done any of this himself, really, but how hard could it be?

Romeo nodded, he didn't think there was a magic big enough to fix what had happened to them. But he had to focus on good things and keep his spirits up. "I bet you help so many people Ven!" He smiled again and looked around.

"I see some!" He walked over and took the box in his mouth, but it was awkward to carry and half way back to Ven he dropped it, nails went everywhere. "Sorry!"

Ven sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. "Well, I try to...! I haven't really gotten a chance to do much here, and there's already an infirmary." Then again... if that place was run by the tower people, he wasn't sure how much he trusted it. Hm.

When the nails fell to the ground, Ven jumped slightly and rushed over. "Heh, don't worry about it! No harm done." And he kneeled down as he began to pick up the nails, collecting them in one hand.

Romeo was embarased, but he couldn't really pick up the nails himself, they were too small to grip properly in his mouth. He tried but failed and so just let Ven. "Thank you Ven," he gave a small smile trying to keep his spirits up even though he was upset that he had been so clumsy and he couldn't do even a simple thing like carry a box of nails.

"Don't worry about it!" He reassured him, grinning and looking up at Romeo. Once he had recollected all of the nails, he stood back up and set them on the work table. "You were just trying to help me out after all."

Romeo smiled again and went back to the bench, "So I guess we just need to bang the nails in." He picked up the hammer again in his mouth.

Ven nodded in agreement with Romeo, with a small "Yeah!"

He looked at the wooden Keyblade, carefully attempting to piece the two splintered halves together. When he deemed their placement acceptable, he took a nail and started positioning that too, with considerable more trouble. "Uh...."

This was gonna be harder than he thought.

"Okay so now we just need to bash the nail in." He held the hammer tightly in his mouth and tilted back his head before nodding sharply to try and hit the nail with the hammer.

Ven watched Romeo, and after a moment, he moved to offer to take the hammer and do it himself. "Uh, maybe I should--" Although he moved the nail slightly and was a tad too late, so the hammer went right down on his finger.

He jumped slightly and gave a yelp in pain, dropping the nail holding his now bruised fingers with his other hand. "Ow ow ow...!!"

Romeo dropped the hammer, his eyes wide with guilt. "Ven I am so sorry!" He was mortified that he had hurt his friend.

He nudged Ven's hand with his nose. "I'm sorry!" He hadn't meant to hurt him! He was only trying to help!

Ven attempted a sheepish laugh to hide the fact that ow that was painful. He shook his hand a bit as if it'd shake the pain right out. "No, don't worry about it...! I've had worse than this, really!"

Romeo still felt awful. "I'm so sorry... maybe you should do the hammering..." It seemed the bad people had taken away his ability to do anything helpful for Ven. "Are you sure? It's not broken is it?" Because that would be awful!

"Nah, just a little bruised...!" Well, and painful, but that was easily taken care of. "Look, watch;" He held his hurt hand out a bit and pointed with his uninjured hand, green light surrounding his fingers with a few of what looked like leaves and flowers appeared in the air before disappearing.

"There, all better!" Maybe a little sore, but it wasn't going to stop him from fighting at least.

Romeo watched and his eyes widened at the light and the flowers. His wide gaze turned to Ven, "Is that magic?"

"Yep!" He stated cheerfully. "That's a Cure spell! It's healing magic."

Romeo stared in wonder. "That is amazing!" He smiled brightly.

"Eheh, thanks!" Ego +25. "Maybe one of these days I can teach you magic for yourself." A moment of thought. "I don't know if there's any universal laws or something that says I can't teach you magic, but we can try! Right?"

"Really!" Romeo's eyes lit up and he grinned, looking strange as it did coming from his deer face. "Would you really teach me magic Ven?"

"Of course!" He told him with excitement. "Like I said, I don't know if it takes anything special to enable someone to learn magic, but it's worth a shot, right? I've met all sorts of people that can use it, so maybe you can too!"

Romeo grinned even more and nodded, "I hope I can I really like learning things! And magic could help lots and lots of people!"

He pressed his nose against Ven's arm, since he couldn't grasp his hand, in thanks.

Another grin and Ven gave Romeo a pat on the head in return.

"Just be careful when we get around to it though, OK? I don't want you to have fire blowing up in your face or anything," he warned with a small laugh. In reality it'd probably be a good idea to teach the kid a cure spell before anything else.

"I will be really careful and work really hard!" Romeo grinned again excited about learning another new thing. And magic! To help people!
