their lies and truths that run rampant and wild

Characters: Archer [AU3] and you! (open)
Setting: Floor 25, Dorm Floor 1, and a general all-over-the-tower bit
Format: Using action brackets, but will match in threads.
Summary: So the week started well enough. And then these strange messages started appearing around the tower... (If you want to react to the ever-changing 'Lancer and Archer' rumor, feel free to pick any version.)
Warnings: Nothing at the moment.

Floor 25 - Meadow - prior to the rumors appearing

[Ever since he visited the meadow to watch V/V's concert, Gilgamesh found himself returning to the floor whenever he found himself wanting to enjoy something simpler. It was quiet and free of irritants (the "monsters" of the tower), so he could remain there as long as he wished, whiling away his time.

Not that he has anything to do out there. Not really. But sometimes idle fingers fiddle with the longer blade of grass, or pluck flowers out of the grass to twist at the stems.]

All over the tower

[The message on the wall in the first dormitory level is the first that he sees. At the time, it had been nothing more than a small amusement -- something to smirk at with mild puzzlement, as he didn't know either of the people mentioned on the message. But he soon becomes aware of the other messages-- graffiti, as people began editing them-- on the different floors.

So what does he do? He goes on out there to look around and see just how many obvious messages there are. With so many floors, that's bound to take awhile.]

Dormitory Floor 1

[...It's almost ironic that he finds himself back on the first dormitory level, staring at the same patch of wall he had seen at the beginning of the week. The message keeps changing, and every time he walks off to find something else to do, he just seems to come back to find it changed again.

Maybe he should stick around to see who's changing the rumor. That sounds like a good idea.]

[ Cecil wasn't paying the rumors much attention until one in particular caught her eye. The only reason it's done so is because it mentions two people she knows. Seeing how the writing on the wall has escalated with all the scratch-outs and new sentences, the latest version has her eager to strike it out and try to protect both of the men it involved:

"LANCER AND ARCHER ARE WISE, INTELLIGENT HEROES AND ALLIES"

So far so good. She's just about to talk away when there's a searing, sharp pain on her chest, directly beneath her collarbone. Cecil claps a hand over the area on reflex and her body tenses from the pain. Once she's calmed down enough to take her hand away, she undoes the top two buttons on her gambeson and quickly checks for injuries. The white cotton of the garment is already stained with blood and her stomach churns with worry.

"PEOPLE ARE OBSESSED WITH LANCER AND ARCHER"

The words freshly carved into her skin glisten red and wet and her eyes snap back to the wall. Her sentence has changed too, reflecting what's been written on her body.

[ Even though she's seen Diarmuid do something similar a few times before, the sudden materialization of a Servant will never stop being startling to her. She gasps quietly, then sighs when she sees Archer beside her. She shakes her head with a frown and raises her fist to begin casting Cure, thinking she could heal the fresh wound. ]

...I'm sorry, Archer. I should have expected it would only twist my words.

[ Cecil sighs as she casts her white magic on herself, the green light spilling from her closer hand onto her shoulder and down across her chest like water. It flows into the lettering on her white skin, accelerating the regeneration of the flesh. ]

It seems that the Tower does not approve of efforts meant to better the situation that those the slander is about. I suppose it found my meddling too tame and boring.

[ As she finishes making her conjectures, the magic fades and disappears, but the words carved into her remain. If Cure repaired any damage at all, it's only been redone. Cecil turns her eyes from the wall to her wound again. ]

...That's unexpected.
