Summary: So the week started well enough. And then these strange messages started appearing around the tower... (If you want to react to the ever-changing 'Lancer and Archer' rumor, feel free to pick any version.)

Floor 25 - Meadow - prior to the rumors appearing

[Ever since he visited the meadow to watch V/V's concert, Gilgamesh found himself returning to the floor whenever he found himself wanting to enjoy something simpler. It was quiet and free of irritants (the "monsters" of the tower), so he could remain there as long as he wished, whiling away his time.

Not that he has anything to do out there. Not really. But sometimes idle fingers fiddle with the longer blade of grass, or pluck flowers out of the grass to twist at the stems.]


All over the tower

[The message on the wall in the first dormitory level is the first that he sees. At the time, it had been nothing more than a small amusement -- something to smirk at with mild puzzlement, as he didn't know either of the people mentioned on the message. But he soon becomes aware of the other messages-- graffiti, as people began editing them-- on the different floors.

So what does he do? He goes on out there to look around and see just how many obvious messages there are. With so many floors, that's bound to take awhile.]


Dormitory Floor 1

[...It's almost ironic that he finds himself back on the first dormitory level, staring at the same patch of wall he had seen at the beginning of the week. The message keeps changing, and every time he walks off to find something else to do, he just seems to come back to find it changed again.

Maybe he should stick around to see who's changing the rumor. That sounds like a good idea.]

There's been one before. He was really, really big. [ She spreads her arms as far as she can, to a point where she almost managed to make herself topple over. ] About this big. But then even bigger.

[ Very specific, Urotsuki. ]

So maybe he's back again.

[bowandblade]

[He rubs at his chin thoughtfully. Though he had never seen a whale himself, he was supplied information on what they were when he had been summoned.]

And it flies?

[chainsawn]

Uh-huh. It flew right into the tower last time. Maybe it was trying to mate slightly too aggressively back then...

[ It makes sense to her. But she's just weird. ]

[bowandblade]

[Well, if he had known more about the ... giant space whale to begin with, this all would probably have made more sense.]

So this gigantic creature appeared, smashed into the tower, and then left.

[He states this, expecting some sort of confirmation.]

[chainsawn]

[ A nod. ]

That's exactly what happened. I even saw him.. [ Since of course Urotsuki would come and watch it despite the fact that she would die by being crushed by it if it'd come too close.. ]

.. He was really big.

[bowandblade]

[He tilts his head and arches a brow at Urotsuki, as if her words required more clarification.]

You saw the creature as it was approaching the tower?

[chainsawn]

On a floor with windows. You could see him flying outside.. it was a really amazing space whale, that's how I know what he was like.

[bowandblade]

[...The things that existed in this universe. Archer laughs despite his earlier questions, scratching at his chin thoughtfully.]

I cannot say I have seen a whale before, let alone a space whale. I am sure it was an exciting opportunity!

[chainsawn]

It really was.. [ It's difficult to tell with Urotsuki constant blankness, but she means it. She really was amazed back there. ]

Maybe you'll get to see it this time too if it's mating with the tower.

[bowandblade]

[He tilts his head at the comment, glancing back down at the stairs before stepping up beyond the writing.]

You should show me where you saw the whale.

[chainsawn]

.. You want to see?

[ She almost seems a little glad. Like someone's finally willing to listen to one of her cool stories, and she tries to grab the guy's hand to drag him off. ]

Come on, it's higher up..

[bowandblade]

[He smirks as Urotsuki grabs at his hand, holding on as she starts climbing the stairs. The resilience of youth. One of those things from his childhood he could reflect upon with fondness.]

How much higher?

[chainsawn]

It's only a little bit more up. I wasn't all the way up.. [ Else she would just have been crushed by that thing. And she still almost got crushed by it all the same back then.

She glances over her shoulder at him, still holding his hand. ]

But you're a big guy, right..? You probably don't mind some climbing up.

[bowandblade]

I do not mind a little climbing! But if we had several flights to go, I could get us there faster.

[That was simply a matter of fact, as far as he was concerned.]

[chainsawn]

... Faster?

[ It's not even that she minds walking, it's just that she's curious. Enough to stop and blink at him. ]

How can you go faster?

[bowandblade]

[In a case like this, showing is much simpler than explaining. And that's the logic that Gilgamesh follows as he release Urotsuki's hand -- only to scoop her up with one arm a moment later, climbing the steps two at a time.

Supernatural powers may have been neutralized on the staircase, but he was still fit and the owner of a pair of long legs.]

As I said: faster!

[chainsawn]

[ Despite how blank she usually is, she actually does gasp in surprise the moment he picks her up like that. Mostly since she didn't see it coming. But at least she realises it's nothing bad when he's just starting to walk up with her like that..

.. but even so, she's pretty amazed. Even though it's simple. ]

Woah.. you must be in the Olympics.

[bowandblade]

[It takes him a moment to get the reference, and when he does, he can only laugh haughtily as he continues to easily carry the girl up to the next floor.]

Hardly. The Olympics were made to celebrate greatness such as mine!

[Not even remotely true, considering the era differences, but of course everything that came after his kingdom was somehow inspired by the legend and heroism of his time.]

[chainsawn]

[ That's even more impressive! Especially since she believes it right away, especially with how people here seem to come from different times.. ]

You founded the Olympics..? Really? Or.. maybe they based it on you.. [ She frowns a little, thinking. ] I didn't know your name was mister Olympic though..

[bowandblade]

Far from it! [Another laugh, shorter than before, escapes his lips as he slows a little. On the new floor, he looks around as if expecting Urotsuki to tell him they had arrived.] The sports they played were inspired by the fights of legends.

[chainsawn]

Ah.. it's a little higher up. [ Wait. She feels like she needs to clarify-- ] Where I saw the whale. Not the fights of legends, I don't think they are here to begin with..

[bowandblade]

[That's all the direction he needs, and he starts climbing the stairs to the next floor, still carrying Urotsuki.]

You just need to know where to look, here in this tower! There are those who would be called legends in their worlds.

[chainsawn]

Do you think I could get to know legends? A lot of them?

[ Her tone rises slightly. It's excitement. ]

I'd like to meet them. Legends sound like they'd be fun people.

[bowandblade]

Of course you could! You will simply have to find out if they are heroes or not.

[He laughs for a moment, pleased to hear something approaching enthusiasm in the girl's voice.]

You will have to greet them properly! So do not forget to smile.

[chainsawn]

[ To smile?! That doesn't come as easily to her, but she certainly doesn't want to leave a bad impression on these legends! So she moves her hands up to her face, trying to physically tug up the corners of her mouth with her hands.. ]
