Summary: So the week started well enough. And then these strange messages started appearing around the tower... (If you want to react to the ever-changing 'Lancer and Archer' rumor, feel free to pick any version.)

Floor 25 - Meadow - prior to the rumors appearing

[Ever since he visited the meadow to watch V/V's concert, Gilgamesh found himself returning to the floor whenever he found himself wanting to enjoy something simpler. It was quiet and free of irritants (the "monsters" of the tower), so he could remain there as long as he wished, whiling away his time.

Not that he has anything to do out there. Not really. But sometimes idle fingers fiddle with the longer blade of grass, or pluck flowers out of the grass to twist at the stems.]


All over the tower

[The message on the wall in the first dormitory level is the first that he sees. At the time, it had been nothing more than a small amusement -- something to smirk at with mild puzzlement, as he didn't know either of the people mentioned on the message. But he soon becomes aware of the other messages-- graffiti, as people began editing them-- on the different floors.

So what does he do? He goes on out there to look around and see just how many obvious messages there are. With so many floors, that's bound to take awhile.]


Dormitory Floor 1

[...It's almost ironic that he finds himself back on the first dormitory level, staring at the same patch of wall he had seen at the beginning of the week. The message keeps changing, and every time he walks off to find something else to do, he just seems to come back to find it changed again.

Maybe he should stick around to see who's changing the rumor. That sounds like a good idea.]

[The way that Enoch trails off like that is worth a side-glance.]

Hn? Finish your thought.

...In the world I was in before this, I met a man named Tatsuya. He'd encountered something like this in his own world, rumors coming true...

If other worlds are experienced in things like this, then that they wrote something to change you and Lancer fundamentally, knowing it would come true...that isn't simply immature, it's destructive. Malicious, even, if they understand all the implications of altering who someone is.

[bowandblade]

Malicious alteration... [His eyes narrow. When phrased that way, this was really not all that different from what the administrator 'Jason' had done, was it? The only different was there was a guise of "choice" in that some could write on the walls as well.]

Then that would be good reason to destroy the wall.

[warriorscribe]

Destroy the wall? *He looks down at a side of the Arch sticking out from his back, and takes the handle to remove it from his jeans.*

The tower's walls have always seemed impervious to damage, but...

[bowandblade]

If they can be written on and they could not before, then they are an exception. Sound logic. [He's nonchalant with explaining his rationale, smiling to himself as he gives the wall a kick.] Now, how to best destroy it...

My weapon might be able to obscure the words...

*He just doesn't want to wind up with a random rumor written on him that he never intended to create...oh well, best to try. He takes a few steps back and makes a lunge for the wall with his Arch, the beam of light buzzing in a way that would sound familiar to most modern ears. It strikes faint blue-white sparks against the wall as he slices through it...

...or not. The scratches fade as soon as they are made, leaving the rumor written there unchanged.*

[He makes a thoughtful, if annoyed, sound at the sight of the wall remaining intact after Enoch's attack. But his attention is quickly averted from the sight that annoyed him to the more interesting sight: the weapon that Enoch had just used.

Gilgamesh leans towards the other man with a faintly curious look. His interest in weapons had not faded at all over the years.]

What an intriguing weapon.

*It's part of what makes a Gilgamesh, really - his own canon's is just like that too, though he's never met him, or if he has, he doesn't remember it.

Enoch looks down at his Arch.* Ah...it's called an Arch. It's one of God's weapons.

[bowandblade]

[With his attention effectively derailed by the sight of Enoch's weapon, Gilgamesh hums and reaches out to give the weapon a poke, if he is able to.]

One of God's weapons. [He repeats, clearly amused.] It is capable of many things, then?

[warriorscribe]

*It feels like metal and porcelain at once. Enoch tenses when Gilgamesh reaches out to touch it, but since his finger isn't going for the beam and he isn't making a grab for it, he doesn't pull it back.*

It is capable of a few strange things, but mostly, it's little more than an oddly-shaped sword. *He smiles a bit humorously at that.*

[bowandblade]

Oddly shaped indeed. [He gives the Arch an experimental flick, then smirks at Enoch.] I should take it for my treasury.

[From the flash of teeth that his smile allows, it's probably not immediately apparent whether or not he's joking.]

*Enoch assumes he's joking, though it's an uneasy assumption considering he closes and stows it on the back of his jeans after he says that.*

You'll find it isn't of much use to you. God's weapons are at their weakest in hands that can't purify them.

[bowandblade]

What is there to purify when you are divine already? [Well. Two-thirds divine.

All the same, he does not seem put off by Enoch putting away the weapon; they were enticing to see, and certainly worth keeping an eye on.]

You are not the only one with the gods' weapons, after all.

[warriorscribe]

It taints as I use it in battle...

*He starts to explain, but then Gilgamesh says something that immediately gets his attention.*

But you have divine weapons, yourself?

[bowandblade]

Of course! [His enthusiastic reply is tempered with an undertone of haughtiness, as if Enoch should have known beforehand. He splays out the fingers of one hand to the empty air, gesturing as the air around him seems to ripple. An arch of circular gates, six spread out as low as his ankles and above his head, appear to glow gold around him. Archer's smile widens as he calls upon a few weapons, the shafts of three spears and hilts of three swords sliding into view.

While the gates are quite real to behold, attempting to touch them would result in a hand passing through the gate as if it isn't actually there. Attempting to touch the weapons will result in them dissolving into gold dust as they return to Archer's treasury.]

My treasury is quite a sight to behold, after all. The very origins of legend and beyond.

*Enoch made no such move to touch the weapons, though he did lean in to examine the nearest one in earnest interest.*

And these are all divine? You've pluralized "god", do each of these come from one of your gods?

[bowandblade]

[Archer shrugs expressively at the questions, then laughs as he reaches to touch one of the bejeweled sword hilts.]

If all my weapons were divine, what would that say of humanity? That their every innovation required divine intervention?

[He smirks at Enoch.] They are so easy to collect, everything in my treasury. Something of a habit of mine. [As easy as breathing.] But those that I most highly prize are divine, yes.

Of course not, you only said...

*Enoch just...hadn't been expecting to be shown human-crafted weapons when the discussion had been on the divine.*

[bowandblade]

[Given the opportunity to talk at length about himself, or at least his greatness, Archer -- Gilgamesh -- would make use of it. He laughs at the way Enoch trails off, closing the gates and returning the surrounding air to its normal state with a dismissive wave of one hand.]

I am sure I have weapons that are said to be sent down by gods, angels, and demons. With so many wonders to the world that are valued, I simply cannot keep track of them all.

So you collect...legends, then?

*He's not handing over his Arch - they're not really supposed to be in human hands anyway, he's an exception made in this one case (and on top of that may not be human at some point).*

[bowandblade]

Anything and everything that the world considers a treasure! ...And anything that I may personally fancy. [Another dismissive wave, as if that wasn't too important.]

Infuriatingly enough, this place restricts my access to a great amount of my treasury. Only weapons seem to pass through my gates. [Though his tone remains jovial, there is obviously an irritated gleam to his eyes.]

They do play with our powers as they please...

*Though...there was the fact of Sola's vines in Dax's area. But if their powers are illusions, they affect very real things like trees and animals and monsters. Up here, it might as well not make any difference.*

[bowandblade]

They do! Rather arrogant of them, is it not? Claiming the roles of protectors over those they have to restrain to "protect."

[He shakes his head in mock disappointment.]

As if we wouldn't know what to do with them ourselves.

*Well, his tone is lifting to match Gilgamesh's mocking - for nothing else than to keep the conversation lighter than it was.*
