[The monster, fangs bared in a terrifying grin, charges after her as fast as its legs can go. It's making leaps toward Maya more than it's running; it seems to be able to put a lot of power into its legs that way.]

[mayatama]

[ Unfortunately for the young acolyte, she manages to trip (or rather, almost trip -- the shoes she's wearing isn't meant for running, after all, which forces her to take a second to force them off and carry them with a single hand as she darts down the stairs, barefooted.

She'll grip onto her magatama tightly as she does, wishing that somebody, hell, anybody will come and help her as her breaths become heavier. ]

[themonsters]

[The monster leaps again, this time aiming to pounce and tear at flesh with its sharp teeth. If it does bite down, though, at least the feeling of euphoria the bite produces might make the situation feel a little better.]

[ And it manages to succeed, managing a scream from the girl as her hand immediately drops her shoes, allowing them to fall down the stairs. She wants the pain to stop, go away -- and she honestly, honestly doesn't want to die. ]

[The monster bites and claws at her stomach. Unless something stops it now, it will disembowel her.]

[ Maya will yell that single word from the top of her lungs as she attempts to kick (hey, she's been working on her kicks) the monster's face. Hopefully this will do something to it. ... Hopefully. ]

[The monster yelps a little as her heel catches its eye--it closes its eye in time, but the pain still strikes it, and it pulls back, though it takes intestines and flesh with its jaws in the motion.]

[mayatama]

[ Maya stumbles to her feet, breathing heavily as she falls again, deciding that her only chance of survival is to crawl down to the next floor and hope for salvation. Even though she's attempting to yell for help, her voice won't come out as tears start falling from her face as she goes down the stairs, albeit a little awkwardly. ]

[themonsters]

[The monster, after a moment rubbing at its face, charges after her. THis time, it aims for her back--and if it can get its jaws on her, it will have enough power to snap her spine in two.]

[mayatama]

[ Unfortunately, Maya doesn't have enough time to budge; she can feel his sharp teeth reaching her bone as she attempts to cry out in the loudest voice she can muster... that is, until she starts coughing up blood. She knows she doesn't have the strength to survive this, so she merely speaks up, her voice low: ]

Do it already... I don't think I can stand it anymore. I'm sorry... Nick, Mr. Edgeworth, Sis... Kuro... Everybody.
