[Surprisingly, the monster does let go after the stab in its shoulder. Blood dripping from its mouth, it snarls in a strangled sob before it attempts to grab him again, anywhere, to speed up the process, to finish off its prey.]

[When the monster frees his leg, Richtofen is able to see just how badly he's been torn up. The adrenaline coursing through his veins masked a good bit of the pain, but seeing his burned, mangled leg now that it's out of the monster's mouth causes that lost pain to hit him hard.

The sight isn't new or disgusting to him by any means, but the bout of unbearable sadness that's overtaken him makes Richtofen double over. The knife clatters to the floor as he slaps a hand over his mouth and lets out an agonized wail.

Unable to defend himself, the monster's teeth sink into his neck. His body goes limp in a matter of seconds.]

[With its next victim down, the monster doesn't stay in the hospital for long. It bites at Richtofen again as an insult to literal injury before it leaves, hobbling up the stairs weakly as though nothing had happened.]
