Yotsuba!&..
Characters: Yotsuba Koiwai and you!
Setting: The nineteenth floor on June 19th.
Format: I'm starting in prose, but I'll match you!
Summary: After getting a note from Enoch, Yotsuba decides to search the library for more treasure: information about 'romeance'.
Warnings: None so far!
Yotsuba was always happy to get mail, especially from good friends..but her recent letter inspired her to search the library, since it seemed like it was a huuge beach where seashells and other cool things hid. So, after putting the letter in her pocket, Yotsuba ran down the stairs, careful to avoid any monsters she saw. While she was wearing her sling and sash-pouch, it was still best to avoid any trouble. When she saw the first elevator she found, she pressed the call button and waited, singing to herself to pass the time.
When she finally got onto the elevator, arrived at the meadow, and dashed into the nineteenth floor, her eyes got wide, and she couldn't help but cry out to herself. "There are a lot of gems here! They're really colurful!" Nonfiction books, of course, still looked quite nice, especially to a young child. While Yotsuba was looking for a book to explain 'romentic love', she wasn't the best reader, which resulted in her pulling the first book she found off the shelf and expecting it to have all the answers..when it was just a thin book on psychology.
As Yotsuba tried to read it, her face scrunched up a she tried to make sense of what she was reading. "F..Fruied was..de..deflunked by modern.." After trying to say 'psychologists' and not getting it, Yotsuba glared at the words, as if they were the ones responsible for not having what she was looking for. "That doesn't sound nice!! This isn't a good gem!" Yotsuba closed the book and put it back on the shelf-not in the same spot she had found it in-and kept wandering around, hoping she could find something about what she was looking for.

Ah- w-well, t-thank you!
And.. ummm.... I don't know much about going to school all the time. It's something that Mama and papa really want me to do, so I do it. Some people get homeschooled, though... but a lot of people say that's not as good.
[ Madoka frowns a tad in response. She does know why, sort of but... it's not a big deal now and worrying about it makes her a little worried and saddened when she can't go to a good high school or university if she ever gets home. Mama and Papa... she doesn't even know if they're alive. ]
S-so.... what kind of b-books are you looking for?

[Yotsuba knew now that her Daddy was physically dead, but since Enoch promised to save his soul and help him, she was counting on him..and anyone else who was doing the same.]
Yotsuba's looking for a book on romeance! Books are like treasure, so I was trying to find a nice one!
no subject
[ She looks a little puzzled. ] Well... that would be u-under the psychology section, wouldn't it? Hm... Do you just need to know what it's about?
[ Since, after all, she's never really had to go look up books about romance. It's all in the novels and movies, but she's never really questioned it's presence. ]
no subject
[Sadly, Yotsuba didn't have novels, movies, or anything like that to help her understand romance.]
no subject
[ Are there really books of how romance works, though? Madoka doubts that, but there's no reason why she can't try and introduce the concept to someone. ]
Well, wouldn't it be better if you asked someone what it was instead of these books? They seem a little...er, complicated.
no subject
Yotsuba did ask! But..Enoch said it was hard to explain and that it was fun to search through books, since it's like finding seashells at the beach!

They might use bigger words than you or I know in one of these... [ She's a tad embarrassed about her mediocre vocabulary. ]

W-well, we'd better find a dictionary as well... just in case.

Oh! [ Drifting over, reaching for one of the thicker volumes and thumbing through it. ] I think this one will do. It looks p-pretty big...

1/2; from merriam-webster pfpfft
[ Taking a while because this dictionary is hefty, wow. ]
Romance... um...
2/2
So! U-uh! Any words you need e-explained o-or...?
no subject
Yeah! What's lovemaking?
no subject
I-it's how you make b-babies!
[ Madoka giving the sex talk to a 4 year old. ]
no subject
Oh..so romeance is a kind of love that lets people make babies?
no subject
U-uh! S-sort of? N-not exactly? I- I mean, it can l-lead into two people m-making babies?
no subject
How can it lead into it? How do you make a baby anyway?
no subject
Great now she's all flustered and ahsdfasd. ]
O-okay, w-well! When a m-mommy and a d-daddy want to have a b-baby, they're usually in r-romantic l-love first?? U-uh... U-um... M-maybe we can find a book that t-talks about b-babyma-making...
no subject
..Not that Yotsuba can really understand why Madoka is so flustered though.]
I'm sure we can! There are a lot of nice gems here, so there has to be one!
