Setting: The nineteenth floor on June 19th.
Format: I'm starting in prose, but I'll match you!
Summary: After getting a note from Enoch, Yotsuba decides to search the library for more treasure: information about 'romeance'.
Warnings: None so far!

Yotsuba was always happy to get mail, especially from good friends..but her recent letter inspired her to search the library, since it seemed like it was a huuge beach where seashells and other cool things hid. So, after putting the letter in her pocket, Yotsuba ran down the stairs, careful to avoid any monsters she saw. While she was wearing her sling and sash-pouch, it was still best to avoid any trouble. When she saw the first elevator she found, she pressed the call button and waited, singing to herself to pass the time.

When she finally got onto the elevator, arrived at the meadow, and dashed into the nineteenth floor, her eyes got wide, and she couldn't help but cry out to herself. "There are a lot of gems here! They're really colurful!" Nonfiction books, of course, still looked quite nice, especially to a young child. While Yotsuba was looking for a book to explain 'romentic love', she wasn't the best reader, which resulted in her pulling the first book she found off the shelf and expecting it to have all the answers..when it was just a thin book on psychology.

As Yotsuba tried to read it, her face scrunched up a she tried to make sense of what she was reading. "F..Fruied was..de..deflunked by modern.." After trying to say 'psychologists' and not getting it, Yotsuba glared at the words, as if they were the ones responsible for not having what she was looking for. "That doesn't sound nice!! This isn't a good gem!" Yotsuba closed the book and put it back on the shelf-not in the same spot she had found it in-and kept wandering around, hoping she could find something about what she was looking for.

[ Madoka's not familiar with the second library, but she's found herself in here once or twice when hiding out from monster attacks in the last mouth. It's much more different than the other one! This one looks like it would be something she'd use for a research paper.

She's perusing the selections when-Oh! Her eyes light up when she sees the child wandering between the shelves. She had barely noticed her. What's a child like this doing in a library full of research books? ]

Um. Do you n-need any help?

[Yotsuba turned to the person, smiling at the question. While she didn't know if this girl was a good or bad person, the question sounded nice. And she didn't look mean!]

Yotsuba would like some! But are you a good person?

[madokacries]

I-I guess?

[ What a strange question to be asked. Well, she hasn't done anything evil or bad and always tries to help out... Maybe an example would be better. ]

I'm the medical officer of my class, does that make me good o-or bad?

[It might be a strange question..but Yotsuba was a strange person, and her Daddy had told her to not go with any bad people, a lesson that was only reinforced by having been killed by two bad people here.]

I don't know! What's a meshical office? What's a class?

Oh! A medical officer is someone who helps people when they're hurt by taking them to the nurse.

[ Talking about stuff she knows... this intimidates Madoka a whole lot less. ]

And a class is, well... hm... When you're old enough, you go to school, right? A class is the people you share lessons with at school.

[Not that Madoka should ever have been intimidated by Yotsuba, sling or not.]

Does the nurse help those people? And what's school? And lessens?

[ Madoka gets intimidated by everything. She is literally a deer. ]

Yes. The nurse helps people by giving them medicine, and the medical officer is responsible for taking them there so the nurse can help them.

Um... School is a place you go to learn, and lessons are the things you learn. Does that make sense? For example, one plus one is two, right? That's called math, they teach that at school.

[ As she slaps her hand over her mouth. ] Ohhh, I'm sorry. I've probably confused you...

Yotsuba hopefully won't be scared at Lucifel unannounced appearance in the library. To be exact, walking right next to her. It was amusing to see a little girl around the library in a section with literature which wasn't really made for children. How she referred to the books as gems though... it made him wonder.

And thus his interest was piqued. "Pretty hard words adults have to read, huh?"

Yotsuba was not the type easily frightened by strangers, even if it was weird that she didn't notice him before. But..that thought didn't linger long in her head, and nor did it bother her. While she didn't know if this person was good or bad..that question didn't seem bad. And this person hadn't tried to attack her yet. So she nodded as she spoke.

"Yeah! It's hard for Yotsuba to un..understand them sometimes! But I'll understand them when I grow up! Are you a bad person?"

So she got lost here by chance as it seems. Well, he'd have to see where this encounter would lead... but so far it still is amusing. And it already started with that question of hers.

"Hmm, what would make me a bad person?"

She actually hadn't-she had wandered into the right library..but had underestimated how much she would be able to understand to find out what she was curious about. The question was easy to answer though.

"If you've hurt someone..or killed someone without a..apologizing, that would make you bad! Taking away ice cream would make you a bad person too!"

He must not know a lot, if he didn't know what a bad person was..

Lucifel chuckled. "Then I'm not a bad person." She had put it simply but the things she counted could be considered bad. That's if the circumstances of the deeds were considered as well.

"And is Yotsuba a bad person?"

And with that, any and all doubt was removed in Yotsuba's mind that this person could be bad. While she hadn't thought much about the circumstances that might surround those events, she was rather young and didn't know much about that yet.

"Okay then! That's good! And I'm not a bad person! Yotsuba's a good person!"

[Ellen is walking through the library, a thick tome about magic clasped against her chest protectively. It's something far too thick and complex for a girl of just thirteen, but of course, she's been tackling this level of reading since she was young. There's not much one can do while cooped up in a house, after all.

Despite that, magic is one of the few subjects that she has a semi-complete understanding of or at least enough to tackle textbooks on. Complex subjects and in particular psychology are still comprehensible, but far more difficult for the young girl to understand.]

A lot of the books here are hard to read.

[Yotsuba wasn't aware of what would be normal reading levels for different ages, but that comment surprised her a little.]

Really?! Are any of them about romeance? And..are you a good person?

[funnystory]

[She answers with a quick nod, as it were a perfectly normal question, no more strange or unexpected than being asked if the sun was yellow.]

Mm. I'm a good person.

[She cocks her head to one side curiously.]

There are a lot of books about romance downstairs.

[And, since Yotsuba was naive, she believed the girls words and smiled as she spoke.]

Oh! There are?! Do they tell you what it is? How nice are those gems?!

Mmn.

[She shakes her head a little now. To say that they explain what it is wouldn't be quite right.]

There are stories written about romance. There are fairy tales too. A lot of people fall in love.

[And at long last, a smile starts to tug at the corner of her lips.]

I really like those stories.

Yotsuba knows about stories! Daddy gave me a few back home, but they didn't have romeance in them! But a lot of them were about animals! They were cute..but what fairy tales? And do they tell you what romeance is?

[..Even Ellen didn't think it was right to explain what it was, Yotsuba neither knew nor cared right now.]

Here's hoping someone comes to Yotsuba's rescue~

[Oh, how cute. It's a little girl, alone in the library after dark.

Unfortunately the masked monster doesn't seem to be much affected by her cuteness nor does it seem to have much of a conscience. It's following Yotsuba around, quietly. Maybe the girl won't be a very filling snack, but she'll still be a snack.]

Even if no one does, this should be fun!~

[While Yotsuba had left the library several times during the day to get food or other things, she had kept coming back in order to read her book and skim the shelves, since trying to find books she could understand was a bit frustrating..but fun. She wasn't tired yet, so she had kept on walking through the shelves, singing to herself.]

Ge-ge-gems!~
They're hard to understand!~
But grown-ups have no trouble!~
So Yotsuba wants to grow up soon!~

[It was at that point that Yotsuba came to the end of the shelf and turned slightly, hoping to get a look at the other bookcase..but froze when she saw a monster a few feet from her. She still had her sling with her, and, thankfully, her pouch was full of good sling rocks, so Yotsuba quickly loaded it as she yelled and tried to back away.]

G..Go away! Yotsuba's strong..and I don't wanna die, so go away! Shoo!

[She..didn't know what shoo meant, but she had seen people use it when they were chasing away things.]

[The monster cocks its head when Yotsuba loads up her sling. Is that supposed to frighten it? It just makes it laugh.

Well, lots of things make it laugh. It's the laughing monster, after all. But the sound it's making now is almost like a chuckle as it inches towards the little girl.

It's not shooing. Not in the slightest.]

[It wasn't meant to frighten it..but the fact that this monster was laughing puzzled Yotsuba a bit. Was it laughing at her words? Monsters didn't usually laugh. They growled. But..maybe this one was different, and Yotsuba didn't want to die because of a difference! Once was enough, and she didn't want to make Rabbit or Enoch or Red or Kyoko..or anyone else sad!

So, as Yotsuba took a few more steps backwards, she steadied herself, and threw her sling, releasing the bullet as her arm came down. She was hoping that it would hit its head, but since she was a beginner, it would probably hit its chest or legs.]

[PLONK.

The monster's head inclines and it looks down where the rock had hit it, square in the chest. Its gaze travels up to Yotsuba, then back down.

Its hind legs tense as it prepares to pounce. And then it leaps, jaw gaping wide.

Yotsuba might want to dodge.]

[While any normal child might have froze as a monster rushed at them, Yotsuba was not a normal child. Plus..she wanted to stay alive. So, even though she screamed a little in fear and surprise, she tried to run to the side, out of the isle, and into the middle of the next one before pausing to load up her sling again.]
