Summary: Aleph is in search of something in particular: a Bible. He has no success and eventually retires to the meadow.

[Floor 3]
[The first place to look would of course be the library.

But, it seems that religion and history are intertwined, and the histories of the worlds aren't covered in this library. No matter how hard he searches, Aleph can't find a single religious tract or book of divine scripture.

He's basically going to check every section of the whole library before he gives up, though. It'll take him awhile and make him obviously noticeable.]

[Floor 13]
[Churches generally have religious books in them, don't they? To read from and all.

This one doesn't seem to. It's not a clearly Mesian or Christian church, and he doesn't know well enough to determine if it's anything else, but he thinks its pastors must be hard on their luck if they have to recite everything from memory.

Aleph will turn this floor inside out trying to search, including looking under pews.]

[Floor 19]
[Now, he's pretty sure that this research library doesn't have anything either, but just in case...

He'll go over this entire library section looking, though with less enthusiasm than the other floor's library.]

[Floor 25: afternoon]
[Well that was a waste. Still, it was something to do. And...

Aleph knew vaguely that other worlds had kinder Gods than his had. Different Gods. But he failed completely to understand why they got so upset about the prospect of a different god than theirs being killed. He only sort of knew why Lucifer got such a bad reputation, in the barest possible sense.

He'd been reading books for a year to improve his ability to read, and to not be bereft of all knowledge but how to fight. It seemed time to get around to some of these, if he could find any of them.

Failing that, picking daisies and making them into a flower chain was never a bad use of time.]

[April frowns to herself, before heading over to Aleph.]

So that's four... We need to find at least two more then, since I'm... Not sure if we can find twelve four leaf clovers.

[Small sigh.] We can keep trying, though.

There're other flowery floors, too. We can avoid fairy rings on one...

Oh, that's right, and they're easy to avoid! Do you wanna head there now, or search here a bit longer?

Let's stay here for a bit. It's kind of a long walk.

Not really. We could just head down to the elevator on floor twenty-one and then get it up to eighty-one, so not that much walking. [April has been working on guides and maps too long.]

But it would probably be best to thoroughly search this floor, so that we don't miss any. [Search, search, search.]

... Do you... um, think your demons will like them?

Mara and Lilim I'm sure will. Anubis is hard to read even after all this time... Rangda probably will. Beelzebub might not.

But if I ask nicely enough, will he wear it?

Wha...? [April blinks at Aleph in surprise, stopping mid clover-rummage.] ... He likes me?

Demons can like people, and you're worthy of it.

I-I know they can like people, I just, um... I just wasn't expecting that since I-I haven't spoken to him much before... [She goes back to looking for clovers, mainly to hide how she's getting embarrassed.]

You could talk more if you wanted.

[technologic]

I, u-um... [Flaily hand movements.] I-I would be o-okay with that...

... B-but how come he likes me? Is it because you've, um, talked about me before to them?

[Aleph nods at that.] I talk to them about you pretty often when we're night patrolling.

[technologic]

[She blinks over at him with a squeak.] W-w-why t-talk about m-me?

[alephbet]

You are my girlfriend. I have lots of things to say about you.

[A blink as she blushes, before she goes back to clover rummaging.] A-A lot of nice things?

[Another small sign of improvement self-esteem wise, since usually before she would say she wasn't worth ralking about.]

... Hmm, I wonder if I should make these charms with other flowers too. To give them more color, though I would need to update your one. Or make you a new one...

I think my demons need more fashionable crowns than I do. With my armor, I'm a hopeless case.
