Characters: Anyone who's willing to work for SCIENCE.
Setting: The Workshop (Floor 15) for the IC questions to the scientists and the mingle thread. Then each group will be positioned on a different floor so as to not alert the administrators with a large group of people gathering at a single place for a long time.
Format: Prose or action, whichever you prefer.

Summary: This log marks the start of the research on the collar fluid! As was mentioned in the sign-ups post, words was passed around about the need of more people to help and study the collar fluid. Characters signing-up have all been divided into seven teams, which can be found here. ICly, Doc Brown made the team based on what he thinks is the most efficient. You can still sign-up here.

There will be a thread in case your character needs to ask a question or anything to the starter scientists (Doc, Waver, Sertoria or Sephiroth) and in parallel a mingle thread for all the characters during the 'recruitment', even if they end up assigned to different teams. And then obviously, there are the individual threads for each teams so the new teammates can get and know each other if they don't already.

For their first day the teams will be on different floors, but following this nothing prevents two teams from working closeby or on different floors. For reference, there are three set of scientific equipment, each containing a microscope, a small centrifuge, beakers, test tubes, many testing apparatuses, etc. They'll be shared between the seven teams depending on what they need for their researches.

Warnings: Nothing! There will be no NPC tags here, researches shouldn't be dangerous and this log is mostly for the characters to get and know each other, so this should be a relatively harmless log. Well, unless you're in the Violet or Orange team of course. In which case, good luck.

Ah...birthdays aren't the only reason to give gifts.

*Maybe she just never got anything she was unhappy with.*

.. I don't like the other kinds of gifts. [ Mostly thanks to stuff back home rather than here. The presents she got from her parents that never were around always just felt hollow, after all. Like they were supposed to be some sort of replacement that never truly replaced anything. ]

Besides, these presents feel different.

[ She points at her "accessoire" - it's Kidou's goggles hanging around her neck. They're pretty obviously broken and fixed up again after the fact, but there's definitely his. ]

I liked this one.. [ Sure, she did initiately freak out about it, but then she repaired it and it instead became a physical memory. ]

I got a memento of someone I miss, too.

*He pulls out a card that reads "my hero" in a clear plastic sleeve held closed by a bloodstained gold-plated hairclip. He taps said hairclip with his thumb, showing it's what he received.*

But just because you like them doesn't mean they're birthday presents.

[ Normally she'd ask him what they are then, but she's completely distracted by the hairclip. She's leaning in closer to stare at it. Her constant blank expression makes it difficult to see what she's thinking, but apparently she's at least pretty interested. ]

It belonged to someone dear to me. I'd given it to him as a gift to replace one he lost.

*He runs his thumb over the hairclip, then over the words beneath the plastic, before slipping the card back in his pocket.*

He's been one of my reasons to fight ever since the first day I came here, and he was my reason to fight in the world I was on before this, too.

.. Are you keeping it with yourself to remind you of that then, maybe..? What you're fighting for?

[ She's not sure, hence why she's asking. After all, the reason she's carrying around Kidou's goggles is different - it's just purely attachment rather than determination, and maybe even some slight possessiveness. ]

I keep it with me because I never want to forget him... so, I suppose, yes.

*He'd forgotten Armaros once before, after all.*

Well.. you won't forget him then. Ever. And you're not alone either here, with all the people around..
