Event: Quarantine
Characters: any characters trapped in rooms during the event
Setting: dormitory level rooms
Format: any
Summary: An unexpected series of explosions has trapped residents in the dorm rooms with no power and no way to get out. Try to communicate with the outside, deal with being stuck in a small room with other people... Deal with the really strange things that seem to be happening, too.
Warnings: typical Animus horror event warnings
[There are several more explosions, and the sound of things falling and crumbling outside. The dorm rooms themselves don't collapse or cave in, but the furniture and trunks and nightstands may be rattled and knocked about. Eventually, the lights flicker and go out entirely, leaving everyone in the dark. There are small red emergency lights lining the floors, but they don't seem to have come on all the way, and flicker on and off eerily.
After maybe twenty minutes everything falls silent. However, if you try the door, you'll find you can't get out...]

[Nodding his head at her to get her attention back.]
What's wrong with Diarmuid?
no subject
What'd you mean?
[Suddenly she feels rather acutely aware that there are five other people in the room still]

[Don't think he doesn't know, missy.]
Just the kinda guy I'd go to if I really needed someone to help out.
[Point. It's made.]

But there's nowhere she can really go to escape this conversation either.
She sits up yet again, though this time she wraps her arms around her legs, drawing herself inward until she's touching the sheets and blankets and nothing else.]
You were the first who left.
[Her voice is low, low enough that - for now at least, Reno should be the only one who can hear it, unless they're actively listening in and their hearing is sharp]
Elena and Roxas left next. In the same week, in April.
[The week that she'd been gone, that ended with her walking around as a half-mindless drone of Jason's, that ended in her dying twice.]
Then Axel after that. Then Hei not long after that.
[Her voice is getting a little louder now, though it's still quiet.]
We kept... getting letters. After Elena and Hei left. Telling us who to go to. Who was supposed to look after us now.
[Her grip on her knees tightens. Her voice is almost a vehement hiss now, much more clearly audible.]
As if having someone new to go to would make up for the fact that everyone kept leaving us. [She lowers her head into her knees] As if it could make up for the fact that you weren't here instead.
[She doesn't say anything for a while, until she lifts her head a little until her eyes at least are visible, watering slightly. She stares out in front of her, not really looking at anything.]
Diarmuid's fine.
[It's her who's messed up.]

Pushing himself up, he leans against the headboard and pulls her into his side, tucking her under his good arm.
What can he say? It hadn't been his fault he had been pulled back into the nightmare that his universe was. That had been left to higher, crueler powers than he.
Instead, all he offers is comfort. A physical reminder he's still here, that both of them had made it back after all.]

Because eventually, feeling him there, right next to her, knowing he's real for sure, slowly breaks her down and she stops caring that there are still so many others in the room. He's real. He's back. There was still the part of her that had been afraid that she'd wake up and he'd be gone again. That he was only here for a short while, as was with Axel sometimes. But for now, he was here.
She keeps any of her hiccuping sobs quiet as she can though; she's not going to bawl like a toddler. Slowly they ease though, and she slumps against him, worn out. If he doesn't say anything else, she could doze off like this...]
