Event: Quarantine
Characters: any characters trapped in rooms during the event
Setting: dormitory level rooms
Format: any
Summary: An unexpected series of explosions has trapped residents in the dorm rooms with no power and no way to get out. Try to communicate with the outside, deal with being stuck in a small room with other people... Deal with the really strange things that seem to be happening, too.
Warnings: typical Animus horror event warnings
[There are several more explosions, and the sound of things falling and crumbling outside. The dorm rooms themselves don't collapse or cave in, but the furniture and trunks and nightstands may be rattled and knocked about. Eventually, the lights flicker and go out entirely, leaving everyone in the dark. There are small red emergency lights lining the floors, but they don't seem to have come on all the way, and flicker on and off eerily.
After maybe twenty minutes everything falls silent. However, if you try the door, you'll find you can't get out...]

Which they were not.
They were (at the time) getting wounds bandaged up and taking stock of their situation. Hours later and not much else had improved, including Kanda's temper. Not willing to poke the already annoyed tiger, Lavi stays stationary on one of the beds, the foot of it in case someone wanted to sleep. Being new to this place and not knowing anyone kind of made this an odd situation. "Well, at least the explosions remind me of home."

He produces a few cards from his pant leg and the pack of cards from his sleeve. He'd tried to see with his cursed eye to no result. Weird but, he'd live. "Did you see anything before the explosions?" If anyone would see something, it's Lavi. He shuffles the cards. "Want to go a few rounds?"

"Nothing unusual, just folks asking that guy questions. I had been heading toward it to listen in when all heck broke loose." He reaches out to lightly ruffle Allen's hair, just for familiarity's sake, "Promise not to scam me right out of my clothes?"

"I'll even let you choose what form of game we play." The cards aren't old, but they're not new either. He shuffles them quickly and cuts the deck, shuffling again just to be sure it's a fair game this time. He won't do it for most people, but Lavi is a friend.

"Fine then, I wanna play War." He's touched, Allen. And glad you still consider him a friend.

[[ooc; ...I have forgotten how to play War. /googles]]

At three, he turns over his top card. It's a five.

Since the game's objective was to win all the cards and thus the war, the mini battles for the cards.

He flips over a Jack of hearts and lays it before Lavi with a pleased little smile. He isn't cheating. He's just trying to unnerve his friend into making a mistake.

A Jack... One chance to throw down a face card, but instead Lavi's luck gives him a nine.

"At least the explosions back at home meant we had enemies to get rid of. Now we're trapped in a room with nothing to do. I think I prefer an Akuma attack than this crap we're stuck in now." There wasn't anything to do, and he can't imagine being able to meditate without having his concentration broken with so many people in this enclosed space.

Despite the fact that no one is going to be a corpse. Not really. But Lavi doesn't know if Kanda knows that. He's tormented by all the information he's learned from the others.
"If we could get out of here I bet we'd probably find something to fight." After all, something had to trigger this kind of attack. Only he hasn't heard any monstrous noises or growls and grumbles from people who hadn't gotten their prey.
no subject
He pulls Mugen out. "So what you're implying is that we try and get out." You do know he'll try, right? Like you know this was gonna be something Kanda is highly considering.
no subject
Do you even have the room to pull Mugen out and swing it without hurting anyone? No. Put it away, silly man. "It couldn't hurt, we could at least try unhinging the door and see if we could see what's blocking it."
