Event: Quarantine

Characters: any characters trapped in rooms during the event
Setting: dormitory level rooms
Format: any
Summary: An unexpected series of explosions has trapped residents in the dorm rooms with no power and no way to get out. Try to communicate with the outside, deal with being stuck in a small room with other people... Deal with the really strange things that seem to be happening, too.
Warnings: typical Animus horror event warnings

[There are several more explosions, and the sound of things falling and crumbling outside. The dorm rooms themselves don't collapse or cave in, but the furniture and trunks and nightstands may be rattled and knocked about. Eventually, the lights flicker and go out entirely, leaving everyone in the dark. There are small red emergency lights lining the floors, but they don't seem to have come on all the way, and flicker on and off eerily.

After maybe twenty minutes everything falls silent. However, if you try the door, you'll find you can't get out...]

[He nods, because that doesn't hurt his mouth, and then the dim light flickers out. She'll feel his weight shift until he's against the headboard with her, not touching but easily close enough that she could lean against him, if she wanted.

It's about all he can do. They're all tired as it is, but there's no reason to wear himself out further, which he will if he tries to keep the light on.

It's kind of tempting to just sleep anyway, even if it won't do any good.]

[Sheba isn't sure she wants to sleep. It doesn't seem to be helping anyway - she hadn't woken up refreshed after sleeping the night before and the night before last. But it's part of a routine, and keeping track of how many long sleeps she has may help to keep track of the days.

She is relieved that when his light flickers out, he doesn't move away. And she is even more relieved that he actually comes closer.

Carefully, because she doesn't want to aggravate any wounds (or bleed all over his shoulder, so she'll have to keep her face turned away from his clothing), she does lean against him. It's a comfort, to have someone so close. She speaks softly, but she doesn't expect him to speak back, because of his injury -]

Thank you so much for being here.

[It's true that he doesn't speak back, but he wraps an arm around her and squeezes in acknowledgement. That's all that needs to happen, really.

Eventually, even though it won't help, he can't help but fall asleep there, trusting her to watch his back in the dark.]
