towerofanimus | Event: Quarantine

Characters: any characters trapped in rooms during the event
Setting: dormitory level rooms
Format: any
Summary: An unexpected series of explosions has trapped residents in the dorm rooms with no power and no way to get out. Try to communicate with the outside, deal with being stuck in a small room with other people... Deal with the really strange things that seem to be happening, too.
Warnings: typical Animus horror event warnings

[There are several more explosions, and the sound of things falling and crumbling outside. The dorm rooms themselves don't collapse or cave in, but the furniture and trunks and nightstands may be rattled and knocked about. Eventually, the lights flicker and go out entirely, leaving everyone in the dark. There are small red emergency lights lining the floors, but they don't seem to have come on all the way, and flicker on and off eerily.

After maybe twenty minutes everything falls silent. However, if you try the door, you'll find you can't get out...]

[He's right, of course-- in that he and Lancelot (at least) are physically superior to the others in the room. But wrong about many other things.
Lancelot gives Nesir a half-smile. He sees no reason to patronize her, but he does believe the environment necessitates courtesy.]

When I Lived, Nesir, strong though I was, I had need of food and drink. There is no shame in it.
Let us say then that you are not weak, but that I would rather not see you weakened.

[He turns towards Sephiroth as he rises.]
Perhaps you do mean Fear, for to garner Respect one must exhibit more than mere physical superiority.

[Fine, if Lancelot says no shame then no shame, she takes the water and takes a mouthful, it's not enough but it breaks her out of her lethargy and she takes another mouthful before firmly screwing the cap back on. They don't have that much.

She rounds on Sephiroth eyes blazing] Lancelot do be being right, respect do be being earned and I do be seeing you be doing anything to be earning it from anyone, mortal or no.

[Good. At least those petty noises will stop for a while now. Sephiroth forces his gaze from Nesir as Lancelot turns towards him. He had half-phrased an answer in his head when Nesir rounded back on him. Eyes flare vividly as the cooling of his anger was dismissed like dust and he meets her face again. His voice quite a bit pricklier.]

Really? I'll remember that next time you need me at your back.

[He could go on, about how his power is most certainly not all in physical superiority but it's only going to give Nesir the high-ground so he doesn't mention it.]

I do never be needing you at my back. [Her voice was louder now, the water meaning she could actually shout.] Never did be.

[The response is instantaneous. This is prickling entirely too hotly on his nerves. It's louder too but he's not quite shouting yet.]

Don't lie to yourself, pathetic child. It's bad enough the extent you lie to others.

[She stands up at that] What do that be supposed to be meaning?

You know exactly what I mean. Traitors are all the same.

[Clearly there are things not said underneath the words that Sephiroth stops himself from saying as well.]

[Judas for one doesn't want to get into this argument, but, hearing that makes him flinch. Way to hit a sore spot for others in the room, Seph. He looks to Nesir, her too, huh...

He really shouldn't say anything, but- ]

They're not...y-you can't assume that...!

You do be being the one who do be being a traitor Sephiroth. [She looks to Judas and nods at his words, despite her anger] Exactly it did be being a stupid thing you did be saying.

I assume nothing. [He turns his gaze to rest on Judas, eyes flaring with a warning.] Stay out of this, it's nothing to do with you.

[Before turning his wrath back to Nesir and turning up the intensity of his glare at her.]

Don't think that you can turn this around on me.

[It would not do any favors for Sephiroth to out Nesir's part in the evil alliance, in front of the others gathered here, but damn if she continued to push the button he'd bring her whole world crashing down around her. Just as he had done for Ryoji before, she knows what he's capable of and it's just infuriating that still she doesn't understand.

Automatically he's slipped into a stance from which he might spring an attack. He will not suffer being spoken to in such a way.]

Knock it off both of you!

[ This whole conversation was blown out of proportion over a damn water bottle. Ishtar's not in the mood for this shit at all. She's not trying to take charge because she wasn't the kind to do that but right now she was getting really tired of hearing the both of them talking. ][ She snapped at him first and then turned to Nesir because she didn't know her well, her tone was at least a bit more controlled. ]

Please can we drop it? I know you're pissed off because he doesn't get it but do we really need to be wasting our energy arguing about this?

[She's also in a fighting stance, baring her teeth as she glares at Sephiroth, daring him to do his worst, because she doesn't care any more, she is sick of his attitude.] You be staying out of it as well, it do be being none of your business.

That's it!

[He'd just gotten his hand ready to summon Masamune when the lights went out]

I am not staying out of it if you're all going to argue and put us at harms end! We don't know what the hell is goin--

[ Ishtar was cut off abruptly halfway when the lights turned off. ]
