Event: Quarantine

Characters: any characters trapped in rooms during the event
Setting: dormitory level rooms
Format: any
Summary: An unexpected series of explosions has trapped residents in the dorm rooms with no power and no way to get out. Try to communicate with the outside, deal with being stuck in a small room with other people... Deal with the really strange things that seem to be happening, too.
Warnings: typical Animus horror event warnings

[There are several more explosions, and the sound of things falling and crumbling outside. The dorm rooms themselves don't collapse or cave in, but the furniture and trunks and nightstands may be rattled and knocked about. Eventually, the lights flicker and go out entirely, leaving everyone in the dark. There are small red emergency lights lining the floors, but they don't seem to have come on all the way, and flicker on and off eerily.

After maybe twenty minutes everything falls silent. However, if you try the door, you'll find you can't get out...]

This is...

[Words fail Sheba for a few moments as she feels the shell in her hand. Her fingers curl around it and she feels the shape, certain that she knows what it is even though it's too dark to really see.

It means a lot, because while Xion has never said in words to her what these shells mean, Sheba can guess. Just holding it brings to mind the beautiful, idyllic memories that the pair of them had dwelt on to calm Xion down after her horrific experience in the administrative levels. That Xion would give this to her when she can't possibly have an unlimited amount of them - because it simply wouldn't be the Tower if they were allowed unlimited access to things that bring them comfort - is touching enough that it almost makes Sheba forget the pain she is in right now.

It's definitely enough to make her smile, and she sounds sort of choked up when she's finally able to speak again.]

Thank you. [She wishes she had something to give Xion in return - and then it occurs to her that she does. There's a slight shifting as Sheba brings her free hand to her cloak, then loosens one of the gems - this one a shiny, amber-colored one - and presses it into Xion's hand. It's not as obviously meaningful as Xion's, though, so it warrants an explanation.] ...I've had this cloak with me since I was little... since before the first time I was kidnapped, even. It's been with me through everything I've experienced. [A pause, and then -] ...we met each other not too long after I got here. You've been with me through almost everything I've experienced, too. Thank you so much.
