Event: Quarantine

Summary: An unexpected series of explosions has trapped residents in the dorm rooms with no power and no way to get out. Try to communicate with the outside, deal with being stuck in a small room with other people... Deal with the really strange things that seem to be happening, too.
Warnings: typical Animus horror event warnings

[There are several more explosions, and the sound of things falling and crumbling outside. The dorm rooms themselves don't collapse or cave in, but the furniture and trunks and nightstands may be rattled and knocked about. Eventually, the lights flicker and go out entirely, leaving everyone in the dark. There are small red emergency lights lining the floors, but they don't seem to have come on all the way, and flicker on and off eerily.

After maybe twenty minutes everything falls silent. However, if you try the door, you'll find you can't get out...]

Well from the sound of it... they aren't here to help us.

[keybearer]

Figures. The same thing happened with those shadow kids.

[He grimaces at the thought. Those guys popped up right around an explosion, too...]

Door's still stuck too, isn't it?

[regenleif]

Won't budge. [He blinked, Chaos had told him about the shadows but had refused to go into detail, he scratched his head] I only arrived a few weeks ago...

[keybearer]

Ah, so you lucked out.

[Well, it can't hurt to clue him in, right? Riku learns against the wall and shuts his eyes.]

Well, basically, somebody set off some explosives in the elevator shaft, and a whole horde of shadow kids started popping up. And the worst part? Every single one sounded familiar-- like the people we left behind. They'd taunt us, claiming it was our fault for turning them into those things.

[He sighs.]

Hard to say if they were real or not, though. It could've just as easily been one of the tower's tricks.

[regenleif]

Yeah, seems I did. [He listens, frowning, more explosives and so that was why Chaos had told him not to go and search for the shadows...] Tricks? So things like that happen a lot?

[keybearer]

All the time, depending on where you look. Some floors have built-in traps and illusions, and they're almost all designed to kill us.

[The curtain floor, the school floor, that one floor with the fairy circles. He could go on about the tower's fun little "quirks". Half the time, he sees the tower as a death trap.]

[regenleif]

Sounds like a lovely place. [He sighs] Why save us if they are just going to kill us in this place?

[keybearer]

They don't consider it death, that's why.

[He rolls his eyes.]

After all, they just stuff our souls into replacement bodies. It doesn't help that the admins are all insane except for Riki and the kid.

[regenleif]

They what? [He sat back eyes wide, not quite believing what he had just heard, put their souls into replacement bodies? How? How was that possible]

[keybearer]

...Oh brother. Nobody's told you about the glamour system yet?

[Riku sighs, pointing his thumb at his chest.]

It's... well, the bodies we're in right now aren't real. They may look and feel that way, but that's because of an illusion that covers this whole tower.

[regenleif]

[He shook his head slowly, but he had, Chaos had told him and Capell hadn't really understood. They were made of wireframe and illusion, but he hadn't mentioned their souls being put in replacement bodies. He still didn't really understand, how they could be an illusion. It seemed so strange.] How are we alive if we are not real...
