Event: Quarantine

Summary: An unexpected series of explosions has trapped residents in the dorm rooms with no power and no way to get out. Try to communicate with the outside, deal with being stuck in a small room with other people... Deal with the really strange things that seem to be happening, too.
Warnings: typical Animus horror event warnings

[There are several more explosions, and the sound of things falling and crumbling outside. The dorm rooms themselves don't collapse or cave in, but the furniture and trunks and nightstands may be rattled and knocked about. Eventually, the lights flicker and go out entirely, leaving everyone in the dark. There are small red emergency lights lining the floors, but they don't seem to have come on all the way, and flicker on and off eerily.

After maybe twenty minutes everything falls silent. However, if you try the door, you'll find you can't get out...]

[He gets up and pulls out the red chalk, setting the box down on the ground. He leaves it up to her what she wants to draw. He just started sketching loosely with the chalk. Naturally it's terrible. It's a mockery of the tower and the situation.] Grab some chalk and let's make it a little more colorful.

Hmm...

[She picks carefully through the chalk before picking out the blue and green- and immediately trees and sky start taking shape along the wall with practiced strokes.]

A pity we probably don't have enough to do the whole room.

We got enough to do part of it. That's what counts. [He sketches a city with yellow for the windows lit up. Tall sky scrapers that remind him of the first home he ever had.

Kinda comforting to see it even if it's his hand creating it.]

I suppose it is.

[Chidori's landscape abruptly inverts, greenish tint in the sky, a red moon, and a tower in blue and yellow. Tartarus, the Tower of Demise.]

Maybe I should consider doing something like this in my room.

Maybe you better take pictures of it when you do, art needs to be saved and appreciated. Spread the word and maybe every room will be like this. We can compare who does what and have who can what how fast or how shitty.

Not like there's much else to do between on hey it's murder time or oh shit son time to kick back at the crazy suckers running this joint. [Dave keeps sketching as he talks. It's a skill to never let the movement of his hands mess up his words or vice versa. He learned it fairly early in life.]

Unfortunately, I don't have a camera, but I'm certainly all for encouraging people to vandalize the tower as creatively as possible.

[Chidori pauses only to switch out the colors of the chalk she's using, even as she turns the landscape back to normal on the other side of the Tower of Demise.]

Though you do have a point. It really isn't like there's much else to do otherwise besides the usual 'trying not to die' routine.

There's a way to get a camera. Mostly just requests but sometimes they give stuff back. [And sometimes you find the real thing. His fingers itch to touch the real blade he keeps on him. Since the raid he hasn't let it leave his side.
