Summary: An unexpected series of explosions has trapped residents in the dorm rooms with no power and no way to get out. Try to communicate with the outside, deal with being stuck in a small room with other people... Deal with the really strange things that seem to be happening, too.
Warnings: typical Animus horror event warnings

[There are several more explosions, and the sound of things falling and crumbling outside. The dorm rooms themselves don't collapse or cave in, but the furniture and trunks and nightstands may be rattled and knocked about. Eventually, the lights flicker and go out entirely, leaving everyone in the dark. There are small red emergency lights lining the floors, but they don't seem to have come on all the way, and flicker on and off eerily.

After maybe twenty minutes everything falls silent. However, if you try the door, you'll find you can't get out...]

[Diarmuid is again struck speechless by Ken's words. He has known men who lived their whole lives never being able to understand and accept the things Ken has at such a young age. Diarmuid himself sometimes wonders if he could act as Ken has. He says that he has forgiven Kayneth for his betrayal, but it is easy to say that when the person isn't there. If Kayneth ever arrived here, would Diarmuid actually be able to let everything go?]

You are an amazing person, Ken. So many people never reach the point you have. They prefer to chase revenge forever and then find themselves empty and lost once they have found it if they ever do find it. Living in the past gains us nothing because as much as we might want to change the past, it cannot be changed. All that chasing revenge does is cause pain for more people in the end.

[He shuts his eyes for a moment.]

It is better to live to help people than live to hurt them. It is just not always easy. I...am not sure if my former master was brought here I could be as noble as you. I say I have forgiven him, but emotions don't always listen.

Mother wouldn't have wanted me to become a killer anyway, I think.

[... He cautiously reaches out and puts a hand on Diarmuid's arm. It looks like he's hit something personal.]

When we get out of here, and when I get older... I want to help people. I want to become a lawyer, and help kids who are in bad situations fight to be heard. People don't take them seriously a lot of the time - so I will.

No, no mother wants their son to become a killer.

[Diarmid smiles, briefly resting his hand on Ken's to acknowledge the gesture before moving it away.]

She would be very proud of the man her son has become. Never let go of that wish, Ken. As long as you never give up, someday you will make your wish reality. Look at how far you have come already. Once our worlds are restored, I am sure you will do a great many good deeds for those kids and your mother will live on through everything you do.

[... Ah. He fists his hands in his lap, blushing a little.]

Th... thanks...

[Diarmuid's smile widens.]

You're welcome. Someday, I hope I will be able to come to the same kind of peace with the situation I am in as you have with yours. There is a man... He was my master in the war I was in before being brought here. He dishonored everything I held dear and even so I still served him because it was what I was suppose to do. In the end...

[Diarmuid's hand unconsciously rises to rest over his heart.]

...he forced me to kill myself. I say I have forgiven him, but there are times when I question if I really have or if I am just lying to myself.

[... He scowls, and reaches out to take Diarmuid's hand, trying to support him.]

That's terrible. I'm... sorry...

[Diarmuid gives Ken a grateful look.]

Thank you. Sadly, being betrayed by the people who I swear my life to is something I am far too used to.

[For a moment, his eyes dart across the room to Waver.]

Hopefully, this time things will go a little better for me. Three is a lucky number for my people after all.

If things don't go better, I'll kick people in the head for you.

[This actually gets Diarmuid to laugh and he holds out his hand to shake Ken's.]
