Characters: Cid and you.
Setting: Room 2-04, the workshop, cafeteria and anywhere else.
Format: Starting with prose, but will match.
Summary: Cid awakens in the Tower. Appropriate canon point means his world being destroyed makes a lot of sense. He then goes off to explore the tower and discover with horror what they've done to the tea in this horrible, horrible place.

• Dormitories Floor (Room 2-04)
To some people, the thought that your world may have been destroyed makes absolutely no sense. But to Cid, it actually made a whole lot sense. Mind you, last thing he could remember, the meteor was crashing into the planet-- And while both Holy and the Lifestream were working at stopping it, there was no saying as to whether or not it had worked.
Guess that letter settled it. It had not worked.
Not that it really made that much sense though, since if his world had indeed been destroyed, nobody should have been able to rescue him. Well, guess there was only one way to get some straight answers. Grumbling, he went through his trunk's content and grabbed his equipment-- With his speak noticeably broken into pieces, thank you tower, before heading out. This smelt like something Shinra would do, and he needed answers.
• Cafeteria (Day 2)
Like everyone else, Cid had gone through his oatmeal the day before, but not without an healthy amount of swearing. Who in the world would want to eat oatmeal? Certainly not him. This tower was clearly as bad as it looked. He was a bit more enthusiast today though, as he had seen the other meals offered by the tower and they didn't look half as bad. He went for the pancakes first-- And then grimaced.
"... Pumpkin pancakes?" he left the pancake aside after one bite and moved on to take a bit of the roasted seeds-- Only to stop halfway in and brush the dish aside as well. "... Pumpkin flavored seeds."
The hell was up with that? At least they provided him with tea, they were decent enough, right? Not what he thought any more after drinking it.
"Goddamn pumpkin tea!" he slammed the cup on the table "$^@#*$ù%!! Why is everything infected with pumpkin in this damn cafeteria?!"
• Workshop (15th Floor)
At some point Cid found the workshop and stayed in it. The Tower had been nice enough to provide him with his weapon of choice, a spear, namely the "Venus Gospel". But unfortunately, it had been broken into pieces so as to fit into his trunk, pretty much killing the whole point of having a spear as weapon.
But no matter, he'd decided to take the matter into his own hands. Using whatever good metal he could find around, heating the spear's pieces and hammering them, he started working on putting the pieces back together into a coherent whole. He had made his first spear himself after all, fixing a broken one shouldn't be beyond his capabilities. It was tough and tiring to do, though.
• Random Corridors
You'll find Cid exploring the tower for the next couple days with his spear in hand and ready to cast a spell at the first sign of trouble. This tower got a lot of floors, too many if you asked him, but given he couldn't leave anytime soon he'd rather get to know the various floors.

[ Sounds pretty freaky, alright. Reno had told him about how there were things much worse than Jenova in the multiverse, and that Ruana sounded like she was a pretty good candidate for the title. Still if that really was what she spent her time doing, sounded more like some stupid than an eldritch abomination. ]
Guess that Ruana is the "worse than Jenova" crap I've been told about. Still can't say it's soundin' much worse than my world bein' destroyed or everyone I knew bein' dead. Sounds more like the icin' on the cake.

But after over twenty months of this place... well, Riku has resigned to the fact that certain things happen and/or will be done to him against his will. Not that that means he's give up. He's just taken to picking his battles.]
...I guess you could call it that.
[Considering that Ruana's games and Jason's experiments are kind of really part of the whole Worlds Destroyed And Everyone Is Dead-package. If Riku thought properly about it, he'd find it slightly frightening how used he is to it all. How much he really considers the destruction of the worlds and the deaths of everyone living there aside himself a fact - even though he's very much convinced that they can change revive everything to how it was before.
...He's really been here fore way too long already.]

blame the mun. Still, Cid didn't look particularly impressed by the story.? Of course he figured it had to be worse when you went through it personally, or saw friends go through it, but what probably didn't help was indeed how used to it Riku sounded. ]Ya know, your candy horror story would soun' more scary if you looked like if you actually had any damn left to give 'bout it.
[ With that said, he took a smoke and lit it up. Sorry Riku, but you really don't give the impression of someone stuck in a nightmare-ish tower. If anything that re-assures Cid about his future in this place, alright. ]

Cid will get a shrug at that, because well... he certainly still 'gives a damn' about anything that happens to the people he cares about here and elsewhere, but there is only so much he can do something about and right now that excludes the admins.]
Hazard of having been around for almost two years already.
[Not that that means he doesn't get angry or scared while he's right in the middle of whatever Ruana or Jason are up to, but he does have a hard time getting worked up over it when it's already a year in the past.]

[ He could only hope that after two years in here, he would be as healthy mentally. ... Not that he had any chance of staying two years, but he didn't know that just yet. ]

[The tower has turned him jaded, has made him even more paranoid, but it hasn't broken him and in some ways the experiences here have even been helpful (and will be even more helpful if they ever restore the worlds... if he ever makes it back to where he belongs).
He should maybe offer some sort of reassurance?]
If it helps, there is no chance of you having to suffer this place just as long.

Riku raises an eyebrow, faintly amused... he is maybe possibly not the best person to give the rundown, at least not if you can't stand the blunt truth. This guy looks like he can take it though, so...]

By the worst ya got. And don't just stop in the middle, that's just painful for the both of us.
We can go and assume that he's basically telling Cid everything that's public knowledge anyway?
Suit yourself for a long story and a rough ride.
[And with that he starts, tells Cid of the administrators, of the monthly changes, of Jason, of Ruana, of experiements, of games, of retrieval units and the fact that they can very well be programmed just like that themselves, of the glamour and warns him of some of the floors that don't support abilities and magic should he have any, of the most lethal floors, and that there's little here to be trusted, but themselves and whatever bonds they form (and even those might be questionable at times).
When he's done he tilts his head, arms crossing over his chest.]
