Summary: Zett gathers and eats mushrooms for science. He's also willing to share.

["Many mushrooms grow on this floor. It is unknown if they are edible or not."

That was what the guide to the tower said, and Zett was just bored enough to decide to make a helpful contribution. Perhaps they would kill him unpleasantly, but his death would help people in the future to not die. Perhaps they would be incredibly tasty and a good source of food during Jason months. It was hard to tell, with the tower.

Careful to avoid all the pits on this floor, Zett gathers up as many mushrooms as he can. Just one wouldn't be enough to know for sure how dangerous these mushrooms were - if the first one didn't kill him, he'd have to test another.

Zett isn't actually going to eat on this floor (too dangerous with the pits around), so other residents will just encounter him picking mushrooms and gathering them in a box.]

[Dormitory Floors]
[When Zett gets back to the dorm floors, it's finally time to test the mushrooms for deadliness. Setting the box on the ground, Zett picks up one mushroom and munches on it.

It's delicious. Zett finishes it quickly and waits for any side effects.

Gradually he notices that his vision is going a little... weird. Colors are changing. The doors are starting to morph into shapes that clearly wouldn't fit a person through them, unless they were a very strangely formed person. He feels kind of... melty.

Huh.

Zett picks up his box of mushrooms and walks around the dormitories, occasionally stumbling as the ground doesn't feel right. When he spots other people, he'll smile and wave and tell them something like,] Did you know you're leaving a trail of light behind you? [After a moment, he'll add.] That could be the mushrooms, though.

... Now you have completely turned the same color as your hair. Yeah, definitely drugged.

[Zett laughs.] That must look pretty strange!

[You color-code anyway, Zett.]

It does, yes. Especially with everything melting like it is.

Oh no, is my face melting too?

Ah... [Hold on, she has to peer closer.] Yes, it is!

[Wow Zoe you are way too cheerful about this.]

[Zett feels his own face. Sure enough...] Wow, you're right. This is so strange.

It is! Luckily it is just us hallucinating, or else this would probably be pretty bad.

What if you ate something that really made your face melt?

... That would be an awful way to go. And a pretty silly story to tell when you got revived. Death by eating face melting food.

So much worse than death by monster or death by door.

The doors are all funny shapes, what if they changed shape while you were passing though? That'd hurt.

[He probably would not make this joke to Patrick Dawn if he knew of his death by door. Then again, maybe she would.]

That does sound painful. Just walking through a door and suddenly it shrinks, or suddenly turns into a jagged shape.

[Considering Zoe is a horrible person, she probably would.]

Hmmm... Nah, I would say either that weird fleshy floor or the chapel are the worst floors.

You're right, the chapel's the worst. Dumb place, really.

I did not mind chapels before, but after meeting angels, they became really dumb to me.

Good thing we don't have too many angels here.

Well, there's some on your arms. [He pokes her in the arm where he sees a symbol.]

[There's a quiet 'eep' when he pokes her in the arm, before she squints at the area he poked at.] Huh... I think I see it. Though are my wings out too?
