Summary: Zo has set up a carnival for the residents, but it's not meant to last. Anyone wandering after the bombs go off might see things they never wanted to see...
Warnings: Psychological and body horror
Note: Characters entering the carnival from the 27th to the 30th will experience visions! Please refer to the info post for details and reply to this thread if your character enters the carnival during these days.

[The carnival has taken up the entirety of the cafeteria. A large roller coaster and ferris wheel tower over the residents, while a child-sized roller coaster, a merry-go-round, and spinning teacups project much less daunting silhouettes. Stands are set up with standard carnival foods available, from ice cream to cotton candy. These stands do not ask for anything as payment.

On the twenty-seventh, the carnival appearance changes. The machinery all appears rusted and broken down, as if weathered with decades of rain and snow. Plants grow up and around the rides, ruining them, and all the food is rotten.]

Perhaps later you will wish to. I have been watching, and no one has been injured. I have tried the pink candy. It was pleasant. Usually I do not eat.

Thanks for the offer but I'm really not feelin' up to it. I lost some people last week and I guess I'm just not in the mood. [Reno rubs the back of his neck, biting his lower lip.] 'Sides, I'm gonna check on our mutual project in a bit.

[Gilles sobers. He tries to remember what the appropriate thing to say in such a situation might be.]

Sorrowful news! May they return to you soon! I would feel the same, if I lost those who were dear to me in this place.

[Although he would be a lot more histrionic about it.]

No rush, Gilles, ya look like you're enjoyin' yourself. I'm gonna hang out around here and get some more food, if you want to go on the rides.

[Gilles lets out a sigh, his cheerfulness fading.]

Ah, my friend, I am a liar! But I can no longer deceive you. In truth, this does not delight me. But--I will try and go on the rides, and see if they can bring me pleasure.

That so? What do ya think will? I mean, it's an amusement park. Must be something around here to amuse ya, just got to find it.

[He hesitates. Maybe he shouldn't admit to it, when he's gotten along so well with the Orange Fluid Research Team so far. He doesn't want to ruin things.]

I am a violent man, I confess. I enjoyed the war. So... what will amuse me here? I wish to find something.

Oh, huh. [Reno doesn't seem all that disturbed by his confession.] How 'bout some of the carnival games? I saw one where you throw balls to hit moving targets.

[Gilles is pleased when Reno doesn't react negatively. His new friends truly do understand him! He smiles.]

Throwing balls? I could do that. Would you care to play a game with me?

[Hey if Reno did he'd be a giant hypocrite. It's not like he didn't know a number of violent men.

He thinks for a moment, then shrugs.]
