Setting: Cafeteria; please specify the date and location in the carnival in your subject header!
Format: Anything
Summary: Zo has set up a carnival for the residents, but it's not meant to last. Anyone wandering after the bombs go off might see things they never wanted to see...
Warnings: Psychological and body horror
Note: Characters entering the carnival from the 27th to the 30th will experience visions! Please refer to the info post for details and reply to this thread if your character enters the carnival during these days.

[The carnival has taken up the entirety of the cafeteria. A large roller coaster and ferris wheel tower over the residents, while a child-sized roller coaster, a merry-go-round, and spinning teacups project much less daunting silhouettes. Stands are set up with standard carnival foods available, from ice cream to cotton candy. These stands do not ask for anything as payment.

On the twenty-seventh, the carnival appearance changes. The machinery all appears rusted and broken down, as if weathered with decades of rain and snow. Plants grow up and around the rides, ruining them, and all the food is rotten.]

[All the training Veronica has gone through is nothing in the face of what happened next.

The warrior was pressed into her seat as the car zoomed down, knocking a squeal out of the girl's throat. And then, the cars stopped their downward descent and quickly became more level for the moment. Veronica was fairly certain that one of her organs had detached from all that force, she just wasn't sure which one.

As instructed, she clung to Rick's arm. Her eyes weren't closed like his were though. Veronica's were wide open.]

[...okay they've leveled off. Only then does he realize that Veronica has wrapped herself around his arm, still clutching the bar pressed rather uncomfortably into his gut. He chances peeking open an eye--]

[--only to sail over a second crest, picking up more speed as they approach a sharp bend, coming in alarmingly fast--]

[Rick closes his eyes again and keeps them that way. Probably the only thing keeping him from screaming at this point is that he's laughing too much.]

[Veronica's screaming. Good to know that Rick is having fun through.

They hit the bend hard, Veronica getting squashed inbetween Rick and the G-forces. The cars curled around the bend before shooting off-Oh god, is that a loop-de-loop?

Veronica squeaks as they go up and up and up. The whole thing isn't as scary though. Rather it sends a sensation straight to Veronica's gut that makes her laugh out loud. The whole thing did have a certain thrill to it.]
