Summary: Riki's offered a way to help keep the Tower powered a little longer. Obviously this is going to cause a lot of discussion and debate so let's CONSOLIDATE
Warnings: Nothing as of yet. Possibly eventually, so keep an eye on subject lines and I 'll try to change to reflect any developments

[No doubt Riki's announcement would be polarizing, but the instructions themselves were clear: Floor 1 at noon if you want to help out. And if you want to meet people, try to talk them in or out of it? Or hell, maybe even just talk about the revelation on who is behind those explosions? Well, this is as good a place as any for that too.

[What it came down to for Aleph, in the end, was that their end had to be averted. He'd do whatever it took to keep them alive. Put himself under Riki's care? He'd put himself under Ruana's care if he thought it would work.

Aleph sat at one of the tables, not armored for once in his life. He figured it would make it harder to hook him up.]

[And after he's been sitting for a while, one certain redhead goes to stand by his seat, giving him a very unimpressed look as her arms cross in front of her chest.]

I really hope you're not doing this too.

You really shouldn't get your hopes up. I'm going to do it.

And what if something goes wrong? Or in ends in death, or something worse?

Then that's what will happen to me. But what if we don't take the risk, and everyone dies instead? Isn't that worse?

[It seems objectively true. At least to him.]

But there's- [She bites her lip, trying to resist the urge to be selfish. Then she sighs and turns to look away from him.] ... Maybe I can talk to Riki and ask him to take double from me, so you don't have to do it.

And I don't get to worry about you even though you get to worry about me?

[Seriously? Really, April?]

Yes. Cause what if doing this could end in permanent death, or you get stuck here? If that does happen, I'm not letting you get stuck in this tower.

And what if you die? What am I supposed to do if that happens?

[She bites her lip, but no, she isn't gonna let up.] ... You move on. It might take time, but you're young, it's not like it will ever just be me.

And why is that different for you than if I die?

It isn't. But you... You shouldn't die here, Aleph, not after everything that's happened.

You shouldn't die either. I wish I could convince you not to risk it, but you're probably going to anyway, because you're an incredibly good person who cares for other people enough to get hurt in their place.
