I know a king who would have issues with that :|
Taiki [That's a lower voice, seemingly from no where and Taiki blinks, before nodding and the next moment there is a large red wolf stood next to him.]
He won't hurt you! Sorry... [Taiki realised he might have startled the man]
Unless the King is Gilgamesh, Diarmuid thinks he can take him... :-P
Is Taiki your name? Mine is Diarmuid Ua Duibhne.
[He bows his head to both the boy and the wolf, before gesturing to the wolf. He's actually not sure if he should address the boy or the wolf.]
Is this your familiar or perhaps your guardian?
No Taiki will be sad :|
Meep! No, no want sad Kirin! :-(
I am honored to meet you, Gohran. I am sure you are a great comfort to Taiki in this terrible place.
[He then turns his attention back to the boy.]
How are you feeling? Are you in any pain right now?

Taiki blinked at the question]
I'm okay... it hurt before but it doesn't now... and there's no blood... I can't smell any here...

[It seems like an understatement, but he really doesn't know how else to state it. Diarmuid looks around them, alert for trouble, though without his powers he suspects Gohran will sense danger long before he does.]
You...can smell blood?
[Blood is a smell that people often learn to recognize, especially warriors, but Taiki is only a child. Surely, he has not been exposed to so much blood that he has already come to know the smell that well...]

[That was worrisome. Blood seems to be everywhere in the Tower, shed so often it might as well have been a building block in its creation.]
How...do you survive in the Tower? Are you often sick? Do...I smell of blood to you?
[Those who have shed a lot of blood often seem to carry its smell wherever they go, and Diarmuid, as a knight, definitely falls into that category of those who have killed a lot. He would hate for his presence to be making the boy ill. Still, Taiki had said that he didn't smell any here. Hopefully, that is a good sign in more ways than one.]
sorry had to check with the mods if he would or not
No worries!
Would it be improper of me to ask why you can sense blood so strongly? We have just met, but I have known experienced warriors who cannot smell blood as well as you can.
[Sadness fills his eyes.]
Have you really seen so much war already?

[Diarmuid is quiet for a moment as he tries to place the word, but in the end he can only shake his head.]
I'm sorry. I don't know what a kirin is...

You are a spirit of nature? One of the Fae?

Do you have a special purpose to fulfill, then? Or are you just suppose to aid those who you can?
[In either event, it is a lot of such a young child to bear. Thankfully, he isn't alone.]

[Diarmuid gives Taiki a confident look.]
We will find a way to get you back to your king. I promise.

[But first they had to find a way out of this dark place]

[Diarmuid stands up and looks around them. Finally, he stops, looking in the direction of that pull he has been feeling since he woke up.]
What do you think, little wise one? Will we find the exit if we go in the direction we are being pulled in?

This place is so bad... It might not be a good thing we go towards.

That is why we will go together. If something bad is there, we face it as one and will be stronger for it. There is no reason for anyone to face this alone.

[Diarmuid gives the boy's hand a comforting squeeze.]
Is there anyone you wish to look for specifically before we head off?
